The Kelvin Lite Jacket is extremely pack-able with an extraordinarily high heat-to-weight ratio by using PRIMALOFT insulation. At about half the weight of the Kelvin Jacket, it is almost like invisible warmth.
Your back-country forays need not entail shivering in the chill of the early mornings and late evenings. Designed specifically with the backpack hunters in mind, the Kelvin Lite Jacket is extremely packable while maintaining a high heat-to-weight ratio. At a about half the weight of the Kelvin Jacket, it is almost like invisible warmth.
The Kelvin Lite is ridiculously warm for how lightweight and compressible it is. It’s so versatile, from a mid to outer layer, along with my rain gear it’s the most accessible item in my pack and in my system nearly every single day of the year. You can stuff into it’s own sleeve, it gets down to about the size of half a Nalgene bottle. Simple and warm and the perfect insulation boost to my system that doesn’t take up a ton of weight and space.

This jacket is the nicest jacket I have found so far in my clothes for hunting. Its worm, light and very comfortable to move in. The only thing I wish it had was a chest pocket but there is one in side but it is not convent to zip down your jacket to get something every time but it works.
This jacket is extremely warm and lightweight. I purchased it for a CO elk hunt and it found its way into my MI whitetail system. I layer it under my jet stream lite jacket and it provides all the warmth I will ever need. It is extremely packable takes up no room so I can always have it with me. Thanks Sitka.
This was my main jacket for insulation last year and it will remain in my bag again this year. The Kelvin Lite is the kind of jacket you want in your pack. It takes up very little space, it weighs almost nothing, but it's there when the temps drop. The Primaloft does it's job and it keeps working when the rain sets in which is a bonus for me because I can't always stop and put on the Dewpoint. It's not perfect though. Sure, it could be lighter. I like the fact that it's light enough to carry, but tough enough to use. It's a bit noisy on the outer fabric so it's not the best choice for spot and stalk. Otherwise, this is a good choice for the hunter who want's to be prepared in his/her pack but doesn't want to have a motor vehicle nearby to do it. I am a Gore tester and I bought this with my own money. Bonus, It's packable. The Kelvin Lite will stuff into either hand pocket even though it does not have a double zipper to close it.
Was bought for me by my wife for Xmas 2013!!! Elk season is over, but WOW. I went snowmobiling and wore this as my "mid- layer" in about 0-10 degrees, not too mention going 40 mph .... This stands alone!!! Have always bout PATAGONIA, but never again. Their zippers continuously fail ( and that "ironclad" warranty is complete B.S. ! We have a local patagonia store in our town and they insist that they "have to" send in for repair.....seriously- if u want quality, u buy SITKA. The rest ate just cliche', lousy corporations lookin for a profit. Shame on patagonia
I was a little afraid about the putting all my gear in the Sitka system, until my Alaskan guide told me ‘’ that al I use’’ I bought my outer jacket and have never been more comfortable hunting since, they say it gear and not just clothing… they are 100% correct.
Another great product from Sika Gear. This is my favorite light insulation liner jacket. The Primaloft seems to perform beyond the temp rating. Incredibly warm for the weight and it packs down to nothing. An outstanding piece of gear that does the job and then some which is why it is part of my system. Wade Nelson HardcoreOutdoor.com
It does what it says. Very light weight with great insulation properties. It is a bit noisy if worn alone, but I don't believe it was designed as an outer layer. As with most Sitka products, it's a quality garment and will make a great addition to any layering system. I would recommend this to any weight conscious hunter.
The Kelvin Lite Jacket is a great addition to my Sitka layering system. When the temps drop, I can pull this jacket out of my pack and wear it under my soft-shell outer layer. The lite version of the Kelvin doesn't have as much fill as the standard Kelvin jacket. However, it is going to provide the warmth you need. The Kelvin Lite packs down to a small size that won't take up much room in your pack. The Primaloft insulation gives this jacket a high heat-to-weight ratio. This jacket has helped keep me warm in the bone chilling hunting seasons in Wisconsin and Wyoming. I am a GORE™ Gear Tester.
