Great Hoodie

The fabric and fit are really great for me. The pocket design and placement sits above a pack belt making it very functional. The Sitka style longer zipper is a big plus as well, it helps regulate heat more efficiently. A lot of times hoodies are just hoodies. The merino fabric and overall thoughtful design makes this one stand well above the rest.

Great Base Layer

Heavy, and comfortable. The armor spun merino, makes it last way longer than your traditional merino wool. I got a steal on it too. Only $89 for 330 grams of merino, I’ll take it.

This is super warm as a base layer and I’ve worn it by itself in warmer weather. I really like the neck gator on cold morning. I will be using it as a mask come turkey season. This stuff isn’t cheap, but built well!

I love my new Merino 330! This will be my go to item for cool turkey spring and fall deer hunts and then for cold Michigan hunts I will layer it with my lightweight base layer

Perfect hoodie

I found this hoodie the perfect fit and just what I was looking for. Not too heavy…not too light. Great for 35-50 degree temps and goes under jacket nicely on colder mornings. Wore it 20+ hunts this year.

As a photographer, I spend a lot of time outdoors in various conditions. I like high quality layers instead of big bulky coats. I bought the Merino 330 Hoodie to wear in -20 temperatures as a hey layer. It was superb. The built in hood and face mask proved to be hugely effective and beneficial. I would buy this again.

My Every Day Goto

I wear this Hoodie every morning during the winter. It’s well made, warm without over cooking you and is the beginning layer for me on really cold days and nights. Add more layers as needed or slide the zipper down and dump out any extra warmth.

Amazing base layer for really cold temperatures

Incredibly warm and comfortable. Fits really well and you can tell it’s going to hold up. I haven’t had it long, but used it steelhead fishing in Idaho. Standing for hours in one spot and it got down to 9 with a 10mph wind. All I had over it was a puffy and my mountain jacket a was pretty warm.

This added to my duck oven or Hudson jacket works well in cold conditions. Great base layer to the system. Works well as a stand alone in warmer weather.

Very Disappointed

I own many pieces of Sitka gear for whitetail hunting and this is the first piece I've been disappointed with. It does not provide much warmth at all. On a positive note, it is comfortable and fits well.

Perfect Piece of Gear

The Core Merino 330 Hoodie is PERFECT. The first time I wore it was for Colorado Elk 3rd Rifle. All I wore was this with no base layer, temps started a bit under 30 and throughout the day went up to mid 40's probably, some breezy winds, but nothing crazy or sustained. I was completely comfortable with just this on (also was wearing a backpack and Mountain Optics Harness). It was warm enough early to keep me good while hiking, got a bit warm hiking later in the day, but the chest zipper is pretty deep so vented a good amount of heat using that. This is now my go to layer for anything outdoors. I just wore it this morning out shooting. Temps started again just below 30 and rose to 35 by the time I left. I had on a lighter zone merino base layer under it, maybe 200 weight, and was comfortable (temp and fit) the whole time outside, maybe 2 hours. I can't wait for the solid colors to come back in stock in the women's so I can pick one up for my wife. I'm 6' and 185lbs, the large fits great. Athletic cut so it's easy to move in without restriction and snug enough to throw a jacket on over it if needed. I can't say enough good things about it. My only negative is that after a month and a half of use the optifade subalpine pattern on my stomach is starting to fade some because I have a pistol attached to the bottom of the bino harness and it rubs while hiking. I would expect and hope for a little more durability at this price point. . .
