What a great jacket. I bought this piece thinking it would be a good mid layer for winter hiking. I've worn it recently out west hiking in Zion National Park and also the Grand Canyon. Temps ranged from 3 degrees with windchill to pushing 60 degrees at points. The jacket seems to be warm when I needed it to be and not overly warm when i'm wearing it in mild conditions. Good wind protection. Even when it was wet it still kept in heat. It's awesome. Also, after a week of hiking with no washes it didn't have an odor. The hood is awesome and keeps a lot of heat in, too. I've also worn it around town. I have the midnight color.
Versatile jacket! Great layering piece or stand alone jacket. Purchased this for everyday, camping and fly fishing use. Seems to adapt to my insulation needs. Paired with the Gravelly Shell and a Core Heavyweight Hoody you are set all day for any weather situation. Purchased the XL, fits well with plenty of room for layers. I'm 5'10", about 185lbs. Can't wait to use it this summer on a camping/fly fishing trip in Wyoming.
I wore this comfortably around NYC in 5* weather with a wind chill factor of -10 with nothing more than a short sleeve t- shirt under it, and was way warmer than my wife who was bundled up in multiple layers and scarves. I will most definitely continue wearing this around and will more than likely get another for the hunts.
My new favorite puffy for casual wear. I've been waiting for a piece like this one to come out, ordered Cargo color size Large. Every other top from Sitka I've purchased has been a size Large for reference. This jacket is a keeper for sure. Everything is just about right for a minimalist casual puffy hoody. The cut is great to wear a shirt and fleece layer underneath, however not too "boxy", the color is just plain cool, and the quality is what you would expect from Sitka Gear.

Owning the Off-Season
A good coach once told me that “being lucky” is actually just being prepared. It was a valuable lesson and one that also applies to the backcountry. Now is the time to prepare with a purpose, not the week before the season starts.

Minimalist design, lightweight. Very warm.
Purchased my first one a month ago. Fit was spot on. Live in Upper Michigan and have worn this hoody from 10 - 50 degrees and am 100% pleased with the performance. Just received another color for Christmas and couldn't be happier. Will be purchasing more quality Sitka clothing.
I have owned this for over a year now. Light, warm, and fit allows for layering underneath. Great standard for casual wear, but I also use on summer scouting trips in the high country. A fantastic jacket.
My go to jacket for cold weather casual wear. Super light and warm. I have the XXL and there is more than enough room for heavy layers underneath. Great fit.
