Imagine a walking sleeping bag that’s waterproof, that’s the experience you get when wearing the Incinerator Bibs. Insulated and patterned for extended motionless sits in cold weather, and constructed with a GORE-TEX® laminate, you no longer have to shiver in agony.
The Incinerator Bib is our warmest whitetail bottom, locking you into a GORE-TEX® vault that’s insulated with 5.7 ounces of 700 fill power European goose down. Essentially a walking sleeping bag that’s 100% waterproof, the Incinerator is built for extended motionless sits when your ability to endure the cold determines whether you punch your tag.
Waterproof side zips make for easy on and off, as well as ventilation, since walking in this suit can lead to rapid overheating. An array of strategically placed cargo, chest, and hand pockets keep the essentials at the ready, while elastic urethane suspenders maintain the correct altitude. The lightly brushed polyester face remains quiet, even in a frigid, hushed wood when the slightest sound could ruin your chances.
“Between my boys and I, we always hunt until the bitter cold end of whitetail season. I believe outside of the rut, there is no better time to harvest a mature whitetail. The challenge has always been keeping warm and staying on stand. With the development of the Incinerator Series, the issue has been resolved. I simply walk into my stand with the Core or Traverse layers on and when I reached my destination quickly and quietly slip on my Incinerator gear. You don’t even have to take off your boots because the pants have a great zipper system. Late season bucks beware!"
- Sitka Athlete Bobby Warner
Great bibs with exceptional comfort and warmth. This past hunting season I paired the bibs with the blizzard parka and I was able to extend my time in the field simply because I could handle the elements better. It was like wearing a sleeping bag from my stomach down. I just can't express the flexibility and mobility I had when wearing them; typically I used to just layer up on long underwear, sweats, or anything I could get my hands on which hindered my flexibility. For example,I hunt using mainly tree steps or ladder steps, I have to be conscious of the spacing of my steps up a tree because as it gets colder, the less mobile I'm in my clothing. Using the layering system this year, along with the Incinerator, that was no longer a problem. So with this being said, the longer you can withstand the elements the greater your odds are of killing that animal you are pursing as we all know. Good luck and thanks Sitka team!! - M.I.BBSK
I like the form fitting of the bibs so they are easier to walk in. I have only worn them a couple times in below freezing temps. They would be very warm except the insulation doesn't come all the way down to my boots. It's about 4" short so my legs got cold where there is no insulation and could feel the wind coming through. They are made to be worn with rubber boots but I haven't found a pair that keeps my feet warm when its really cold out so I wear leather ones. If you have rubber boots they probably would be fine.
Nice comfortable fitting bibs, but I'm a little skeptical on how warm they are going to be. I've only warm them a few times the insulation stops about 4" short of my boots. They are definitely made to be worn with rubber boots which I usually wear but when its -20 I haven't found a pair that keeps my feet warm. When wearing leather boots the insulation stops short so my legs just above my boots got cold. If this wasn't the case they would easily get 4 stars but I'm a little upset that the insulation stops short.
Hey Nick - Thanks for reaching out. This is one of the reason's we do not post a temperature rating like Sleeping Bags because we all operate on a different thermostat. There are several variables that can affect ones experience and comfort. Your experience is of interest as I have sat in a stand in -5 degree temps for 6 to 7 hours in the Incinerator Series. With this said, it all depends on several variables highlighted below; 1) What were you wearing along with the Incinerator Jacket and Bibs? The wrong base layer, and intermediate layer could sweat out, causing you to loose heat 25 times faster than air. 2) What are your dimensions? If a garment is too snug, it might compress the insulation reducing the garments heat retention. If it's compressed and there is a mild to moderate wind you will be dramatically affected by Conductive cooling. The constant cold pressure from the wind will work it's way to you through conduction very quickly if the down is compressed. 3) How far of a hike did you have? If you build up any sweat hiking into the stand, that moisture will transfer heat away from the body 25 times faster than air. With all of this said, the 2015 will have a new Pattern, new features, and additional insulation. Along with an additional Ounce of insulation the type of insulation has a higher R or Clo value increasing it's warmth to weight ratio over the previous insulation. As for the 'noise' of the garment. It is something that is always a concern of ours and we are rather impressed with how quiet the Incinerator Jacket is. As a Waterproof/Breathable garment there is a slight amount of noise associated with this type of garment. It's simply a reality of the design. In the field with slight wind, birds, and other ambient noise it is very quiet. Many hunters have had major success with the Incinerator Series. Myself included. Not sure what the conditions were but confidence is crucial and we understand if the slightest noise is a concern of yours. The 2015 version does have a new lamination process that will reduce the noise slightly but with this type of construction there will always be a little noise. The rest of our line up, including the Fanatic Series with a higher brushed fleece and no GORE-TEX, it is focused on silence and authenticity. The 2015 Fanatic Series might be the right path? Let us know what you think?
Very comfortable fit and very light weight, however not as warm as expected in upper teens in a tree stand. Outside material is loud (squeaky actually), while inside liner has that high pitch nylon jacket sound while moving, even if the jacket itself remains still, simply moving your shoulders or arms will be audible at 15+ yards. Walking in the bibs or shifting weight on your legs in the stand is equally noisy. The grunt tube pockets are "crinkly" in colder temps. The leg zippers are sticky and stubborn, as are the chest and upper bib zippers, though the pockets on the bibs are very nice and conveniently placed. I returned the set due to noisy material, and not really very warm in late season. Close but no cigar...
Great late season bibs. The two best things for older hunters is full length side zippers and full front zipper. Very easy on and off. Would be great to see a full front zipper on all bibs. Would be nice to see in adds, which bibs sport a full frontal zipper.
I had the opportunity to test the jacket and bibs in late season deer hunting in the Midwest when temps were single digits with snow, sleet, rain, and strong winds. I can honestly say that this is the best cold weather late season gear I have ever used. I was able to sit in the harsh late season weather and tagged a buck! I could not have stayed out without the Sitka Gear!
These are just plain awesome. Great weight to warmth ratio and super comfortable. I guide elk in Montana and ended up wearing these a lot more than I thought I would. The side zips make them easy to put on over boots and layers. I often hunted in 90% pants in below zero weather and put the incinerator bibs on when i needed to sit. when the weather was more reasonable i wore them as my main pants. The side zips allow great ventilation so that you can hike in them in cold weather. Then zip up while you wait for your opportunity. They held up great in the snow. These were great hunting pants when the weather was below freezing. And exceptional when the temps were negative.
I purchased these bibs along with the jacket a few years ago. Since then I have used them in the tree stand to all night fishing trips. I can honestly say I NEVER leave home on a late season hunting or fishing trip without them. I have sat thru a dozen or more rain storms and two snow storms and they have kept me dry and warm. I recommend using layers on days colder than 35* if you are just sitting. Overall bad weather does not keep me outta the woods or off the water when I have this system with me.
