Merino wool is the best and Sitka made it even better. I love the fit and quality of this garment. I’ve had a lot of merino wool over the years and so far this is the best.

This is my favorite bass layer of all time. I will often just wear it by itself. You don’t even know it’s on.

Keep it light

This is a pretty basic long sleeve tee. It’s super light and dries quickly. If the weather is warm this is all you need.

Excellent lightweight camo layer. The Core Merino 120 saved the day stalk hunting elk and turkey in the foothills of the B.C. Rockies, as it was an unseasonable warm early October. I was able to remain camouflage, unscented and comfortably cool throughout the long days in the field.

Great Product line

I bought the set of these in early fall. So far they are very good item. As a base layer in early season they have a bit of a cooling effect when you walk in once setting and add outer clothing for the evening they provide light insulation without adding bulk. You can layer them with other items in colder weather and cut down on bulk significantly.

Perfect for what I needed. A nice lightweight, warm yet breathable bottom layer that I can use while hiking in and out. Tested between 45° to 65°.

I purchased this with intent

I purchased this with intent of wearing it as a layer and it’s had performed true to the core as it’s intended to do. Wicked moisture and smell was at a minimum. I hadn’t had any merino until this shirt and I liked it so much I purchased the bottoms as well. A must have when layering!

Best Base Layer Top

I use this shirt for almost every hunt, as it is my core base layer top for any time of the year. Breathable and moisture-wicking enough in the early season, and too keep me cool when hiking in initially during the late season.

Love it but...

You better have a massive head or a really big nose or the facemask wont fit. Just tried mine today. The facemask drops below my chin. The elastic band across the top is not tight and stretching like the core synthetic. Wont be using it again. Going to go back to the synthetic. Very disappointing.

My absolute new go to

I have been a Sitka guy for a couple years now. I have all the core light weight base layers and have used them religiously. I do all my hunting in the southeast- early season whitetail, rut hunting then straight into chasing green heads in AR in the winter. The early deer hunting can be brutally hot and the work days in preparation hotter, so I really rely on my gear to keep me cool, but covered up. This is it man. It’s the most comfortable base layer I have ever put on. It’s a very light yet durable feeling merino. I’ve sweated my tail off in it and it still has no odor. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for an alternative to the synthetic feeling clothes! I’m never going back, and I’m buying a few more pieces to make sure I have plenty to choose from.
