This was Sitka's first year exhibiting at the Dallas Safari Club annual convention. The show was an overwhelming success! We appreciate everyone's support and enthusiasm as our brand continues to grow moving forth into 2011. For those of you we had the pleasure of meeting in person at DSC we look forward to working with you in the future and can't wait to hear of your successes during the coming hunting seasons. While all of you Western guys are making me jealous with the pics of Dall Sheep, Mountain Caribou, blah blah blah..... The late summer routine is in full swing here in the Midwest. We are setting cameras, scouting bean fields, hanging stands and getting lanes cleared for those moments of truth that will come this Fall.

Time is a short that is just a kickoff and public notice of a new film project that is in the works! Enjoy and keep laying them down out west and we'll keep preparing here...

This post is clearly tardy, as the shows were over a few weeks ago. However, an update and photos are always good to share. Great shows, feedback on the new product pieces (Stormfront and Coldfront Series, the Kelvin Series, and of course "The Dutch Oven" to name a few) and Optifade Concealment Technology was overwhelming. A peak from the shows...

We are about to tackle trade show season. It's brutal, the hours long, the conversations repetitive, you tire of regurgitating the same material over and over and over. One thing I want to stress, ask a lot of questions and then practice "golden silence". Tell, tell, tell doesn't matter. What matters is finding out what your potential customer is trying to fix, accomplish, or avoid. Ask the right questions, you'll get the answer.  And then tell them what they need to hear. It works, and it makes the day a lot more enjoyable and ten times more fun.

Now what I actually wanted to post was a piece that Seth Godin had written some time back, but it stuck in my mind as being very relevant at shows. We have the incredible opportunity to meet anyone we want within our industry. So, do it. And here's why:
