This is an under appreciated jacket. At first glance, you think “well it’s a Gore windstopper softshell, which is the best SS fabric on the market, but do I really need another SS?”. Well, short answer, yep. The DWR coating on this jacket I swear is better than any other SS made or not made by Sitka. Maybe it’s me, but I feel like it’s virtually waterproof. Had it out in a decent downpour, didn’t soak through. I admit I haven’t had it completely inundated yet but for a early or mid season jacket or even late season with some layers underneath, this think is amazing. Lightweight, wind cutting, well fitting, and as close to waterproof you can get without being fully waterproof. This jacket will get a lot of use.

I really like this jacket. Windstopper is amazing... My only gripe about this jacket is that it is a bit tight to layer in cold weather...that being said I do it. The wrists are very tight, especially when wearing a gradient hoody under it. The hood is the best hood I have ever worn. For not being waterproof, it sure does a good job of keeping you dry. The other night we hunted for 2.5 hours in a steady and cold rain/freezing rain. My buddies wearing other name brand clothes that said waterproof were wet, my dakota jacket kept me dry. Recommend ordering a size up if you want to layer heavily. I did layer a merino base, midnight core, gradient hoody, and Fahrenheit vest...it was very snug though and hard to shoot. All in all this is a great jacket. It plays a great role in my gear bag.

This is truly an exceptional jacket. I believe it's the most versatile in my system. The windstopper has a nice finish and touch, it's durable, with the reinforced forearms and pockets in all the right area. Also a good hood. It's easy to layer up and down under it, as it's not thick and bulky. The windstopper isn't loud and rustly like a full waterproof membrane is yet it's still really water resistant. Very good piece.

Very nice piece and does what is advertised it will do. This piece stops any and all wind, even the cold stuff up in Minnesota. When it does get cold you really have to layer under this. I would have ordered an XL over a Large if I did it again but I didn't know how much id be wearing it layered. Its Sitka, its nicer than anything else.

This is one of the best Sitka jackets I own I wear it with the Dakota vest and duck oven jacket. I'm warm and dry on the nastiest days of the season while all my buddies that wear other brands are walking to the truck. It really is tough as nails as I climb into pit blinds day in and day out it takes anything I throw at it. Sitka has really outdone itself with this jacket and the rest of their waterfowl series gear.

I love the jacket, but I thought it fit very small for an outer layer jacket. I ordered size Large and if I had a chance I would go with an XL. I only had a base layer and light sweatshirt underneath and did not have much room, fit snug 6-1, 185 lbs

Cannot say enough good things about this jacket. When I first picked it up I wasn't sure about how warm it would be because of how thin it is, but when I put it on I could tell that it would be plenty warm for the weather we get in Texas. Layered with my heavyweight pullover it will be all I need for this duck season. Great job Sitka

Great outer jacket. I was surprised at how warm it is for how thin it is. Completely water proof and wind proof. NOTE: Sitka Gear does not claim WINDSTOPPER Garments to be Waterproof, only Water Resistant.

Absolutely love the new Dakota Jacket. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite pieces. Great athletic fit and is perfect for the changing weather we experience in our area, which is often times very windy. Sitka hit it out of the park with this piece having the WINDSTOPPER technology. Great addition to my collection

WINDSTOPPER
