Wanted to thank y’all on behalf of the entire state of Florida for making the best fly fishing hoodie ever. No bites, no sunburn after a whole day on the water. Incredible. Now we just need a matching set of leggings that could be worn under board shorts. That’d be a game changer.

Sitka doesn't even know it,

Sitka doesn't even know it, but they just made the best fly fishing hoodie the market has to offer, I am a wade fly fisher and fish in the Adirondacks. Black flies are crazy stupid. This hoodie does extremely well keeping the flies away, has great sun protection, and wick moisture really well keeping you cool when you are in your waders. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. This is also my go to piece for turkey season.

Well thought out design. Hood

Well thought out design. Hood and face mask works great on turkey hunts. Also, has excellent breathability and very comfortable on hot hunts. I was skeptical but the insect guard works exceptionally well.

This is an excellent product.

This is an excellent product. As a resident of New York mosquitos are a huge problem. I find this garment as a staple for my gear to be able to put it on in a moment's notice when the mosquitos appear. I have used it for work mostly as an over shirt, so I don't have to spray myself down with bug spray. You put it on and it's like parting the seas and the mosquitos leave you alone. The expedition cut is awesome, as I'm built like a football player with a larger upper body - 3xl. This fits over top of my shirt with a loose fit allowing me to move unlike most Sitka products that are a standard fit which for me means tight fitting. If you are someone that likes a tighter fit, you may want to size down but for me Sitka built this perfectly.

I bought this for spring

I bought this for spring turkey season in Missouri, like all the rest of Sitka gear it's the best in the field, it always lives up to the advertising and descriptions. Tough as nails. I'm a size XXX and everything has fit perfect except for the Equinox Guard Hoody, this XXX should actually be a 4X, it's way too big on me. Not sure what happened on the fit on this one. Other than that... products are the best on the market. I'm a huge fan!!

Absolutely amazing piece. 10/10 recommend. Keeps the bugs off you and keeps you cool on warm days. Sizing is standard to all other Sitka. I wear xl in everything so I got this in xl and the fit is perfect. It’s very elastic which I don’t love but don’t hate. I do dislike the chest pocket on the right being as I’m a right handed shooter. All their other gear it’s on the left. Reason for four out of five stars is the chest pocket and it could be a little less elastic/stretchy.

I bought 2 of these & they will become one of my favorite item's. Just did a turkey hunt & loaned one of them to my son & we were both pleased with the results. A great hoodie for the right time of year. really like the added face mask inside & the fit of the hood.

The equinox guard is super

The equinox guard is super light for spring and summer. I hunt chigger infested woods and have had zero chigger bites. I’ve only been on 2 hunts with it so far but can’t wait to go again. Thanks Sitka

Owner of multiple Sitka hoody’s. All are size XL ordered this one in same size fit was crazy loose contacted Sitka and they recommended down size to large. After paying to return out of pocket and getting a L the new hoody still very loose around the neck we’re mosquitoes can get in around the face. Also mask doesn’t stay up if you turn your head a couple times. Contacted Sitka again and they recommended maybe a Medium that I find hard to believe would fit me. Have to say the cut of this hoody is nothing like other Sitka hoody’s and the fit around the neck is horrible that would let bugs in and that’s what it’s designed to do. Also guard gloves are worse gloves Sitka have ever made loose around fingers. Just very disappointed in this gear. Don’t have a problem paying good money for good gear….. But this is far from good gear. Anyone looking for large hoody and large gloves it will be for sale on line.

I have used this hoody

I have used this hoody for two years while hunting turkeys and mushrooms in the spring. I have not found a tick on me! The built in hood and mask are great plus.

This shirt is perfect for

This shirt is perfect for the 55+ afternoon hunts especially while hoofing it deep into public land. If you throw a long sleeve under this you could probably get away with even cooler temps. Overall keeps bugs off and the built in mask is awesome.

