Super warm love them

The Perfect Bib

There are many bibs that I’ve worn in the field, but this one takes the cake. Walked through many burrs in early Jan on a Doe hunt in 4A and only picked up a few, which I could flick off. The hip zips to allow ventilation without having flappy leg was awesome. The amount of continent pockets is a plus, whether you like them on your chest or hip area. The hip pockets really help you waft some heat out if you zip down the front and hips. Can’t make a better design.

Very well made and warm. I hunt in the mountains of Maryland, and West Virginia. We get very cold snowy weather in our late deer seasons. I got the bibs after season, but I have used them to plow snow on my ATV and coyote hunt. I really like them.

Bib is warm with high quality materials. Lots of storage and well designed pockets built in to the bib. The bib fits pretty good for my size. I would definitely recommend going to the store to try the bib on with other layers before buying.

Late season frigid Rhode Island deer hunt would have been miserable with out my Fanatic bibs, coat, and hat! Definitely the warmest combo I’ve found.

Fanatic Gear

I purchased the Fanatic bibs, parka, beanie and Blizzard gloves and the Cabella's Instinct Stand Hunter parka and bibs. I live and hunt North Eastern Ohio. I hunted this weekend wearing both sets for a day. Both days were 11 Degrees with a wind chill 0f -7 and basically blizzard conditions both days. Both sets have their drawbacks in my opinion. The Stand Hunter set was definitely warmer and has a detachable hood with plenty of well-placed pockets. They are also very heavy and bulky, although Waterproof. I like the fact that they still use a better suspension system for the bibs. The quality of the stitching was ok, not great. The Fanatic bibs and parka are absolutely lighter and less bulky. The biggest drawback for me was the fact they are not waterproof but water resistant. After a few hours the snow that built up on my shoulders and head started to melt, I assume through body heat, I was wet down to my base layer. I unbelievably was not cold but still wet. I think a hood would have helped with this as water or snow would not have gotten down my back. The beanie is great, but you need protection for your neck as well. The fleece is ultra quite but once the WindStopper gets cold, it gets a little noisy. This doesn't bother me much as I can't compound bow hunt from health issues and crossbow hunt now. The large pocket in front of the parka is awesome, I am not a huge fan of the large chest pocket that only closes with a small piece of Velcro. A waterproof zipper would be great. All in all, the Sitka gear was absolutely higher quality, so I returned the Cabellas gear.

Spend your hard earned money someplace else

I purchased the fanatic bibs and they lasted 2 seasons before they were damaged in my washing machine while following their care instructions. Sitka wouldn’t/didn’t warranty them “normal wear and tear” and the cost to repair them was the same as buying a new set. I’ll go back to using my $100 set of camo I purchased 15 years ago from one of their competitors. Not worth the investment. Stay clear. Customer service sucks.

Awesome set of bibs. Wore them for a weekend of coyote hunting in single digits temps with snow. Great outer layer kept me toasty- I never got chilled at all! Full length zippers made getting in and out over my 1600 gram boots easy. Love these things! Sitka just needs to offer a Large/Tall Fanatic Jacket to match.

Received this bib for Christmas and got out with it twice during the bonus week in 18 degree weather. Bib was very warm, quiet and easy to climb in. Very comfortable overall and I will be purchasing the jacket next.
