Why We Made This

Hunters need a lightweight packable layering solution for the oft-changing conditions of sitting on their stand. We developed the Celsius Midi to be extra versatile, warm and packable with PrimaLoft® Silver Active insulation. We tapered the sleeves for clean and easy draws while archery hunting and the smooth face makes layering super easy. The addition of the safety harness port permits donning and doffing while in the stand, and a DWR finish sheds light precipitation and prevents the face fabric from wetting-out.

A lot of people have already asked me how this jacket (and the fanatic system) performed in cold weather with it being so thin. I can say this.....wearing the heavyweight base layers, fanatic bibs, fanatic hoody and the Celcius Jacket I was more than comfortable for a 6 hour sit in 21 degree weather. This jacket doesnt bind or make much noise when you draw a bow! The sleeves are long enough for me at 6' 3". I would recommend this jacket (and setup) to anyone who is serious about late season whitetails.

This is one of my new favorite pieces of hunting gear. It is super light and packs up small. I pack in my outerwear and dress in the stand. This doesn’t look like much, but it’s warm. I use it as an outer jacket around 50 degrees over just my lightweight thermals and as a mid layer under my Fanatic over just Sitka mid weight thermals when it’s around 20°F. I have way less bulk running this system. Really wicks away moisture too. It’s always wet when I strip down and stays warm all day. I’d be cautious around thorns. It’s quiet, warm, and wicking, but I wouldn’t think it’s tough enough for briars. I’m cautious when tracking and remove it for dragging.

I was back and forth on whether to buy the MIDI for some time. Well, it’s probably my favorite piece for my whitetail system! It may not have the features that some of the other pieces of whitetail gear have but simply put this thing is warm. It makes a big difference and honestly makes every other piece of my whitetail system better for super minimal weight. Don’t hesitate.

It's a decent jacket. Good intent, not entirely good execution. The material is not near as nice as the Midi Pant. It's also entirely different insulation type and thickness. Midi Jacket and Pants should be a matching set as this feels like it's two entirley different lines of clothing. Also, I get the thumb holes are meant to help layer over top but they are unnecessary and a pain. There's already too much bunched up in the wrist and hand area from gloves to layered sleeves to trying to put everything into a muff. For those that use a wrist release I can't imagine using one with this jacket. This jacket needs to be re-thought and patterned after the pant design.

I’d recommend this piece to anyone. I hunt Michigan stands a lot deep into the firearm season. The stratus jacket on its own over the fanatic hoodie wasn’t quite enough even with cold gear base layer. Added this to the mix and it’s going to get me down to as cold as I’d ever hunt in.

It’s light and easy to pack. The performance fit worried me because I’m not small. 6’2”, 240 lbs with a little bulk in the middle. I usually feel like a sausage in tight performance fit clothing. The XL fit me great over an XLT Fanatic Hoodie and under my XLT Stratus Jacket.

After I got it I tried it on over a light base layer with the stratus vest overtop and was super impressed how warm it was! For the weight of the jacket and the size that it is able to pack down to, you can’t go wrong. Highly recommend the Midi Jacket.

Awesome jacket! It is very warm and very easy to layer. I can wear this as a stand alone jacket or use it to layer when the temps drop in the 20's. Its very lite and packable. I can roll it up and pack it in during the mid season and get it out in the evenings when it cools down a bit. The harness port makes it super easy to stay connected. I like the thumb holes for layering and for when i wear my gloves. It seems to add just a bit more warmth to my arms and hands. This is one of my favorite pieces of gear.

The Celsius midi is a great piece for layering and can be a good outer layer if you are not getting into briars and any rough brush. I wore this a few times as my outer layer but most often it was my mid layer. I ended up buying the Cold Weather Hoodie to wear in place of this and the Fanatic hoodie in colder temps, mainly to reduce a layer and get the thicker hood/mask combo of the CWH. With temps below 25F I would add this over the base heavyweight Merino top and Cold Weather Hoodie and under my Stratus jacket. Perfect, even if four layers. Easily shed if the morning warmed up,

Negatives: The thumb hole aspect is great. But the length is too short. I think this jacket should be offered in "Tall" sizes so that the extra inch or two in sleeve length and thumb hold comfort would work much better. Wearing this jacket on it's own over just a base layer for me, in a Large, had the sleeve/thumb hole being uncomfortable and too tight. Normally I order a "Tall" if it's available and this piece would be perfect in a longer sleeve option.

