The big brother of the Flash 20, the Flash 32 sports many of the same features, but adds more volume for longer forays. The Flash 32 employs a beefier tension frame system for heavier loads, a compression wing design for lightened loads, and the fully adjustable quick-release gun/bow cable system. Enabled for a 3 liter hydration bladder, this pack has proven itself for guides and outfitters that find themselves carrying gear for two.
The Flash 32 is Sitka’s answer for the demands of a mid-volume backcountry dayback. With 3200 cubic inches of allocated load space, the Flash 32 is helping support and raise the bar for a new breed of backcountry hunter. Designed to carry day and overnight gear, the Flash 32 also offers partitioned spotting scope/tripod pockets, and side access to the main compartment as well as top. Quick release buckles and quick throw zipper pulls are just a couple of the pack’s amenities for when the clock starts ticking. A Ventilated back suspension, and hydration enabled design make the Flash 32 a prime candidate for any mid to large-size pack demands.
I was hesitant about the price of the flash 32 but have used and abused this pack for the last 3 months and it is absolutely bulletproof. I live and hunt in the Appalachian mountains of the east coast and was pleased that the open country pattern had more green in the pattern than I anticipated. I chase whitetail deer, black bear and turkeys almost every day of the season. This pack is very comfortable and can hold a heavy jacket, bibs and down vest very easily as well as three liters of water and anything that you could possibly stuff into it. I can honestly say that I have abused this pack and it doesn't have a scratch on it. For any one in the eastern united states looking for a quality pack, the open country pattern looks great and functions well. This pack is above and beyond all packs out there! I am not a gore tester nor do I have any affiliation with gore.
It would take a lot of writing to tell the story of my flash 32 pack. I mainly use this pack as a day pack when guiding elk and deer. This pack is very comfortable and organizes great. It can also hold a ton of gear without feeling bulky. I have used and abused this pack and although it looks worn, it is still 100% and works perfect. If all this isn't enough... This pack does exactly what they say and more. I have packed more elk quarters than I can remember with this pack. Not only does it work to pack out quarters but I believe it works better than most pack frames. I have used both and this pack is hands down the most comfortable way and most efficient way to pack meat out. Drop in a quarter, back straps and loose meat and zip up as far as you can, tighten the straps. Then strap the head and cape on the outside. To say the least, this pack has impressed me over the past three seasons.
The Flash 32 is a phenomenal pack for day hunts to quick overnights in the mountains. I hammered mine last fall on multiple hunts from sheep and elk to even sneaking around the antelope hills. The overall design is super well thought out from the harness and mesh back to the tidy pockets for all necessities. It's a can't miss pack for the western hunter!
This is the finest hunting pack I have ever used. I wore it during an archery hunt when I covered 10+ miles/day. It is super comfortable. I was amazed at how securely the gun/bow cable carries each. A gun or bow rides very securely and you do not need to worry about your weapon shifting or falling off as you are ducking under trees and negotiating difficult terrain. My hunting partners and I packed out 3 elk this year. This pack comfortably carried front quarters or bone out meat on the first trip out then returned with pack frames for the hind quarters.
I bought this pack when it first came out years ago, I have worn it over 100's of miles in the backcountry, I have used this pack for many overnighters including two 6 day hunts and one 10 day trip into the high country which was close to a 60lb load and I never had a hot spot. The frame on this pack along with the mesh back makes for cool comfortable trips. I have packed elk with this pack and it performed flawlessly, we had a Griz stake claim on our elk so we had to make a quick quarter job and pack it back to camp in a hurry, I lashed the front quarter with ribcage on this and boogied out of there, my brothers brand new blacks creek pack had a shoulder strap bust halfway to camp and the stitching on 2 of his lash straps gave way with the same load, I didn't have one problem with this thing! I recommend this pack to everyone I run into!
I have hiked many miles with many packs. This new pack from Sitka is fantastic. Its comfortable, keep air flowing so less heat against your body, and abundant room. A great pack overall!!
I took the pack out into the Alaska backcountry for blacktail deer hunting. On the plus side, the pack fit extremely well. I had a full survival kit, sat phone, hunting gear and lunch on board, and it all fit well. The suspension is great, and I did not notice the weight. On the negative side, in the rain, the fabric saturated quickly and stayed wet for days. Also, the rifle carrying system put the rifle barrel too high, so that it snagged on brush all the time. I didn't really like the rain fly pocket in the top, it got in the way. But since the rainfly was constantly deployed, it really didn't matter. All in all, a good solid pack.
With my first year of having a true Sitka system in my possession I decided that I wanted a pack as well. I knew this year I would be going out on day hunts only so I went with the Flash 32. I was very surprised with this pack to say the least. First and foremost was the comfort. The pack rode very nicely keeping the weight on my hips and very comfortable on my shoulders. Having the smaller shoulder straps also allowed me to shoot with the pack on. The next thing that really stood out was the room. I carried a spotting scope, tripod, daily food, 3 liters of water fit great in the bladder pocket, rain gear, extra clothes, as well as the normal first aid and fire making materials. All with room to spare. I also enjoyed the many features the pack has to offer, like the waist belt pockets were perfect for keeping extra muzzleloading components and my reeds, the rain fly was a great feature as we were in a constant drizzle for the first four days. I also used the gun carrying strap multiple times with no worry of the gun coming out. This pack exceeded my expectations and will be a staple of mine for many more of these types of hunts. I am a GORE HuntingTech.
I picked up my Flash 32 pack the other day from my favorite archery shop and was finally able to get out and test it today. I am not one who will normally write reviews, but I was so pleased with this pack that I felt like I had to. I loaded it down with 50lbs. and hiked 8 miles in the Idaho back country with no shoulder pain. My back stayed cooler and less sweaty than my old pack because it leaves a gap between your back and the bag. I highly recommend this pack. I couldn't be happier with it. My wife is already sick of hearing about how much I love it.
