Although this has almost nothing to do with hunting, except that the star loves to hunt. On Weds evening I was at the local Petco to pick up a new bag of Iams for Tucker. The kids were excited to get him a big bone to chew on, so off went down isle 4. As we discuss the pros and cons of each bone in the bin, Karsten looks up and points "look Dad, there's Tucker". Sure enough, an entire section of pre-bagged pig ears are covered with a picture of Tucker. We had completely forgotten about a photoshoot he'd done 2 years ago for them.
Got to love when your Dog pays his own way.

As hunters and shooters, it's our responsibility to introduce the young people in our lives to the sport. Of course, the the time is right when the kid shows some interest and wants to check it out. Recently we took my 10 year old niece, Lily Meadows, to the Basalt, Colorado public shooting range for her first lesson in shooting a .22. Grandpa, Grandma and Uncle Glenn were there to show their support and cheer her on. Safety was the number one concern. Lily learned the parts of the gun, safe handling and shooting range etiquette. She was enthusiastic and a great student and quickly took to the Winchester Model 90 .22 long caliber pump action rifle. Lily blasted the target with the accuracy of young eyes and steady hands. A chip off the block.
I can safely say that we recruited a lifelong shooter and maybe someday Lily will join Grandpa and me on a hunt.

Brad Yeoman's and myself got our first taste of the fabled Pike County today a we attended the third annual Bowhunter Roundtable with the industry's leading writers, editors, and manufacturers. Optifade was a big hit and everyone seemed to agree that the Sitka Gore partnership was a great one.
After the so called "work" was done, it was great to drive around, imagining the huge bucks hiding just out of site. Everything there looks like a manacured deer heaven, with miles and miles of corn fields and rolling forests.

A handful of us piled in and went out to the rodeo this weekend. Temps were hovering in low to mid 30's, and I was able to convince my fiance to partake as long as I agreed we wouldn't camp out in the back of the truck. We muscled our "late season camp" into the rig and headed out of town (which was fitting for June). I wore the new Stormfront Lite shell and was quite pleased. No moisture droplets made it into my jacket (outside of what dribbled off my chin). Super functional, and remarkably fashionable. -many comments on the new layer. It was a great evening in the hills.

I spent the last couple days with our partners to the North. Our (awesome) Canadian distributers invited me to come up for a couple days of product education and shootin' practice. It was a great weekend, and a stunning flight over the B.C. Coast Range. Not too mention a great time blazing through cases of ammo w/ semi-automatic shootin' irons.

 fun for all...

It was a solid trip...thanks for having me up Terry! It was great spending the day/eve with you guys. Cheers.
