I love it I wish there was a pouch for birds.
SITKA quality remains long after the price is forgotten. Love the snap closure. Easy on and off
This vest is the best of the best. The pad takes it to the next level. They truly think of everything in each product. The magnetic clasp is great and holds strong. Would recommend it to anyone.
Quick delivery worked awesome for what I needed it for made with quality!!
Is it a lot for a vest? Yes but if you are layering with other Sitka gear this is what you want. It is cut to fit with other Sitka products and lays perfect with items like the incinerator bibs and jacket. I like the clasp and how it is magnetic. The built in shoulder pad is nice but not needed so it is nice that it is removable. I am happy with the vest but would only buy again if it was on sale.
I initially went with the large, but after receiving it I exchanged it for the XL.
It’s quiet, and seems to be durable, have taken it out 3 times so far.
It’s a simple but affective design
This is a well designed and built vest. The best fits well and the material will stand up to what ever you throw at it. I really liked the zipper pockets and the magnetic front clasp.
Best orange vest I’ve worn. Very well made. If you have to wear orange you might as well have a useful piece. Great pockets. Easy on/off. Material is quiet and durable.
This vest is designed nice with its fit and closure. But, and this is a big but, the fabric is terribly noisy. I wear a complete Fanatic set which is silent in the deer woods then I have this vest that is one of the loudest fabrics I've worn in the woods. I would say this would be great for everything EXCEPT big game hunting. It's simply too noisy for pursuing whitetail. I love all my Sitka gear , this would be great for small game hunting, but definitely not what you want in the Maine deer woods.
I believe this will be the last blaze orange vest you would ever buy. Worth the money spent.
Four stars for me. The product itself is well made and fits perfectly. It’s the lack of features that I would have liked to have in a $100 vest. One, shot shell holders in pockets, two, a separate compartment sewn in the back for upland hunting birds e.g. quail, grouse, pheasant etc and then finally is a clip or eyelets on the back to hang a hunting license. Many states don’t require to have it hung visibility but it’s nice to be able to and not have to put diaper pins holes though the back to hang one. Just my two cents for my uses. Good luck out there people and be safe.
Great little lightweight orange vest with lots of pockets and quiet and comfortable. I don’t deer hunt a lot, but when I do, it’s on me.
This is a really well made vest. The material is sturdy and the magnetic clasp is great. Fits true to size, I got a large and it fits over my large Jetstream jacket with ease.
This is the best most functional blaze orange vest that money can buy.
Plenty of pocket space, magnetic clasp, and built in recoil pad.
Hands down the best orange vest I have used during rifle season. Repels water, easily adjusts for various layers you might have on, the right number of pockets, high quality material, magnetic clip is great, and it's very comfortable. I wish Sitka made the same vest with a black or grey optifade pattern blended with the orange as several states allow patterns on the orange and still meets requirements. This would be a big seller to those states requiring orange!
Good vest and very well made. Kind of pricey but a huge improvement over the low cost ones which fall apart after a season or two
very well made. A great upgrade to the cheap ill constructed vest I had been using. Made for big game hunting, NOT upland hunting.
Best big game hunters orange best made. Lightweight, has some useful pockets but not bulky like an upland vest. Drys quickly when wet. Easy on and off. Buy one of you want a quality but simple hunters orange vest.
I was reluctant to get this based on the reviews. I guided with this on for 5 days in September muzzleloader and 7 days of 2nd rifle in CO. I really like the vest. I am accustomed to a zip or snap closure but the set up on this vest worked great. It is not designed for warmth so you need to put it over stuff. In 2nd rifle i wore it over Kelvin Lite Jacket under Jet Stream Jacket. Worked great for moving, sitting, glassing, and recovering animals.
I dig this vest for big game hunting. Fills the blaze orange requirement, sheds moisture, and it layers over my clothing/gear well. The pockets are helpful too. I do have two complaints:
1. I hunt hard, high, and deep in the backcountry. I sweat and move fast. This vest wicks moisture but it retains odors in a way I've never seen before. It is terrible. Not sure what it is but my cloths will be just fine and this vest will be rank.
2. There is a metal clip that makes adjustments at the sides. I find this clip uncomfortable and it digs into your body...particularly with a pack on with a waist-belt. I would prefer to see some other system for making size adjustments.
Given all the other reviews, maybe it's time for Sitka to make an upland game vest too! I'd buy one but I do like this simple lightweight one for big game. In fact, I think it could be even lighter and less fully featured.
The product is as described and I like the clean lines and simplicity of this vest. No issue recommending this product for someone simply looking to fulfill blaze orange requirements. Would have given 4 stars but for the cost.
Hey Ryan -
Thanks for contacting us and we always appreciate the feedback. We also appreciate your support and concern regarding the level of quality and detail we have founded Sitka on. Understand that we do not design Upland Gear and so the product you are describing is not what we intended it to be. I, myself would not buy an orange vest that had a back pocket. Extra weight, less packability, and something to snag on while busting through dense brush. We could certainly add some shell loops to it but they wouldn't fit the diameter of a shotgun shell. It's designed for Big Game endeavors, to be durable, moderate in weight, dry quickly, and to be comfortable.

Why is sitka drawing away from hunting gear built by people that know the requirements of the sport? $99 for a vest that holds no shells and no game pocket in the back to serve a real purpose is beyond comprehension. I was an early advocate of their gear and own outfits in every style. Hope they don't get cheap on anything else.
Hunted in this a total of 2 days and went back to my orginal orange vest. It looks and feels great, however it is extremely noisy and loud. Agree with previous reviews, this one fails compared to other products.
This fills the basic blaze orange requirement in many states, but that's about it. If it included a game pocket on the back and some shell holders, it could double as an upland game vest (especially where orange is required for upland game hunting). The pockets are spacious, and the magnetic front clasp holds well. A few improvements would make this a great piece.
Simple, sturdy, blocks the wind. A clever buckle makes it easy to take off and put back on when you add or subtract a layer.
In comparison to other Sitka products, this one fails. The vest if very loud and it is heavy. The pockets are nice and the adjustments are okay, but the noise hard to overlook.

Great product I am very happy with it. A lot nicer than other vests I have had.
What a vest...I have been using them for years and they are the best on the market hands down.
I’ve worn cheap blaze orange for many years just to fulfill the legal requirements. Those vests didn’t fit well and they covered up the pockets of my outer layer. This vest is a little heavy but it is made well. The clasp and pockets are nice. The pad in the shoulder removes easily for those like me that don’t want it. This vest will last me the rest of my life!
Great vest size was a little big. But very well made
