The Boreal Jacket is our warmest piece of waterfowl gear, locking you into a GORE-TEX® vault that’s insulated with 650 fill power European goose down to give you maximum warmth with minimal layers and bulk so you have the freedom to swing and shoot. It is ideal for northern hunters facing mercilessly cold conditions.
Ounce for ounce, down is warmer than any synthetic material, and with proper care, it will last a lifetime. All zippers are welded and watertight. Two chest pockets, two shell pockets and two magnetic tuck-away call pockets keep you organized and focused on the sky. The fully adjustable hood rotates and swivels with you, so there’s no impediment to your vision. The cuffs have watertight gaskets that adjust to fit your wrist, so you can submerge your hand momentarily while working with deeks without getting water up the sleeve. Wear the Boreal Jacket over low loft insulating layers like the Traverse and Core shirts for all day comfort.

The addition of this jacket has taken the cold weather gear for waterfowl hunters to a new level. The idea that a hunter can now have a down jacket that is 100% waterproof is going to allow hunters to stay in the field longer and harvest more birds. The fit of the jacket is great and doesn't feel to bulky when wearing is. This will allow the hunter to have a full range of motion when drawing on approaching birds. The hood on the jacket provides excellent protection and actually moves with the hunter so that your view is not obstructed. Hunters will have ample pockets to store accessories for a full days hunt. Two fleece lined handwarmer pockets are set high on the jacket. The Boreal Jacket is designed to keep hunters warm, but you will still want to layer underneath to provide a hunting system. As a GORE gear tester, I have been able to use this jacket in all conditions including temps down to -20 and windchills in the -40 degree range. I was remarkably comfortable in the Boreal Jacket.
I used this jacket on an all day duck hunt during the blizzard that hit the St. Louis area on 1/5/14 and it kept me warm and dry all day with the core shirt and traverse shirt as layers underneath the jacket. Yes - it is pricey - however, all day long I kept thanking myself for the purchase. Highly recommended if you hunt during extremely cold/wet conditions!

A. All of our orders are shipped via FedEx. Standard Ground, 2-Day or Overnight deliveries are available. Additional charges do apply for express shipments, oversized items and/or duties & customs into Canada.
A. If you have entered a valid email address through the checkout process you will receive an email from FedEx with your tracking number when your shipment is processed.
A. We make every effort possible to get your order processed and shipped in a timely fashion. Most orders are shipped within 2 business days of order placement. If an item on your order is backordered or out of stock, you will be contacted by a Sitka Gear customer service associate to discuss alternative options.
A. Creating an account with us helps speed up the ordering process for you and allows you to keep track of your order history, as well as manage your profile information online.
A. Sometimes credit/debit card statements contain two transactions, but this is only a temporary scenario. When a purchase is made, an authorization is placed on your card to temporarily hold the funds on your account. This is not an actual charge on your card. Once the order has been shipped, this authorization becomes an approval and charges your account at that time. The authorization will drop off your account within 2-3 business days (depending on the financial institution).