This was my 1st time

This was my 1st time hunting, let alone Turkey hunting. I heard how nightmarish the bugs could be so I went with the insect guard gear. It was light enough to not be sweating in the midday sun & kept what bugs I did encounter off of me. Not a mosquito or tick bit me. I would definitely recommend making this purchase for anywhere you may encounter bugs and warm/hot hunts.

I’m 6,2 250 and I

I’m 6,2 250 and I got a 2XL, probably could have done a XL due to the elasticity of this hoodie. But this thing is awesome, it simply works, tested here in Mississippi in the river bottom and not a single bite, I have the entire system from head to toe and it’s worth every penny. I use it for fall bow season so it’s dual role here.

There were so many mosquitos

There were so many mosquitos buzzing around me just before daylight of turkey opener here in Florida that I could barely hear myself think. Despite the volume, I came out of the woods with one Tom and no bites. These new Equinox pieces are an essential piece of kit. If mosquitos or ticks are even a mild concern these pieces are on my body. I have them in almost every color at this point.

Just bought the Equinox guard

Just bought the Equinox guard hoody and gloves, did not buy the pants. Spring Turkey season opened in South Florida last weekend, i hunted four straight days in Fisheating Creek, it was very warm and muggy and the Mosquitos were in their prime. I forget my bug spray the first day, never got one sting where I was covered with the Equinox, three days with zero bug spray and not one bite. Went home Wednesday I realized the chiggers ate me up, from the waist down!!!

Wow! this stuff works. Started

Wow! this stuff works. Started with a pair of pants and hoody during August and September scouting. I ended up adding the gloves because that was the only place left for the mosquitos to bite. Only needed to add a little bit of liquid protection around the exposed part of my face. Was not overly hot while wearing it. But, nothing is cool in 80 plus degrees of heat. Great stuff no mosquito bites and NO Ticks.

I splurged on this product

I splurged on this product last year even though I already have more than enough turkey gear. I ended up wearing it every day for thirty days chasing Toms. It’s lightweight, breathable, minimizes odor, absolutely keeps bugs at bay and I wore the hood and facemask constantly which I absolutely did not anticipate. A lot of us already have a ton of gear, but this hoodie is worth adding to your arsenal.

Really like the gear, haven’t

Really like the gear, haven’t worn in field yet. But plan to use this for bow season and turkey season. The hoody ran big so had to replace large for a medium. All other gear I have is a large.

Sitka's insect shield is awesome

Sitka's insect shield is awesome and everything with is has become essential for me. I hunt tick infested areas on Long Island and mosquito ridden swamps in Florida. I definitely notice a difference in both bite numbers and just the volume of critters around me when I have these layers on. Besides the insect shield they are just a great lightweight base layer. They have replaced the Core Lightweight hoody for me when I hunt anywhere there might be bugs. I cannot recommend this and the other pieces of kit with insect shield enough.

Great piece of kit. Very

Great piece of kit. Very light weight for hot weather or can be worn under other layers. Built in face cover is nice, and if you choose not to wear it, it is loose enough not to strangle you. The thumb loops make it very nice to wear under a jacket without it bunching up.

It’s everything Sitka says it

It’s everything Sitka says it is. It’s a lot of money but when you where it the first time and fully test it it’s worth every Penny. Custom gear clothes for BOW hunters. Thank you Sitka for making great gear for bow hunters

My favorite sun hoodie of

My favorite sun hoodie of all time — the insect shield works incredibly well and I would no longer consider wearing anything else once the mosquitoes come out. It’s a very lightweight fabric but stood up to some heavy bushwhacking during the elk rut without taking any damage. I snagged it a few times where I was sure it would tear but it held strong. I’m sure it would be possible to damage without some care but I found the material to be surprisingly forgiving. If it came in solids I might wear it every day in the summer.

This shirt works well in

This shirt works well in repelling mosquitos, I wore this into a wet creek bottom and didn’t get bit once. It is very comfortable material and fits well. My only complaint is, it is a little fragile for the jungle of the Pacific Northwest. This is great for most any conditions as it does not cause me to overheat, but should not be worn as an outer layer when going through brush.

