August 12th

I’m sitting in Norman Wells waiting to fly to British Columbia. To say the Northwest Territories Dall hunts went well would be an understatement. I learned a lot about these sheep after 20 days of bowhunting them.

My new Sitka stuff was incredible. The Merino and Traverse shirts kicked it, and three of four of my clients had the Timeberline Pants – all saying they were the best hunting pants they'd ever worn. Two of them had the Windshirt, and both of them called it a must-have for glassing on windy ridges.

The coolest thing about the main camp was this: Four hunts, 15 sheep hunters, and 12 of them were completely covered in Sitka!

If you are hunting in sheep country you need the best gear. I have been hunting sheep in Alberta for 11yrs now, this is the first year I have used Sitka gear sheep hunting and I wish I had it the first year.
Sounds like some lessons learned and some gear tested! Congrats again Dustin!
Well done Dustin, great guiding. I just got my Coldfront jacket, pants and traverse. Looking forward to try it out in the Norwegian mountains guiding moosehunters for three weeks, and Im off the 25th sept and we usually have nice weather the first week, in mid October we usually have som wet snow and windy weather..
