Perfect addition

Big arxhery guy from wester PA , I was looking for light, packable and warm to pack and have on those chilly mornings or when that sun sets. And I use it as a layer and then throw my status jacket over on those cold and windy days. This thing is feather light and is super warm, even with the stratus over there is no restriction or noticeable bulk, perfect for drawing back and letting one fly while staying warm and dry.

Awesome jacket

You will see online this jacket is very breathable etc. but I have found it is pretty good in general. Fit great, lightweight, flexible, and is really warm. In Seattle, upper 40s, this jacket was "too warm" when worn under a Dewpoint jacket. . . so I switched to the Kelvin Aerolite jacket (under the Dewpoint) and felt just fine. I would say the Ambient under a Dewpoint would be good sub-40 degree weather but it is not "artic" by any means. All in all. . one of my favorites to wear! I have various jackets from Sitka (and others) and the Ambient 200 / 100 are favorites depending on how cold it is outside. I'm 5'11" and 155 lbs, a Medium is perfect.

Lighter than I expected

I wanted another layer of wind protection under my Blizzard Parka. More is better in 20 degrees 25 ft up a tree in snowy Ohio deer season. It is not bulky and fit over my insulating layers. Perfect for Midlayer

I've had my Ambient jacket for 4 years now and it is my go to for a midlayer both fall and winter here in Alaska. Its been on many hunts and trips and has never failed. I even use it for everyday use. For how light it is it sure is warm when worn as a midlayer. I'm buying another one cause this on I have is getting too loose on me and since i've lost a few pounds!

Best Jacket Ever

My Ambient 200 Optifade Elevated II is the most versatile and effective jacket I have ever owned. Worn by itself it provides amazing warmth and with appropriate base layers it keeps out the cold from mid 20’s and above. It is extremely light and comfortable. I paired it with the Stratus bibs. Looking to get a non camo color to wear outside of hunting activities. Sizes definitely run small. XL was perfect for me.

I love the whole ambient line

I own the entire ambient line. From elevated 2 to subalpine to solids. Got the 75, 100, 150 and their 200. Best jacket ever. They need to make a pair of pants out of this material for an insulation piece. I recently bought the first lite navigator pants that looks like it’s made out of the exact same material as the Sitka ambient 100. I can’t wait to use it under my stratus bibs. I’m size L in almost everything Sitka brand. This fits true to size.

Toasty + Trim

Great warm midlayer. Fits like a glove with a thin merino or merino blend base layer underneath. Nice and trim but I have full range of motion when fully zipped. Nothing "pulling" or constrictive. It moves with me. True to the size chart unlike other brands. Fits perfectly under my current generation Jetstream I bought along with it. Both jackets are Size M. At first I thought the Ambient 200 was a bit snug but it fits properly for the kind of layer it is. I'd say I'm at the high end of Medium with around a 41" chest. As others have written: the face fabric doesn't seem bulletproof. But it's not meant to be, it's not a shell, and the thinner fabric allows it to breathe. I wouldn't be running through the brush and leaning up on rock with it alone. I also wouldn't wear it in a city with a ton of brick and cement or abrasive walls. Great jacket. Highly recommend if you're in cold temp and plan on moderate movement and need insulation under a shell. A+

Objective ~ source the best possible midlayer

I'm 5' 11", 155, have a 39" chest with a standard shoulder build and a 1" greater than average wingspan. 35" to 35. 5" sleeves are preferred. Size L was chosen for the sake of sleeve length, to build in latitude with underlayers plus be assured the neck area didn’t prove too close fitting when fully zipped up. This element I find real, no hype and something that honestly shows up. ~> The 200 delivers in the warmth dept and breathes in a great way on the errand of regulating comfort well over a broader range of temps and conditions. It's proven a solid success in those respects. Care is brought with its exterior so it stands the best chance of hanging in and serving faithfully through multiple seasons. ‘True to size’ was selected. But without actually experiencing a size M my sense is that I land in the middle between sizes.

Great jacket

It’s a good jacket just by itself with no layering. These past couple weeks hunting in a ground blind in low to mid 40s with a real feel of about 37°-38° it kept me nice and warm with just a t shirt on under it. Now if the wind were to be blowing anymore you’ll get shilled more/sooner but it does have some wind resistance to it but for mid season down here in Arkansas, it’s perfect. When mid November til the end of the season you’ll probably have to layer or move up to a different Sitka line of clothing

Ambient 200 is decent. Not sure if it’s worth the cost

The jacket is good quality as all Sitka is. I understand that this is a layering piece but I would have liked to see a few more pockets. IMO you can never have enough pockets, especially the sneaky low profile ones. The jacket is not thick which makes it great for layering. One thing that I noticed is that it feels sort of loosely packed with insulation. Not a huge bummer and maybe they designed it that way. Haven’t been able to test out the warmth of it it but seems like it will go great under the status jacket. Not sure it’s worth the $300+ price tag but only time will tell. If you can get it on a 40% off sale then I would say go for it. 5’7” 165 and the medium fits well and is form fitting as a layering piece should.

Perfect cold weather jacket

I have now used this jacket several times for 2-3 hour sits in 20-30 degree weather, including windy and snowy. At the coldest, I wore a heavyweight baseline and Ambient 200 under this. On a warmer day with a hike, I wore a heavyweight baseline, aerolight vest and jetstream jacket. When I got to where I was sitting I pulled out this jacket and threw ie on over everything. Not a bit of chill. The only (expected) downside is it is not the quietest fabric. That, however can be mitigated by reducing your movement. I would not wear it on a stalk for this and the fabric catches on twigs and such. Lastly, they dont explicitly say it but the jacket can be folded inward into the dump pocket to fit compactly in a backpack. You could get it even smaller with a stuff sack, for sure.

Great Jacket

Awesome jacket fits alittle larger

Awesome jacket fits alittle larger than my other XL products from Sitka but overall it’s great. Outer material isn’t going to be very durable in thickets so I wouldn’t try that but if you want to make your stratus jacket feel like you’re wearing a fanatic jacket layer this underneath it.
