This is not for a run and gun set up. The straps are excessive, too many metal buckles. Can't really hang the stand and leave the stand strapped to the frame, you'll be stepping on straps or buckles or you have to weave the straps through the stand platform. This pack is not designed for that. This pack is for hauling a stand into the woods. The pack itself is fine. The inside is compartmentalized pretty well and it is a comfortable pack. Just a little disappointed with the design. The design is based around how to carry a bulky stand to a tree, not how to be an efficient mobile hunter.

Just finished my first full season with this. The bag portion is great and serves my needs perfectly. The frame/straps are also great once it is attached to a stand or to the bag. The main problem is that it is not super easy to remove/reattach to either, but especially a stand. I typically hunt "run and gun" style but often want to leave a stand to return to in the future, and the attachment system is just too cumbersome to detach/reattach quickly and quietly in the field. I will probably go to the tool box and just outfit all of my stands with better backpack straps and waist belts.

Absolutely a must have for the all day hunter! So convenient and easy to organize. No more searching around and making all kinds of unnecessary noise in the stand. Strategically placed and you have minimal movement to retrieve anything you may need on those long days in the stand.

This is a well built pack, with excellent quality xippers andit includes many features. As a result of the features and the construction, it is heavy for it's size and I do not like that. I find the large front opening zipper to be tedious and prefer a more traditional pack like the flash series. Most of the zippered pockers inside which are designed for organization, are not useful for me and only add weight with zippers and materials. I hope more packs in EVII become available as well as a bino bivy in EVII.

This is my third season using this bag. It allows me to get to and into my stand completely hands free. My bow, stand seat, extra clothes, food, camera arm and camera plus all necessities during the whitetail season fit into or on this pack. Easy to access items when open and hanging from a gear hook. Compression straps help secure extra gear when on long walks in. I have not taken advantage of the ability to sandwich a stand between the pack and frame but looks like it would work great for a hang and hunt.

It is a well organized bag that can fit a lot of gear. I will give it that.. But attaching the frame to the stand is a pain. You don't want to take it off once you attach it. So when I want to go to a stand that is already set up, I have to either take the frame off my run and gun setup or carry the bag by hand. Both are a pain but honestly, carrying the bag is easier. It would be nice if Sitka sold the frame individually so you can add multiple frames on multiple stands, or can just zip on your extra frame to your pack if you want to use the backpack as a normal backpack. The whole setup is also a lot heavier than I'd like for a run and gun setup. That being said, if you are someone that is just looking for a nice pack for the treestand and aren't concerned about removing the frame, or weight (its not bad by itself but when you add a stand and sticks it is extremely heavy) then this is a phenomenal pack.

Great pack but it is heavy, even empty. I suppose the weight is from the frame used to haul a stand which is built it, but still it is hard to believe how heavy it can become when loaded with pretty light gear.

I use mine to shoulder my stand on every single hunt. I do NOT use the pack, as it's simply too much bag for me so I end up stuffing my cargo pockets. I'd LOVE another bag that could attach that would be smaller for warmer weather conditions. Perhaps it could double as a fanny pack.

If this feature were built, it would be 4star IMO.

I purchased this bag before the 2017 deer season. I was looking for a bag that could hold lots of equipment in an orderly manner. This bag hits the nail on the head. You can carry countless pieces of gear to be ready for whatever mother nature throws at you. This is crucial once November rolls around, and all days sits become crucial for harvesting mature whitetails. While many packs can hold a large quantity of items most seem cluttered and can hardly zip once full. With this pack I can comfortably carry my Ozonics, rain suit, scent elimination spray, multiple knives, safety belt, safety harness, bow hanger, several drinks, snacks and my quiver. If this isn't enough you can then carry a tree stand by separating the pack. For a person who hunts hangs a lot of sets and likes all day sits, this bag is a must buy.

Not worth the price but a decent pack. You know what would make it awesome? How about making different size bags that would zip onto the frame and a better way to secure the access strap when everything is tied down.

I am a huge Sitka gear fan. Almost all of my hunting clothes are Stika. I was very excited about the pack as it would be great for tree stands hunting and able to carry in my stand. After 3 seasons I have 3 reasons for moving on.
1) Quality is not up to the clothes line. Most zipper pulls have broke. The pack is ripped by the tree hook grommet. The zipper to zip the pack to shoulder straps will not stay down.
2) If you put a large jacket it the pack, like my Sitka Fanatic, it falls out when you open the toolbox. I would have loved a mesh to keep the jacket it. If you jam a jacket in and pull it out on the stand, something always ends up on the ground.
3) The pockets are too small for how I want to use them.

The back is my emergency back up pack.

Like most whitetail hunters out there, I spent too many years lugging around a backpack that was less than sub par. Constantly searching for that one thing I needed in the bottom of the bag under everything else that was jammed into it's single compartment. 2 years ago I finally decided to put an end to the suffering and so I picked this bag up. I seriously get excited to use it everyday I go out, its pockets are so perfectly engineered for everything under the sun and I can easily load it with everything but the kitchen sink and still have perfect comfort thanks to the ergonomic hip belt and shoulder straps. Longer more awkward items that I used to carry by hand such as tripods and camera arms now get tightly strapped into the side pockets on the outside of the pack. When hunting with a run and gun setup, the detachable back with the Hang-On Treestand straps is nothing short of genius.

All in all a remarkable piece of gear that I put my trust in every single day in the field.

Very easy to use in the stand. I hunt out of a saddle and putting this on the side of the tree makes it so I can swing around and easily navigate through my stuff.

I did not care for this pack, it is way too bulky and heavy, and you really can't fit all that much in it unless you cram it in there. I didn't even attempt to attach my lone wolf tree stand to it, too many zippers/straps. The quality of the pack is great, it just does not suit my needs, I'd prefer something more simple/light weight.

Pretty solid back pack. I can carry all my camera gear and a hang on with no problem. I really like the design of the lid. I've always hated unzipping a backpack in the tree stand due to noise so I primarily keep the lid closed with the tassle and elastic cord. The shoulder straps are comfortable as well.

A must for any whitetail hunter! This pack has numerous pockets to keep all of your necessities separated, but still easily accessible. The inside has plenty of room for anything you may need on your hunt. Being able to carry your stand and climbing sticks on your back to leave your hands free for your bow and other necessities is a huge plus. Aside from what I've mentioned, the pack is very comfortable and can easily be used on long hauls.

It is probably just me, but I hated this pack. I have purchased tons of Sitka items over the years, and I consider this one of my worst purchases. Only behind the previous version of the Toolbox. I gave it two stars because it was quality made, and I like the camo pattern. That is where it ends for me. Maybe if I were a tree stand hunter all the time, I may have a different opinion. Even if I were, the whole process of carrying a stand on this appeared to cumbersome. Although it was not perfect, the old Flash 20 fit my hunting style much better than this. I disliked this pack so much, I sold it after eight hunts and started using the Sitka Alpine ruck.

a 4 star rating does not even begin to describe how happy I am with this pack. This pack allows me to strap my stand, climbing sticks and my bow for the long trips into the thickest cover by allowing me to keep both hands free where normally I would be carrying my bow and my climbing sticks. Once in the stand, the pack is exactly what I needed for the all day sits. After seeing how easy this is to setup, 2 of my hunting partners also purchased them and are equally as happy as I am. Just one more great innovation from Sitka.