A solid lightweight insulating layer. I am 6 ft 175lbs and the large fits me perfect. I wear a size large Sitka hoody under it and a size large stratus coat over top. This keeps me warm through mid-nov in MN. Once the temps go below freezing, I’d probably opt for the Fanatic coat.

Solid layering jacket, I can’t say this is an outer layer until you’re in your stand or blind. It will hold up to rubbing against brush or some tree limbs, but if you’re going through thick brush and thorns to get to your stand put this in your pack. The tapering on the sleeves is so nice when compared to other similar puffy style mid layers currently available. I also can’t believe how silent this piece is. Overall it’s a great piece of gear to add to your arsenal as a whitetail hunter.

This is the perfect layering jacket. It is tapered in the arms to avoid excess bulk, and a streamline approach needed by bowhunters. It is very light an packable, but still very warm. Pack it in with your outer jacket and start with both when the morning sun comes up. If it heats up some, remove your outer jacket and just hunt in this jacket. Great addition to my system!

Real nice jacket and it has kept me warm but the down or insulation is coming out of the jacket everywhere. Durability should be a little lower. I’ve been using this jacket for 2 years now and overall it is a nice jacket, except for the durability.

This jacket is great. The only problem is it's durability. The website has it listed at a 3/5. My first day out with it the fabric on the arm snagged on something while climbing into the tree stand and ripped in two place. I didn't feel any tugs and didn't notice the tears until after several hours of being in the stand. Other than the durability issues this is a great jacket. The fit is great and kept me warm on a windy day in the 30s. I'm 165lbs, 5' 10" and bought a medium. I've heard great things about Sitka customer service, but they haven't impressed me with this.

I can honestly say this is the single most versatile piece that I have from Sitka and it's also my favorite piece. I wear this jacket from the first day of the season until the last and on out from there. This jacket folds up super compact and it lives in my pack all season for all occasions. It is perfect for those early season mornings and evenings when the sun is behind the horizon and you need just that extra layer of warmth. I wear it as my walk in layer from mid-late season when I don't want to sweat walking in and then leave it on as an insulation layer. I even wear it as a light jacket getting to and from classes around campus in the winter time and its keeps me far warmer than some of the other heavier jackets I have do. I wore this jacket over a light weight t-shirt along with my fanatic vest, it was 28 degrees and light snow, wow was I impressed. Later in the season I hunted a very cold windy day here in the north east, 11 degrees, had my Sitka base layers, equinox pants and this jacket on for the walk in. When I got to my stand I topped it off with my fanatic bibs and jacket, stayed toasty warm even with that biting wind. Topped it off with the fanatic hat, these products are very well made and worth every penny in my opinion.

This jacket is definitely as Sitka says, a "puffy" jacket. That being said, I do really like this jacket and I think it would be most hunter's best friend in October through early to mid November. My ideal temperature range for this jacket is 65-40 degrees and down into the 30's with either no wind, or with the stratus vest or jet stream vest when it's windy in the 30's. It is the perfect jacket for the mid season as a whitetail hunter but is not meant for the late season, unless it is used as a mid layer piece under the Stratus Jacket or Fanatic Jacket. I was originally going to buy the Celsius Midi jacket but I figured it would be warmer than this one and I wanted a jacket I could wear in warmer temperatures so I went with the Celsius Jacket instead. My only knock on this jacket is where the insulation is cut out on the sides. I'm not really sure why the insulation isn't there but it's not really that big of an issue. Still a 5 star product with my minor knock on it.

Just for reference, I'm 6 foot and a bigger guy and I normally wear an XL in clothing but ordered this in XXL. I did this because I wanted to have some room to wear a vest or layer under this if I wanted to wear it in the 30's, and I've definitely got that room and am still comfortable in it without layering. I imagine I could have ordered this in an XL and got by just fine but ordering a size bigger is just going to personally help me wear it in a little colder temperatures.

