With a lightly brushed face to keep you stealth in the whitetail woods and a GORE-TEX® laminate, the Downpour Series is a perfect companion for quietly powering through a rain shower or heavy drizzle in your treestand.
- Brushed Polyester Knit Face
- Lightly Brushed Face
- Minimized Build for Packability
25.6 oz. ; Large
The Downpour Jacket is built to keep you bone dry in the stand while autumn’s storms roll wet and slow over your corner of the whitetail woods. The 100% waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX® laminate is silenced beneath a lightly brushed hydrophobic face fabric. Minimally built for packability, the Downpour can live in your pack until the moment dark clouds boil over.
The articulated patterning keeps you comfortable in the seated position, with extra length in the seat to shingle water off your back. Fitted forearms reduce string contact, while well-shaped elbows and shoulders maximize range of motion through the draw cycle. The drawstring hood seals out moisture from above and moves with you to prevent the obstruction of vision, while a single zippered chest pocket keeps your necessities close.

I live in a small, remote village on the Alaska Peninsula. Great rain gear is a must. Returns and exchanges are a hassle. I've been field testing this gear in a variety of weather conditions and activities for the past three months. Misses: 1) The sleeve cuffs wick moisture up the sleeve and onto whatever layer you’re wearing underneath - even on a short walk in moderate rain or wet snow. Annoying, to say the least, in the 30 to 50 degree temperatures typical out here. 2) From a company that boasts “athletic fit,” the pants should fit both the waist and the leg length of a fit person. I ordered the medium, which fits my waist. The pants are a good 2 inches short. I'm not Bill Walton - just a slightly above average 6 feet even. 3) The jacket pockets are roomy and bone dry. But the entrance is small, making storing and accessing even a small pair of binoculars, a field book, a point and shoot camera or a box of flies more difficult than it needs to be. 4) I don’t understand the design theory behind the looped cord on the Back of the hood. Yes, I get that this is to customize a snug fit. But… a loop on the back of the head? This is an invitation to get snagged every time I go through an alder thicket. It also gets hung up on the camera tripod (particularly the Wimberley head) I often sling over my shoulder when afield. Hits: 1) Except for the issue with the sleeves, this gear is dry. 2) And quiet. 3) Pockets are roomy and dry. 4) Overall fit is very comfortable and allows for excellent range of motion - great for fishing, wildlife photography, hunting and boating. Allows for appropriate layering in cold weather conditions 5) The Optifade camo is very effective against a wide range of backgrounds 6) Gear is lightweight and packs down fairly small. 7) Versatile. With layering, very comfortable in 20 degree F weather - even when wind pushes the chill factor down into single digits. Alternatively, with a light shirt, gear is comfortable in 45 - 65 degree temperatures. All factors considered, I can’t recommend this gear. The sleeve cuff wicking issue is not acceptable but should be an easy fix. The hood rear loop needs to be replaced with a less snag-prone system - and one that isn't in the back of the head. Make the jacket pocket entrances just a little larger so that even with glove liners a hand easily fits in and gear can be pulled out. Give us slim 6-footers considered to be "tall" an option for pants that actually fit.

Love this jacket, bought it for the GORE-TEX Waterproof but I'm hooked on everything else about this jacket! This jacket stops all wind, great as an outer layer. I've been wearing other camo from brands that are excellent sport companies, UA, and I'm now hooked with the Sitka name! This may be my first Sitka gear, but it is deff not my last! The only reason I'm giving this jacket a 3.5 instead of a 4 is the fact that its a little snug, I normally wear Large jackets but will deff need an XL to allow me to add more layers under this jacket.

I had my first downpour jacket and pants for over 6 years, they worked great. Wore them turkey hunting in the spring to late season moose and deer. I would layer with the core system. I recently just shot a nice whitetail buck at 15 yards. If your skeptical about the camo, it works. I have worn them in heavy, heavy rain for hours, everyone else complained about being wet and I was fine. Recently though, they did start to leak. I called customer service and they replaced the entire outfit, amazing customer service. Dont waste your money on other outfits, spend a little and gain a lot. I never have had such great customer service as Sitka. Thank You

Finally got to wear the Downpour Jacket and Pants yesterday with the first approach of Hurricane Matthew. At the Maryland public hunting area where I go, it was 15-25 mph winds, 55-65 degrees, and from steady to super heavy showers all day. Had the Core Lightweight Bottoms and the Core Midweight Zip T on underneath. I'm 6'2" and 260 pounds- 2XL all over. When I received the Downpour Jacket the first impression I had was, this could easily be an everyday outer shell piece from October to January. It's plenty quiet- even a little more so after washing twice before this first use. One of my standard whitetail strategies is to get up into the Loblolly Pine forests during showers. Light or heavy downpours doesn't matter. The deer seem to increase their movement in the corridor trails even more than normal. Yesterday was no exception. I was covered in does all day. More than a couple dozen from dawn to dusk. I had two mainframe 10s and huge, perfect 8 pointer get as close as 40 yards, but no clear shot. It's crazy tight in Loblolly forests. Rarely is there a shot beyond 20 yards. Where I was at, the longest lane was 29 yards. All three Hammers were simply out of reach. That's bow hunting. The positive takeaway was the performance of the rain gear. Absolutely flawless - dry and comfortable all day. I've never been more comfortable in a rainstorm. Normally my day would have been split up with a frantic 3 1/2 hour back to the house for a warm shower, new clothes, drive, and get back to the stand walk in the middle of the day. The gear eliminated that nonsense. Hoping it rains during Sika or Whitetail Rut.

Love my downpour jacket. Wish it had pit zips and a hole for my tree stand harness to fit through, so I could wear it under the jacket and have the hood up but its a great rain jacket! Quiet and fits great. I went a size up (M) so I can layer tons.
