Why We Made This

Wet and frigid conditions have long been celebrated by late season waterfowl hunters. By upgrading our Boreal Jacket to an innovative synthetic insulation that uses trapped air to replicate the warmth and compressibility of down, we’re able to add warm-when-wet performance — plus reduce bulk and weight. Now you can move more freely when setting your spread, feel less restricted when shouldering a shotgun and stay comfortable in the blind during sustained snow or freezing rain.

I bought 2, one 2xl and one xl. Guess I’m hard to fit. Love both jackets, really warm and waterproof. Only problem for me is sleeve length, 2xl chest fits but sleeves too long. XL sleeves just right but chest too small. Like I said I’m hard to fit. Great products!

Good jackets aren’t cheap and cheap jackets aren’t good. This is a goooooood jacket! Took this out for a 16 degree duck morning with a hefty breeze. Only had a t-shirt under. I’d give it 7 stars if I could. It’s a warm solid jacket. Doesn’t feel bulky. Easy to move in and the quality is unmatched.

This jacket screams quality and warmth. I bought this along with the boreal pants for late season hunts. It fits well and has warmth without the bulk. I’ve been using primaloft for years in my daily jackets because it works so well. I’d recommend this jacket to anyone.

Pretty fantastic jacket for cold waterfowling. I have one complaint and that is that it has the loops for integrated call straps but not come with the straps?
I've worn it in 30 degree rain, no snow yet but the shell shed water well. Good layout of pockets for shotgun shells, etc.

If you’re hunting in the cold and/or extreme cold get this jacket worth every penny. I’m doing a late review as I wanted to use it first. This jacket kills it on all fronts. It compresses well into my waders, stays warm when wet (literally), and does it job keeps me warm. It took a couple hunts to figure out how to layer since this jacket keeps me warm in -10°F just fine with normal layering. While on a hunt I got the jacket completely submerged in the river in about 10-20°F and I didn’t want to end early so kept hunting and it still kept me warm. It also dried super fast just by hang drying so I was ready to go the next day. I like it so much I’ll use it for skiing as well. all I need to wear is just the jacket and I’m set.
If you’re on the fence, cry once and buy it.

Love this Jacket wind does not blow through it. On the Coast with 30mph wind, 100% humidity you are warm and it does not restrict movement. Does not feel a heavy Jacket.

Wore this coat the past two days in 15-20°F and snowing the entire time and loved it. My only complaint is that when putting out decoys in the morning I was too warm and was sweating. I wore a t-shirt, long underwear, long sleeve t shirt and sitka quarter zip under it. I’m 5’11” 200lbs and wear an XL and it fits perfect.

I’m from southern GA and travel a good bit. Bought this for when we go up north. Midweight shirt underneath and the boreal is 100% the way to go. 19 degrees and was super lightweight warm and not bulky.

I bought this jacket for duck and caribou hunting in the northern side of the Brooke's Range on the north slope. 4 days ago it was -52°F at my house in North Pole, AK about 10 miles south of Fairbanks. I decided to really put it to the test and with a lightweight hoody, grinder hoody, gradient jacket and last but certainly not least my Boreal Aerolite Jacket I was outside for over a hour working on firewood and was perfectly warm. Thank you Sitka! For reference, -52°F is so cold that if you throw a cup of hot coffee in the air it never hits the ground because it evaporates in seconds. The gear stood up to temperatures that are, simply put, not survivable without shelter or a fire in a matter of minutes. Great job Sitka and keep up the good work!

This jacket is awesome and very warm. I have worn it on three hunts. All of them have either been raining or below freezing. Do not have to layer up to stay warm with it!

Well let me start off by saying I’m a Sitka-Holic, absolutely love their gear. I own the Delta Wading jacket, Duck Oven Jacket, Hudson Jacket, and now the Boreal Aerolite Jacket. Is that overkill? Probably, but I love them all and they all have a specific purpose. I bought this Boreal Aerolite Jacket for cold, late season hunts. I don’t mind admitting I’m a sissy when it comes to the cold. I’ve done a few layout blind hunts in big, open water where it’s windy/wet and this jacket is all it’s advertised to be. I’m 6’6 195 pounds I ordered XXL because I have found sometimes Sitka sizes run small, it is a touch baggy. I would have been curious to see how an XL would have fit but just decided to keep it and now that I’ve worn it a few times I’m happy with the fit. Plenty of pockets and a very nice hood. I would have liked a couple lanyards for calls but no big deal. Yes it’s more money than your average jacket but it’s not your average jacket, with the quality I can see wearing it for a very long time.