I hunted one of the coldest days of the year so far here in Northern Michigan, unfortunately without my Fanatic Jacket (insanely warm). All I had was a baselayer and the Celsius Midi, with my Fanatic Bibs in 15* with 10-15mph winds and snow.

I was certainly cold by the end of the 4-hour sit, but not frozen solid due to the unbelievable warmth-weight ratio of the Midi. I would never guess a jacket this thin would be so warm.

In normal circumstances, it acts as a very solid layering piece to add to a lightweight outer or a heavy weight outer. Huge fan of the jacket.

I wear a Large in most everything Sitka, and this jacket is no exception.

This jacket may be the most versatile piece I have. It’s lightweight, packable, and very warm! I purchased this piece with intentions of wearing it as an outer layer in the 50s and 40s and then adding the Stratus jacket over top when things get windy or colder. I tested it out today (30s and snowing) with only a midweight layer and 145 merino underneath and stayed very comfortable but I believe it will shine as an insulating later (which is what it’s designed for) on days like today and colder. The fabric is very quiet and this thing is just awesome to wear. Think of it as a puffy without the noisy outer shell and less bulk. I’m 5’9,175, and the medium fits perfect. For reference, I am a size large in the Stratus but the fit is very similar. I chose large for the Stratus to have a little more room for layering underneath. If you already have the Stratus and need a little more warmth or just want a super comfortable piece that’s very versatile to add to your closet, look no further than the Celsius Midi.

This was a great add to my system. I pack it now for every hunt it seems minus early early season. I have a medium and almost wish I had a large but it fits nice, I just would probably but it on as outer more in cold weather with larger size when wearing bibbs. I’m 5’10” 178lb and the medium fits great just with the bibbs I have to put it inside Bibb not to feel like it’s stretched skin tight. With that said they didn’t design it to be an outer so it’s perfect for what it’s designed for. Mild/low wind weather I wear it with a fanatic hoody it’s money, normally throw it on after I get settled and that warm feeling from walking in and climbing has gone way. Cool to cold with wind it’s under my stratus jacket, rain under my rain gear. Like I said do all layer piece for me. I will beg and second the motion to please make a set of midi pants as a under layer for the stratus and fanatic bibbs. Just stick a warning label not designed for brush and briar walk ins to offset a warranty claim. I’d wear then in on non brush/briar walks and layer at tree for cold all day sits, or all day rain sits in cooler/cold weather. I wear a base layer and equinox pant now, these pants would probably cut one layer of waist bulk and just be good with merino underwear. So my 2 cents buy the jacket, and beg gore for a pant set to match!

Very warm for its weight. Does well with light precipitation. Fits true to size, I'm 6'3'' 190 lbs and a large is perfect. Main issue is the sleeves from elbow down are extremely tight and narrow so they ride up when you wear it under a shell, and this also makes it very hard to wear more than 1 layer underneath. I have worn this jacket under the Goretex rain shell and it is a pain to get the sleeves to fit right. The narrow sleeve ends also mean you have to have an over glove otherwise with normal glove you will likely have a bare skin gap at your wrist. Neck is not as tall as it should be, or it should be adjustable with a pull string which it is not so you need a gator in the wind.

Fantastic addition to the Whitetail line up! This jacket is comfortable and impossibly light, especially when you realize how warm it actually keeps you, it's just amazing! The tapered sleeves are excellent for being able to easily slide your hands into the front pockets, which feels like they have hand warmers built in! I also really love the fact that you can snug up the bottom of this jacket without ever having to take your hands out of the pockets, the adjustment cords are built inside them, which to me is ingenious, and means less movement and no more dangly adjustment straps hanging around my waist! The chest pocket provides plenty of room for my range finder and release. Which the added harness pass through, this will now be my go to outer layer for most, if not all, the rest the season!

First impressions of the jacket though are incredible and I'm blown away by the functional movement married with the insulating properties of this lightweight piece. A perfect brother to the Kelvin Active for the tree-stand hunter with the addition of longer sleeves which mitigates the bunching up of gloves when the cuff meets the sleeve. Compressed sleeves for a clean draw cycle and easy layering might make this piece a new favorite of mine when October rolls around.
