I purchased this fall 2021 along with the Stratus Pant and Fanatic Vest. This hoody is way underrated as far as warm. The hoody with a merino light weight base was good in Northern WI, with no wind, into the low 40’s. It was a toss up for me between this and the midi. I choose this because of face mask, hood, and I think this would be more durable given the exterior. If it gets windy I put on the vest. I now have purchased the Stratus jacket and Fanatic Jacket/bibs. This will be a mid layer when temp drop below 40. As others have mentioned, I had to go with an XL even though I wear a large in everything else. I am 5,9” 195-200. The large would not fit my shoulders/chest area.

I’m 5’10, 180lbs and bought a medium, but exchanging it for a large. Solid quality, medium seemed a little short and very tight all throughout.

By far my favorite sitka piece. I love this jacket, I can't say enough good about it. It is my go to piece during archery season. With proper layering this hoody is comfortable down to 45°F. For as light as this jacket is, it is very warm. Quiet and comfortable. The hood is a nice added piece for when the temperatures drop or the wind is hitting you.

This is a great hoodie. It’s plenty warm just doesn’t cut the wind as good as the stratus. As others stated I typically where XL but I had to get 2XL in the Equinox Hoodie and Stratus Jacket. I’m also struggling on when to wear this now since I’ve added the Core Lightweight hHodie, Heavyweight Tee and Celsius Midi. It’s very similar to the stratus jacket minus the windstopper.

This is the most versatile piece of Sitka gear I have. I was surprised how warm it actually is. I can wear this early through mid-season before needing to add another layer. You'd be surprised how warm you can be in late season with this hoodie and the Stratus Jacket over top with the windstopper. I love the built in facemask and hood.

Wore this jacket on a recent bear hunt. A pretty good storm came in with some chilly rain, and the hoody kept me dry and warm. So far this piece has been my favorite so far. This hoody is a must have.

The Equinox Hoody is the piece I tell my friends to try first when they are looking at Sitka. It is my favorite out of all the Sitka I own. It is extremely quiet and comfortable. The built in hood/facemask is awesome. I wear the Equinox Hoody pretty much all whitetail season either by itself in early season or as one of my layers as the season progresses.

Good piece to have for in between temps when it's a bit too cold to wear the fanatic hoody by itself, but not quite cold enough for the fanatic jacket. I've used for two seasons now as of this review. Typically I'll have a merino short sleeve performance t-shirt under my fanatic hoody to start a hunt when conditions are mild and will throw the equinox jacket on if/when I start to get cold from sitting or the temp drops. I wear a size large in all my other Sitka gear but ended up going with an XL in this jacket. I don't feel restricted in any way or feel too bulky with this sizing and setup. I primarily bow hunt and am also extremely sensitive to noise from my clothing. While not 100% sound proof, I've found this jacket to be completely acceptable for that purpose. If you get busted while in the stand wearing this jacket, it's likely not because of the noise, but your movement. This year I had bucks and mature does look up at me while in a stand and inside of 20 yards, none of them blew or were alerted by me being there so EVII camo pattern seemed to do its job.

Great product. Was in between this and Celsius midi but went with this for versatility as it can be a stand alone jacket or mid layer. This hoody can get me from early season all the way through rifleman in western PA. Only reason for 4 stars is the sizing. I wear an XL in virtually all Sitka gear but the XL was far too tight especially in the chest and armpits. Went with a 2XL and is nice in the armpits but a bit too loose elsewhere. Not a fashion statement but still great product and very happy.

I bought this piece last year and on the coldest days I wore just the Equinox hoodie with my fanatic bibs and stayed so warm with temps in the mid to low 20's. excellent piece and I look forward to wearing it with my stratus vest.

The only thing Sitka did wrong here was their website ratings: this thing is far warmer than the Equinox Jacket, and warmer than the Fanatic Hoodie as well, even though they rate them the same in warmth. The Equinox Hoodie is practically a jacket that doesn’t have WindStopper technology, and a few other convenience bells and whistles. On top of this, it’s super easy to layer under for hunting into the 40’s, or use as a mid layer itself under a Stratus or Fanatic. Easily my favorite piece I own so far!

Wore this plus a UA Base 4 on some coyote drives. It was 20° with wind chill in the single digits (or lower). Only thing that got cold was the exposed forehead. I wasn’t sure about this piece but my wife and kids got it for me for birthday. I’m a believer. Wow.

This is probably one of my most used pieces next to the fanatic hoody. Those two pieces combined will get you a long way. Equinox is very durable and warm but as soon as wind starts blowing you'll want stratus or fanatic. Only other thing I wish is if they offered it in MT. I have M and it layers well but its on the tighter side. Overall, great quality and glad its a part of my arsenal.

Nice piece, a little heavier than the lightweight Equinox jacket but less weight and more flexible than a Stratus jacket, which I go to when it is windy and in the lower 50s - and is a great jacket as well.
This jacket fits perfectly in between.

Its so thought out and comfortable, It makes ZERO noise when you rub against a tree or your gear! The Hoodie and Face Mask can be used solo or together for complete comfort without hindering your vision. Its simply the best piece of gear I own.

This pullover is the most functional and important piece of wearable gear that I own. The face guard allows me to conceal my face quickly and the size and weight are percent for layering. I will not go in the woods without this pullover regardless of the temperature. It just makes my day easier without having to keep up with a face mask and skull cap. I would like the face guard to be vented to minimize the haze on my binoculars.
Great job guys. Function matters, that’s why I love your gear.

Pricey but pretty sure this is going to get as much use as my Stratus pants (possibly more even). I've warn this a ton this season already and foresee it staying on my body the remainder of it. This gets an A+ from me because it is exactly what I needed. The outer layer of fabric is super quiet. This pairs nicely with the the Stratus and Fanatic system's. It has done a great job thus far repelling light on and off rainstorms. I've worn this comfortably as an outer-layer down to ~45*F on a calm day. An overlooked part of this item is the how good of a job this garment does at trapping your body heat when zipped completely up with the lightweight hood on. The hood is light enough to hear through but is somehow just heavy enough to keep my ears comfortable. One evening when the temps dropped to 38*F with a 12 mph wind I got a little chilly just wearing the hoodie. I slid the Stratus jacket on over top of the hoodie and it instantly fixed the issue.

This is one piece of equipment that will now forever be placed in my “Essentials” bin.
Fit: Alike with Sitka’s innovative designs, the ability to move silently and smoothly in all directions fits perfectly with any layering system. Sitka placed the perfect amount of material to allow for full coverage even at full draw or climbing to the stand.
Weather: this was the big one for me. When I first received the hoody I thought that I would only be able to wear it in temps between 35-50 degrees. The first time I tested the hoody was September 22 during a Southern Maine hunt where the early morning (gray light) temps were in the low 50’s. By 7 am the temperature had increased to 74 degrees Fahrenheit! And I had forgotten that I was wearing the same layering system. I was amazed to say the least. The breathability yet warm when needed was amazing.
Versatility: The hood fits perfectly along with the built in face mask. With the built in harness port, I can wear this with a 1/4 zip base layer long sleeve with my Treestand harness layer on top of that and then the hoody layered on top of the harness. This allows me to get my “first 2-hour layer” completely set up at the truck prior to getting to the stand. Lastly, since my first hunt I have been able to layer this beneath the fanatic lite jacket and it fits perfectly, while remaining silent. I have already told two of my friends that this is a must have for the first half of the season.
