Author: Jeff Sposito

The Leland Award recognizes professionalism in the ranks of guides in British Columbia, Yukon, Nunavut and Northwest Territories. It was established in 2000 in memory of Leland Bradford, a talented, hard-working assistant guide who died in November 1998 at just 22 years old.

This year, and for years to come, Sitka is proud to sponsor the Leland Award. As a company, we rely on outstanding guides and assistant guides to push our gear to the limits and ensure that we're consistently producing the best hunting gear available. As hunters, we rely their knowledge of their area and efforts in wildlife stewardship to make hunting the remote, rugged Canadian wilderness possible. We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to these guides, and this is just one way we've chosen to say "Thank You."
The top three candidates for this year's Leland Award received full Sitka Systems in addition to honor and monetary awards. And we can't say, "Congratulations!" enough to Leland Award winner Derrik Stevens for his accomplishment!
