Love the film work and I'm loving what the new product is all about!
I have a couple questions:
1. Is there any optifade waders on the way and when can these be expected?
2. Is the Delta jacket the only waterproof one out of all the jacket options?
Thank so much!
Oh and let me know if you need any more help with producing any movies ;) www.canavp.com

Awesome gear.......nothing like science meeting tradition then throwing in some innovation!

Waterfowl traverse balaclava seems like it will fit in Iowa cornstalks, cpr land and late season woods hunting whitetail deer. I'll leave a post on the results before getting winded.

Thanks Greg, but we've got a feeling you won't miss your old waterfowl clothes too badly!

Another "class act" from Sitka. Looks like Mark Seacat did the video production. I hunt ducks at least 50 days a season, going to miss my old waterfowl clothing!

Hi Scott, thanks for your feedback! We hear what you're saying, but this is concealment, not camouflage. With camo, the idea is to look like your environment, a blob of sticks, cattails, etc. Concealment is about looking like nothing in the eyes of your prey. To do that, you have to know what your prey actually sees. Humans have very different vision from waterfowl, and we see the world from completely different points of view. The Waterfowl Pattern is designed specifically around the ocular make-up of ducks and geese, and was developed by some incredibly brilliant optical scientists and veterinary biologists. For more info, check out GORE™ OPTIFADE™'s video on the pattern here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RuRQF3IrmY

I have been hoping for waterfowl gear for years. There are lots of options available, but they all fall short in one way or another. I knew Sitka could remedy these issues if they ever came out with a waterfowl line. To say I'm excited is an understatement. That being said, the camo pattern appears to be drastically "off". The pattern seems much too light colored and the light colored highlights don't match the yellow/orange tones of brown that many hunters encounter while hunting cattail marshes. I know it's difficult to develop a "one size fits all" pattern because waterfowl are hunted in such varying terrain, but I implore you to do some additional research and color matching in a swamp based environment.

@JR- The Dakota Vest overtop a Traverse, Merino or Core Zip-T is a highly breathable option for waterfowling in warm weather. Also, the Dakota Vest has four pockets - two hand, two chest - and utilizes WINDSTOPPER® fabric to block out any cool gusts.

The waterfowl line looks line looks like it will be great. Will there be any warm-season items? The goose season starts in mid August around hear and much of the hunting is now in warmer weather. Breathable, layerable/lightweight, with a lot of pockets....
JR Posted At 5/05/2012 11:16 AM
That stuff looks great. Thank you Sitka for making some gear you can actually move in and stay warm. Pattern looks amazing. Can't wait to get my hands on some!!

When I first looked at Sitka Gear, my first thought was...'please let them make duck hunting gear.' Cannot wait until this stuff comes out. What kind of deeks are those in the video?
Justin Posted At 2/03/2012 07:22 PM

Darin Green Posted At 2/02/2012 11:48 AM
@Seth- The Waterfowl Line, as well as the rest of our new 2012 pieces, will be available June 1st.
@Dave- We do. We've designed a few different jacket options for different waterfowl hunting applications and environmental conditions.
the Sitka Team Posted At 1/31/2012 08:19 AM
Do you have a shorter jacket on tap? Those seem rather long for wading in anything deeper than a flooded cornfield.
Dave Posted At 1/30/2012 07:54 AM
Awesome video! Looking forward to the release! Hope production will be high so it doesn't sell out like most other gear! When will this be released? I also would like to know when the applications for athletes will be available.
Thanks guys! Good work!
Seth Posted At 1/29/2012 12:27 PM

Tristan Posted At 1/25/2012 08:18 PM
I already wear my Forest Kelvin jacket all the time for fishing and just being out and about, I can't wait to see a waterfowl-dedicated line for both waterfowling, fall hunting from the ground and fishing. Looking forward to seeing what's in the new line!
A.J. Posted At 1/24/2012 03:06 PM
@Chris- email sent!
the Sitka Team Posted At 1/24/2012 10:25 AM

chris Posted At 1/23/2012 08:26 PM
Off the charts awesome! I love this stuff
Dale Pearson Posted At 1/23/2012 04:36 PM
Good stuff! I was fortunate enough to see this and the new gear while at SHOT; pretty impressive! The new pattern is unreal; it actually looks textured and makes you want to keep touching it to see if it actually is! GORE certainly knows it's stuff.
Luke Johnson Posted At 1/23/2012 01:23 PM
WOW!!! That pattern looks great. Especally for out west!
