This pack is for the shorter trips where really light and fast is paramount. The Ascent 8 securely holds your knife, some water, and your packable rain system. A pre-foamed molded hip belt offers a comfortable ride on the hips while the quilted Aero-Mesh back panel keeps your lower back dry. It’s hip pockets are strategically located for calls, range finders, wind indicators, and other small items you need at arm’s reach. Lashing straps can carry various extra items. Two large compression wings hug the pack tight to your hips to stabilize the load.

For those short trips where you are going really light and fast, or you just don’t need much more than your knife, a little water, and your packable rain system, the Ascent 8 fi ts the bill. A molded Nyospan hip belt is preformed for comfort, with a quilted, Aero Mesh back panel to keep your lower back dry. Hip pockets are strategically located for calls, range fi nders, wind indicators, or whatever other small items you need. Rigged and enabled for an internal hydration system, with hose clips running out on the hip belt for easy access. Lashing web straps for miscellaneous items and two large compression wings to hug your load in tight to your back.

Love this little fanny pack. This is perfect for holding a bottle of water, game cam memory cards, knife, small pistol, flashlight and keys; holding everything you need on your waist so that you can carry two bags of corn in to the woods to fill up your feeders. For early deer bow season, it holds a light facemask, bow stringer, leather finger glove, arm guard, and traverse hoody for when it chills down in the stand when the sun sets. In the spring, I use it to hold everything I need to move swiftly for the turkeys. Great little pack that is very comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. I have the tool bucket pack in the mail right now for those full day trips and times when you need to pack in more gear to the truck and stand.

I was looking for something sleek to replace my backpack so I could still pack in a climber and not feel like I was taking everything I owned into the woods for the hunt. This little pack is the ticket for me. I usually have my hunting license and tags in the back pocket along with a folding saw, water bottle, headlamp and my safety harness rope. Then in the second pocket I keep my gloves, hat, rangefinder and binoculars. The side pockets are great for a bow hooks, a windchecker, some snacks and your hunting knife. I'm surprised how much stuff I can fit in this little pack (although I always could carry more). Another good thing about this pack is it has compression straps on the outside so you can attach your outerwear and extra layers to the pack and not have to carry them in. I've even used this pack on a few turkey hunts this spring and it helped keep all my calls organized as well. If they had a 1,000 cubic inch version I'd probably prefer that, but this pack allows me to bring all the essentials to the treestand with me for a quick morning or afternoon hunt. -Marc Alberto NYBowhunter.com GORE-TEX Hunting Tech

Q. Can I order over the phone?

A. Yes, we have gear experts available from the hours of 8:00am MST to 5:00pm MST that are able to answer any of your technical questions as well as process and place orders.  During hunting season and other times of the year in which we experience high call volumes please do not be discouraged to leave us a voice message.  We will return your call ASAP. 

Q. How do I know what Sitka Gear I need for my hunt?

A. Our products are built to be used together as a complete system and are designed for very specific end-uses.  For general guidelines on how to build an appropriate system for a specific hunt please check out our System Builder.  As well, our gear experts are all avid hunters and are here to assist you in building your system.  Don’t hesitate to call them with specific questions at 877-SITKA-GR.

Q. What is Sitka Gear’s Warranty Policy?

A. We stand behind every product we make.  If you are unhappy with any of our products at the time your receive them, feel free to send them back.  Damage due to wear and tear will be repaired at a reasonable cost.  For more details, visit our Repairs and Warranties page.

Q. How can I determine which size will fit me best?

Q. How do I know if a specific Sitka Gear pack is the right size for me?

Q. Can I return my SitkaGear.com purchase for a refund for exchange?

A. Yes you can.  If it is within 60 days of the original purchase date and you would like to return your product for an exchange or refund, please use the return form included with your shipment and call our gear experts at 877-SITKA-GR for a Return Authorization number.  Note, that products must be unused with hangtags still affixed and must have been purchased direct from Sitka Gear.  If your item was purchased from one of our Authorized Dealers, please contact them in regards to their individual return policy.

Q. If an item is not in stock or in my local store where can I purchase it?

Q. Can I place a backorder on SitkaGear.com?

A. Unfortunately, we do not accept back orders at this time.  If there’s a specific product you would like to find and it’s not available on our site, please call or email our gear experts at 877-SITKA-GR or Info@SitkaGear.com.  We would be glad to help you locate the product from an authorized retailer.

Q. What method do you use to ship your products?

A. All of our orders are shipped via FedEx.  Standard Ground, 2-Day or Overnight deliveries are available.  Additional charges do apply for express shipments, oversized items and/or duties & customs into Canada.

Q. How do I track my order?

A. If you have entered a valid email address through the checkout process you will receive an email from FedEx with your tracking number when your shipment is processed. 

Q. How long will it take to receive my order?

A. We make every effort possible to get your order processed and shipped in a timely fashion.  Most orders are shipped within 2 business days of order placement.  If an item on your order is backordered or out of stock, you will be contacted by a Sitka Gear customer service associate to discuss alternative options.

Q. Why do I need to create an account to order online?

A. Creating an account with us helps speed up the ordering process for you and allows you to keep track of your order history, as well as manage your profile information online.

Q. Why does my credit card show two charges?

A. Sometimes credit/debit card statements contain two transactions, but this is only a temporary scenario.  When a purchase is made, an authorization is placed on your card to temporarily hold the funds on your account.  This is not an actual charge on your card.  Once the order has been shipped, this authorization becomes an approval and charges your account at that time.  The authorization will drop off your account within 2-3 business days (depending on the financial institution).

Q. Can I cancel my order?

A. We may be able to cancel your order but can only do this by telephone.  Please call us at 877-SITKA-GR as soon as possible after you have placed your order.  Otherwise it may be too late, as we try to process and get orders out the door as quickly as possible. 

Q. How do I return and item for a refund or repair?

A. To return a Sitka Gear item that you purchased from a store, please contact the original store to inquire about their individual Returns policy.
