The first thing I have to say is that Sitka customer service is the best I have ever seen. Ordered this jacket last june and didnt get the chance to try it out during archery elk and whitetail season. I realized this winter that the jacket was just to small for adequate layering. I contacted Sitka customer service and they exchanged it for the next size up no questions asked. Unbelievable service to say the least. As for the jacket, I have used it on several occasions with the cloudburst pants in a complete down pour and haven't got even the slightest bit wet. My father and brother also have the Cloudburst jacket and pants and they are completely satisfied with it as well. Great Product

Amazing waterPROOF jacket packed in a lightweight and bombproof setup. It has all the features I need in a waterproof shell without weighing a bunch or leaving me wishing I had certain features. Winner for sure

This is an exceptionally well designed jacket, very innovative and plenty of practical features to satisfy most.I have to agree however with other reviewers that the noise level generated by the material is of concern. As a deer hunter, I feel that I will be compromising my approach throughout the walk in to tree stands.

The Cloudburst jacket was the first piece of gear I purchased from Sitka that didn't fall into the glove, beanie, balaclava category (which are all of exceptional quality as well). I am incredibly impressed with this piece. I'm familiar with many other brands of outdoor clothing (Patagonia, TNF, Marmot etc.) and quality and design ingenuity of this jacket trump them all. The only other gear company I think of that makes products on par with Sitka is Arc'teryx. And as a serious hunter and outdoor enthusiast, finding Arc'teryx quality in hunting gear.... I can't imagine a better product. Sitka, you've got it figured out. I don't think ill purchase outdoor clothing from anyone else in the future.

I just got back from a Moose hunt in Newfoundland Canada. The Island was hit with the remnants of Hurricane Matthew on Sunday and Monday. They received a record breaking rainfall of over 7 inches which I hunted in both days. I hunted on top of a mountain where the wind was blowing around 40 MPH and the rain was coming at me sideways. I hunted both days hanging my Cloudburst gear to dry overnight by the wood stove. The Cloudburst rain gear was fantastic. The only issue I had was a wet spot in my crouch area where the zipper is. When I took off the gear everyone was amazed at the fact that I was still dry. I'm a Sitka fan for life. It's worth every penny.

I own a lot of Sitka gear but they missed the boat on this one. Great design and fit... stealthy it is NOT. I have owned many Gore-Tex jackets from urban to hunting, and this is by far the noisiest. if you are hunting long range, this jacket would work. If you are a bow hunter like myself, I'm pretty sure the game will hear you coming.

Hey all, Bought this jacket for this hunting season 2016. I live in California and hunt the Mendocino mountains. A few weekends ago if it wasn't pouring it was slateing, and if it wasn't slateing it was a blizzard. This jacket saved me.. I keep it in my bivy 4500 rolled up. For suprise storms like this.. I can't feel it in my pack and it super light when wearing it etc. I didn't sweat or get damp and absolutely recommend this jacket

Just back from a Caribou hunt in Nunavut. Caught up in that bit of poor weather they had the 5th through the 14th, rain, sleet, snow and a fair amount of wind. I lived in my thermals, Timberline pants, Jetstream,(used it as my shirt), and my Cloudburst(jacket and pants) wind/raingear. Cloudburst raingear For some reason seemed to wet out almost immediately, not much DWR on the material. I did not take this stuff off due to the wind and weather. I adjusted my layers relative to my exertion level; 23 miles on tundra first two days. I stayed warm and dry, liked the hood adjustability, plenty of room for both pair of gloves in the hand pockets and my rangefinder in one of the chest pockets. The DRW was the only weak point. Yep-my partner and I were the only guys that filled both tags.

Wore this jacket and matching pants last night while it rained for about two hours and I was bone dry the entire time. Never had something work so well to keep me dry. The gear itself is not cheap but trust me it's worth buying because it's extremely durable and your dry when you get back to your vehicle. To me being comfortable is worth its weight in gold.

After A LOT of research and wearing other brands of "less expensive" (ok, cheap) rain gear, ordered Sitka's Cloudburst pants and jacket. Should have just done it from the start and been done...this is an EXCELLENT set!!! Comfortable, breathable, versatile, and most importantly, DRY, inside and out. Pit Zips on the jacket and full length zippers on the pants means you can adjust your internal temp and not overheat. Wore in warm temp August light rain, moderate temp Septemer downpours, and now ready for cool October turkey and elk, and cold November Coues deer and elk hunts. Be attentive to base and mid-layers and the Cloudburst set will not let you down. PS...It is not designed as a truly light-packable set but, when rolled or folded tightly, can be stuffed in a pack.

I Hunt western and northern alberta and this coats been great especially sheep hunting in the mountains. Still keeping me dry and has held up pretty well. Have t had a coat for hunting this reliable as far as keeping me dry. The coats been great year round and has been worth the price tag. The one pocket zipper broke this year while I was hiking but other than that no complaints.