Just received this hoody. Really like it as a layer it is very stretchy as I got a xl because I wear everything else in xl and I could have easily went with a large! Will give more of a review when I use it this coming season!

Built in face mask, great

Built in face mask, great fit, and features of this lightweight top is amazing. A fantastic piece for the spring turkey hunter. It is as essential to the turkey hunter as the fanatic hoody is to the deer hunter.

I originally bought a large

I originally bought a large and it was too big. Ordered a medium and it fit similar to a large lightweight hoodie. This top will do what the lightweight hoodie didn't and that was protect me from mosquitoes. I'll run this as my base layer in September. The fabric is really stretchy. I don't think it breaths as well as other tops. I like the right chest pocket because I'm left handed. It was like this top was made for just me.

I used this shirt all

I used this shirt all turkey season in VA and was really pleased with it. Never had any ticks or bite's of any kind. Bought in XL and fit was on par for all my other Sitka shirts. I'm 6'-0' and 210Lb's. The only minor issue I have is the pocket. First, it's on my my shooting side and secondly, while it's roomy the material isn't hardy enough to support the weight of a cell phone so it pulls down. Not a deal breaker I just don't use it.

Great quality as expected from

Great quality as expected from Sitka. One thing though is the chest pocket. Just really confused as to why it is on the right side on this garment. It is the only shirt that has it on this side and renders the pocket useless. Not a deal breaker by any means, but like to be able to use all features of a product.

This is a great hoody

This is a great hoody and have enjoyed hunting in it. I wear a XXL in the core lightweight hoody so I purchased the same in the equinox guard. It was way too big so I returned it for an Xl and it fit perfect.

Wore my my first trip

Wore my my first trip of the year. Wore it under a heavier hoodie and jacket on mornings that it was near 30 degrees. By 11 am just had this on as at top with temps in the 70s. Worried about wearing in the green briar so tried to stay out of them as much a possible. Got stuck one or two times and no rips.

This is a great early

This is a great early season top. The chest pocket is massive. The facemask makes packing stuff in easier. It is great to not carry a separate mask. So far it seems the insect guard works. It is still early spring here, but mosquitoes are out, and I am fine. For those who want the lightweight of the ESW and the coverage of the light hoody, this is for you. The best part is you have protection from bugs as well as stink. Polygene, and insect guard make this top a must if you are going to be in the woods!!

The Equinox Guard Hoodie was

The Equinox Guard Hoodie was a wonderful addition to my hunting apparel. The built in insect guard is a life saver on those mornings when you run out of thermacell juice or you show up with no insect repellent. The built in face mask is a nice touch too! I usually put a layer underneath it if I think there's a chance I'll sweat, but when it gets wet- it dries out super fast.

The shirt had great breathability

The shirt had great breathability and the built in mask and hoodie is awesome. Upon receiving the shirt there wasn’t any odor like other protectants have, not mention being concerned about any harmful liquids touching your skin. After using the shirt I can confidently say I did not find a single tick on me after many sits beginning from mid April through the end of May.

I was fortunate enough to hunt in the Equinox shirt this past spring and was super impressed! The stretch and comfort of this piece is out of this world, seriously a game changer! The insect shield work flawlessly with zero chompers chomping. This shirt is honestly one of my favorite offerings from Sitka in a long time!

I used the Guard Hoody

I used the Guard Hoody on every turkey hunt last spring and never pulled a tick off of my skin. It is super lightweight and breathable for late season spring hunts when temps start to climb. And you can easily layer underneath with a core heavyweight or grinder shirt for those chilly mornings. The shirt stretches and moves well. The hood/face mask combo has maximum coverage to minimize the chance of a pesky mosquito finding her way in.

The Equinox Guard Hoody is exceptionally lightweight and breathable for those warm spring mornings. Having tick repellant along with the internal liners built into the garments is critical as ticks continue to get worse here in the northeast.
