I am 6'3" tall and 190 lbs athletic build. XL size is a great fit. I wear a light merino wool shirt under this mid weight core and throw the Jetstream Jacket over it. Great combo. Shirt is very warm and comfortable.

Awesome piece. I have a solid color and wear it out and about, to work, and as a layer when I am out hunting. Extremely versatile and useful piece of clothing.

This core mid-weight Zip is one of my favorite pieces in my personal system. It's versatile enough to be used alone for October bow hunting, for crisp spring turkey mornings, or as a layering piece in late season when the temps start to drop. I even wear my EVII core mid zip as a stand alone piece if I'm running to the store. Looks sharp (at lease my wife thinks so). It is a piece of my gear that i will always have in my arsenal! My wife bought in as my first Sitka piece and it definitely will not be the last. This stuff is completely worth the price tag. You know what they say, "Once you go Sitka you never go back" (well, at least that's what I say anyhow).

This shirt has been awesome. I purchased a Large like all over my other Sitka Gear with the exception of the Hudson (XL). It is a snugger fit but its suppose to be. My one and only issue with this is that I broke the Zipper. I woke up at camp one night in a sweat and in my sleep I basically yanked off this rather snug shirt, when I did the zipper undid itself. I managed to get it back on track and am holding out until the season is over to send it in. It was my fault, but its something to take note of if the shirt is snug on you at all.

Ive been collecting the new waterfowl timber gear a piece at a time. Ive had this piece of gear for a few months now and it has been my go to insulating layer for every back country outing ive done on the island (Unimak). It is outstanding! The wicking properties continue to impress each time I wear it. I climb a lot of the mountains around here and I downgrade to just this layer while I'm climbing. I try to not sweat if I can help it, but when I do, It keeps me completely dry and warm even with the wind (and there is always wind). Amazing fabric
The Timber pattern works great for the area. All my Marsh gear is just a bit to yellow for the foliage and trees around here, so the Timber pattern works perfectly with the Fall brown spectrum of the island.
I also like the new thumb loop placement. It doesn't "pull" on my thumbs like the previous in-sleeve loops did. they also disappear when I'm not using them.
The core zip-T is a definite level up for anyone's gear closet.

This piece is excellent for high-country elk and mule deer bowhunts in Sept and Oct. Perfect weight for covering ground in the early mornings and returning to camp in the evening after the sun goes down. Wicks sweat and dries well. Throw insulation layers on over it when stationary. Really does stay stink free for a few days. For a week long hunt, I take two and change em out half way through.

Picked up this piece just for something to throw on for work when its a little cooler out that looks nicer than a sweatshirt and it does that perfectly. Also use it for pre season scouting when its a little cooler. Not a full rating because its not the most durable piece but it is a base layer and doesn't necessarily need to be.

Very nice for a middle layer. Used this over a merino long sleeve and kept me warm at 40 degrees. Zipper is quiet and material is durable. After a week of use snagging on oak brush the material still looks new without signs of wear. However, my only complaint is the thumb loops seem low quality and unraveled after the first day of use. Minor flaw but still a bummer. Overall great item

Awesome piece of gear, it drys so quickly its shocking. You rarely feel it on ya most of the time cause its so light and feels amazing. Only complaint is that it's not durable at all, do not go around in nasty brush with just this. My friends ripped real quick, so wear some tough stuff over this and you will be fine

Outstanding piece of gear been using this on my duck hunts this year, and can say its practically perfect. The moisture wicking ability of this piece is incredible as it is almost hydrophobic and keeps me dry and warm through out my sit. It's also easily the most comfortable piece of clothing I've ever worn. The polygiene tech they put in to the gear is a awesome touch and keeps you scent free for long periods of time. The only thing I could caution is durability, as the material is pretty thin and looks like it can rip easily.

This just may be my favorite piece from Sitka. It's the perfect weight for being active in colder weather. It is very versatile and can be worn next to skin, as a mid layer, or an outer layer. You can really let the heat out with the zipper down while the taller neck will gives you the option to keep the heat in when needed. The material is very soft and comfortable. Can't say enough about this shirt!

Sitka sure did a great job making this. The Zip-T is one of the few pieces of my gear that i must have on all hunts. It wicks the moisture away from my skin fantastically well. I wore this piece when it was 85 degrees while packing out my elk and it kept me cool. The same week i wore it hunting for deer in 30 degree weather and it kept me warm. It is a piece of my gear that i will always have!

I just returned from an elk hunting trip with friends and this inner layer was perfect paired with my Kelvin Ultralight Down Jacket and JetStream jacket over that. The layers kept me warm while glassing, and helped to whick away moisture as I helped pack out the elk we harvested. As a female, the fit of the medium is perfect, even though these are made to fit a man.

This was what started my sitka obsession. Purchased this for a early season Kansas Whitetail hunt. I was comfortable on 50 degree mornings and 90 degree afternoon sits. The shirt wicks moisture like nothing I've ever seen. I was literally wiping sweat off the outside of the shirt but perfectly dry underneath. I wore the shirt for 8 straight days. It never stretched out and never smelled. Since then I've been able to use it as a layering piece into the later season. Absolutely an essential piece of gear.

I have had this gear for 4 years now and love it just as much as the day I bought it. It is a very versitle base layer and top layer when the weather is warm to mild. Fit and Function are second to none. As with all the gear this is a great investment for the comfort of the hunt.

This product is amazing. I couldn't believe how well this piece wicks away moisture. I did a quick test and dropped a few drops of water on the inside fabric and almost instantly the inside fabric pulled the moisture to the ouer fabric and the inside fabric was completely dry. I was amazed. the inside fabric is hydrophobic (water-fearing) which means the fabric wants to get rid of moisture and spread it out as quickly as possibly. the only down side to this product is its not very durable and the wind cuts right threw it. but if you pair this up with the core light weight and maybe a Jetstream light or 90% and it makes for a awesome layering system.

Found a store with the new core line and had to get the core midweight in pyrite. I have really taken to the solid line and love the pyrite color. I have been scouting with this and it has really become my go to base layer now. Days have been upper 60 with temps dropping into the mid to low 50's a great garment to wear under the 90%. I find for just my quick trips scouting/hiking this core midweight with the 90% is all that I need. I upped the size to a large all my other core series is medium and I love the fit. Thanks Sitka. Cant wait to use this on my archery hunts this year.

Knocking on Doors

Gaining access to private land can be an intimidating hurdle for most hunters, but it doesn’t have to be. In fact, knowing how to ask permission can be a hunter’s secret weapon, especially when it comes to accessing public land drainages only reachable via private land or, even, opening up a door to private land access for years to come.