I hunt primarily in the western states where weather goes from dry to wet and back again. I started wearing this jacket as my primary wet weather garment and it is without a doubt the best coat for wet weather I've worn. I have taken it the from the of coast of Washington to Utah and it straight performs. The other thing about this coat I appreciate is the breathable fabric that wicks moisture away from the body during tough hikes. I cant say enough about your products because they are simply the standard for western hunters that demand a dynamic product.

I call the Cloudburst Jacket and Pants my "hunt savers" when out west. I had the chance to test that theory this past September. We headed out of the wall tent in a pre-dawn downpour with temps in the 40s. I was wearing the merino base layer, mountain pants and a traverse hoodie under my Cloudburst rainsuit. We immediately undertook a nearly 500 foot nearly vertical climb then stopped to glass at the top. I had generated a significant sweat and the rain was relentless. After standing still for almost an hour, I was very surprised to find that the combination of a moisture wicking base layer with the Goretex Cloudburst had worked to perfection. My base layer was only slightly damp and the Cloudburst had allowed my excess heat to escape while keeping the cold rain out. Another half an hour of easy hiking had allowed me to walk myself dry. I have tried a lot of different raingear over the course of my hunting career and have finally found the perfect set up. The convenient pockets allow me to keep necessities at the ready while keeping everything else dry. Nice work fellas!

Spent a week in Newfoundland and only saw the sun one day, this jacket is superb!!! Very high winds and drenching rain in both cold temps and warmer humid conditions this gear performed very well. I managed to tear the pants but only under absolute abuse that anything would tear under. The hole after days and many miles never got any larger and the zippers are fantastic with no sign of leakage. Pockets are good also and with a large hand the jacket pockets are easily accessible.

Was unable to hunt in this jacket this past year, but I have been able to get out and shed hunt in it. It is certainly living up to its name and with Gore Technology, you can rest assure that the body will be protected always. Comfortable fit, articulated elbows and shoulders allows for ample movement with pit-zips to allow for cooling if needed. The integrated hood is a bombproof design and allows easy stowing when not needed. Of course the Sitka warranty makes this a very hard to beat item for your inventory!

Very comfortable item,I haven't worn anything but Sitka since my first try. Every item just feels like it's supposed to be where it is. My only issues are, very noisy material, and it's also not very durable, the garment itself is as tough as it gets but the outer material is not, not to be worn in any brush. The pants I have, have a small thorn sized hole in the thigh caused by a blackberry thorn. The threads pull out of material w/the slightest of ease, which I believe is just the camo pattern and doesn't affect waterproofness? Very disappointing when this happens on 1st time out,on such an expensive item.If not for this would be a 5 star item.

The Cloudburst systems work fantastic for keeping wetness and wind out and off you. I wore the system in the driving rain for 2 days Columbia Black Tail Hunting on the Nor Cal Coast in late Sept 2013 and then again in a blizzard for my 3rd season elk hunt in Colorado's high country. These are great garments and very adaptable to your needs. Be sure you have other layers for warmth however, the Cloudburst pants and jacket will keep you dry but will not otherwise provide warmth.

Purchased the Cloudburst to start building my system. This has been a great buy so far. We currently are experiencing a very wet late winter, early spring up here in the Idaho Mountains. The jacket has been performing very well. I actually tested the jacket by standing under my roof line with the rain water just pouring on me. Looking forward to adding to my system in the very near future.

I have to echo what Sitka Customer Service said. I would say you got defective garments. I have just had to replace two full Gore-Tex sets of garments. My Gore-Tex jacket and pants that I use kayaking, hiking/backpacking, that I purchased in 1994, and my Cabela's Gor-Tex camo set that had lost all waterproof integrity that I purchased in 2009. Gore stepped up to the plate HUGE and have, (after getting a Return Authorization from them to have them inspected), replaced both sets with garments of my choice, no questions asked. The operative being MY choice. That is Gore's iron-clad guarantee. I am replacing my Cabela's gear with Sitka. What I do now with all my new Gore products is put them on and climb in the shower for a minimum of ten minutes. If they don't perform return them. Again, I can't speak highly enough about Gore's customer service or their promise. The Old Guy

Hey Vose - Thank you for your submission. We always appreciate feedback and comments. It's truly the only way to improve gear. We would love to hear more about your experience with the Cloudburst Jacket? Where it's leaking, the conditions you were in, and any other valuable information. I highly recommend contacting our warranty department with any concerns you ever have. Leaks in rain gear can simply be a defect with the GORE-TEX membrane and hands down is covered under warranty.

This fully featured rain jacket is my go to piece of gear when the precipitation starts to fall. The Cloudburst gear is full of great features yet very packable for the backpacking and weight conscious hunter. I wore the jacket and pants for a weekend of deer hunting in the rain and remained bone dry the entire time. I was able to easily wear the jacket and pants over the other gear I was wearing and didn't feel constricted at any point. The fact that the fabric stretches a little bit gives you a lot of comfort and ease in moving around. As a Gore gear tester I have tried other Gore-Tex based products, and this is hands down my favorite for packable raingear.
