SITKA is actively seeking a Retail Store Manager to lead our store opening in the summer of 2024. You will provide leadership and direction to the store team and successfully execute company strategies. You'll be responsible for determining and maintaining optimal staffing levels, recruiting, hiring, coaching, and motivating a team of brand advocates who in turn will provide a "wow" factor level of customer experience. The Retail Store Manager will drive store profitability by controlling expenses, protecting company assets, and upholding store operational and visual merchandising standards. You must have a customer-first mindset, and thrive in fast-paced, ever-changing entrepreneurial environments.
This is not a remote position. Located in Charlotte, North Carolina
Responsibilities:
Sales and Profitability
Maximize store sales and achieves store sales goals
Measure and monitor progress and results against KPIs
Manage operating and payroll expenses to maximize sales and profitability
Brand Experience/Customer Service
Drive excellence in customer service in store by modeling brand service standards
Monitor customer feedback and address all customer concerns quickly
Ensure store team engages with each customer to create an authentic brand experience
Execute store marketing events and grow relationships in the community to generate brand awareness and drive traffic
Training & Coaching Team
Hold store leadership to SITKA standard of customer service and engagement, brand identity, product knowledge, and operations
Execute training programs, including education on product and assortment to enhance selling and customer engagement
Conduct store meetings as needed
Provide timely training, coaching, and feedback to enable team success and growth
Operations & Inventory
Ensure team follows all company and store policies and procedures
Create and manage store schedules to support the needs of the business within the allotted payroll plans
Maintain appropriate inventory levels
Execute inventory receiving and replenishment processes efficiently and accurately"
Execute inventory counts as needed
Visual Merchandising
Maintain store visual merchandising standards
Plan and execute floor-sets and merchandising direction
Communicate with corporate partners regarding merchandise assortment, trends, and needs
Talent Management
Attract, recruit, and hire high caliber talent as well as maintain a succession plan
Create and develop a high-performing team of customer focused Guides and Leads
Address performance issues appropriately and facilitate any disciplinary action as needed in partnership with HR
Ensure compliance with all HR policies and procedures
Maintain an Open-Door Policy
Safety, & Compliance
Ensure compliance with safety and security policies and procedures
Partner with Security to identify trends and translate strategies into action to meet company shrink goals
Address and report any customer or employee injuries immediately

Qualifications and Attributes:
High school diploma required; Associate Degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred but not required
At least 5 years of management experience in a fast-paced, high volume retail environment
Experience in a specialty retail environment, outdoor apparel industry preferred
Experience opening retail stores preferred
Demonstrated success achieving sales and profit results through leading store team
Exceptional interpersonal skills founded on an authentic ability to deliver strong customer service
Excellent decision-making skills and ability to balance shifting priorities in fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to build, lead, and manage high performing teams
Detail orientated and excellent organization skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Power BI or like reporting tool, and retail POS
Experience executing store community participation and events, with experience planning events preferred
Available to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays
Physical Requirements:
Operate office equipment and technology (i.e., computers, phones, copier, etc.)
Standing required for entire work shift
Bend, lift, open, and move product up to 50 pounds as needed

SITKA Gear is seeking a Marketing Lead to join our team for the opening of our Charlotte, North Carolina store. In this role, you are responsible for strategizing and executing retail marketing and visual merchandising in the store and the community. SITKA is looking for a candidate who is both adept at multitasking and comfortable as a project manager and content strategist. Organization must be one of your top priorities, especially when it comes to communication. The ideal Marketing Lead has an eye for design, iterates quickly, is open to feedback, and likes seeing their vision come to life. You’re a bit of a data nerd who can establish metrics of success on which you base tactical social media strategies. You are energized by working with a wide range of people and are excited to collaborate with brand partners and contractors who come with differing expectations and personalities. You put high value on a clean look and feel in the store, with close attention to detail. You are a reliable and concise communicator who can manage multiple streams of work concurrently, including helping with events and promotions. You’re passionate about the outdoors, knowledgeable about hunting, and always leave a place better than you found it. In this role, you will report to the Store Manager.

General Job Duties:
Own execution of the store events also including participation in setting of strategy, scheduling, outreach, contracting, and in-store asset management
Take brand directive from the Retail Experience Manager and execute all creative, merchandising, and marketing needs in the store
Own the execution of visual merchandising standards by training and driving standards with the store team
Assist with in-store promotions by providing signage, emails, paid social and any other needs to execute promotional activity
Support showcase merchandising and storytelling installations by providing the asset selection, end-to-end work with vendors, and set-up and take-down
Own execution of the store social media also including participation of setting strategy, execution of strategy, and monthly KPI reporting
Act as a manager on duty for staff and customer experience
Provide support to the sales floor team and the inventory management team to provide customers with an excellent experience
Qualifications & Experience:
1+ years’ experience in marketing and/or event planning
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high-volume workload often requiring short turnaround times
Passion for and understanding of hunting, the outdoors, and the culture around it
Strong interpersonal skills and the proven ability to coordinate with internal and external partners simultaneously resulting in highly positive relationships
Effective project management skills and experience allowing for the execution of multiple competing priorities
Social media management experience preferred but not required
Photography experience a plus but not required
Experience as a retail store key holder preferred

The ideal candidate will be responsible for inventory management including purchasing, receiving, stock room, and floor replenishment, inventory KPI reporting, and back-of-house organization and cleanliness. You will provide customers with a premium experience through inventory availability. You value the process, organization, and making data-driven decisions. In this role, you will report to the Store Manager. We are seeking a candidate who will provide leadership support and direction to the store team and successfully execute company strategies. You will help coach and motivate a team of brand advocates who in turn will provide a premium customer experience. The Retail Sales Lead drives store profitability by upholding store operational and visual merchandising standards. You have a customer-first mindset and thrive in fast-paced, ever-changing entrepreneurial environments.

General Job Duties:
Model brand service standards to help drive excellent customer experience
Coach the store team on SITKA standard of customer service, brand identify, product, and operations
Create and support a culture of customer engagement amongst your team
Provide a timely response to daily, weekly, and monthly tasks assigned by Assistant Store Manager and Store Manager
Ensure timely execution of distributed goals and tasks assigned to the sales staff
Execute opening and closing procedures
Become a brand expert on all things SITKA
Assist in inventory procedures, allocation, and replenishment, third party orders, shipping, receiving, cycle counting etc.
Work with the Visual Merchandiser to uphold merchandising standards to create an appealing in-store experience
Maintain cleanliness of the store by executing and upholding cleaning standards
Operate the POS to complete all sales, returns and exchange transactions effectively and accurately
Assist with store events
Qualifications & Experience:
Positive attitude that goes above and beyond for customers.
1+ years of customer service and/or retail experience preferred.
Previous retail knowledge (POS, Inventory, customer service, and sales) preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of outdoor gear preferred.
Must love outdoors, hunting knowledge preferred.

Ability to lift 45 lbs
