This hoody rocks. Love the

This hoody rocks. Love the different material on the face mask comparative to the core lightweight hoody. Find myself rolling the sleeves back at the cuffs almost every time though. Prefer this over the first lite origin. Starting to get some piling on this more so than my other Sitka gear. The length is a touch annoying when I want to reach for it when not hunting, but, that aint what it was built for :)

Outstanding comfort, movement and warmth

Outstanding comfort, movement and warmth without the bulkiness of other base layers. I used it in Alaska as a base layer and it kept me warm without causing me to sweat.

I’m mad I waited this

I’m mad I waited this long to pull the trigger. Can’t wait to buy the rain gear as well. I’m a stocky guy, 5’11, 250~ and XL fits perfectly. Not too tight, not too baggy, easy to layer for cold days but this is plenty warm on its own. Also love walking to my stand and not sweating.

Fantastic piece of equipment. Very

Fantastic piece of equipment. Very well engineered. They run a bit on the smaller side which is ok for a base layer. They do have a ton of stretch. I am 5 11 and 175 lbs the large was perfect. The sleeves are long which I like, most base layers will shrink after washing and your sleeves are short not this hoodie. The back is extra long to keep drafts out. The hood is great it moves with your head and does not obscure your view like most hoodies. The mouth and nose cover is great for really cold days. I hunt in both Wyoming and Michigan and I have to say this is my favorite piece of gear. I bought one for my wife for a four day hike and camping expedition in the Grand Canyon in late November she absolutely loved it. We she got back she bought another one! Not cheap but worth the money.

I was somewhat skeptical reading

I was somewhat skeptical reading the reviews but pulled the trigger and tried it out, and am very glad I did. Not a fan of the extra long sleeves with the mitten thing. I quickly learned to roll them back as I have no need for them. Looking at taking it to my local seamstress and having them cut off. Other than the long sleeves I absolutely love this hoodie! With a base layer under the hoodie and a warming layer, Patagonia puffer, and I'm good to around 30 degrees. Below 30 and I still have some gear weaknesses but plan to upgrade in the next year, stratus or fanatic not sure yet. Wish Sitka offered this hoodie without the long sleeves as an option. 9 out of 10 only because of the sleeves.

A bit too long in

A bit too long in the tail and too snug in the forearms. Will be tough to wear a long sleeve baselayer under this and still have mobility to draw.

I love this hoody. I

I love this hoody. I run hot most of the time and this hoody breathes really well. If the temp isn’t too cold, you just need a shell to block the wind and trap the heat. If it’s cold, you’ll need more than a shell, but this piece is very versatile.

An absolute must have for

An absolute must have for your hunting system. We wear it early, mid, and layer it up for late season. This is arguably Sitka’s most versatile piece of gear and we have zero complaints.

Combine with a wind shirt

Combine with a wind shirt or wind breaker jacket. Love the features on this jacket. When worn solo I find myself wishing the zipper pocket location was different but as I said this works best as a layering piece. I use this for running and hiking.

Got blessed to Draw Iowa

Got blessed to Draw Iowa this year! It was 28 degrees I had the Stratus bibs/jacket, Beanie and Fanatic Hoodie with mask on as base layer and was very comfortable. Great product Wish Sitka made tall sizes in everything. I’m 6.3 240 had a 2XLT XLT would’ve been fine.

I love this hoodie. I

I love this hoodie. I wore it in the stand with a set of base layers under it and my fanatic bibs and jacket over it in 24-degree weather and stayed extremely warm. I am 6'3' and 238 lbs. and the 2xl fit great.

For anybody wondering if they

For anybody wondering if they should pull the trigger and buy this. It’s a no brainer, yes. The sizing fits true. I’m 6’0 210. XL fits nicely with room for base layers. The built in face mask attached to the hood is awesome. I’d give this 6 stars if it was an option.

I bought this this year

I bought this this year after staring at the whitetail lineup for over a year. If you are on the fence, get off of it. It's probably by far my favorite new piece of gear. The built in gloves make it so I don't have to bring a set with me in light weather and same with the built in facemask, which unlike some other masks I find to be not as annoying and will easily ride under my chin until I need it. The inside of this is nice and comfortable but it's not a thick sweatshirt. With a merino layering you can get this down into the 40s with no wind. It has one downfall which is the lack of WINDSTOPPER (my only reason for 4 stars). This is a piece which could absolutely benefit from it for the guys who hunt those warmer fall days with a little wind and don't really need a jacket. I watched many reviews on this and I would echo the thoughts that if you're thinking about getting into the whitetail lineup, this should be one of your first pieces. I am 5-10 260 and bought a 2XL and it fits perfectly. And the back panel extends down a bit to either stay tucked into your pants or provide coverage while in the tree stand.

Excellent first layer. I’m an

Excellent first layer. I’m an Alabama hunter and we don’t need as many layers as most. This is perfect. Smooth outer layer with an extra soft, warm interior. Long sleeves are actually long enough NOT coming up too short for my long arms. Hoodie with built in mask eliminates the need to buy one. I’ve bought two to make sure I always have a clean one available.

I’m 511 225 weight lifter

I’m 511 225 weight lifter with a little gut and XL fits perfect. Have been using this as base layer for bow hunting and it is irks perfect. I also think it will work great as base layer when snowmobiling this winter.

I’m using this as a

I’m using this as a 1st layer over my base layer to hike into my tree stand and I then layer up. First time out it was right at 40F and I waited about two hours before I felt like I needed to add a layer. One thing I noticed right away is that having the thumb holes helps in adding a layer and the slickness of the material makes it slide right into the next layer without much effort. Also found the mittens to be a nice addition good to just get the cool air off the fingers but you can quickly have them exposed if needed. The length of the sleeves is what really makes me love this product. I’m 6’5” with extra long arms and the long version fits perfectly!

This was my first piece

This was my first piece to buy from Sitka. I have since bought about 12 different pieces because of the quality and fit. This is one of my favorite pieces to wear big game hunting. I choose to wear this instead of my core heavy hoody because it has hand pouch up front and the mitts. The only thing that would make this better is if it was offered in subalpine.

This piece is used during

This piece is used during bow season in Missouri (Oct.). I really enjoy the built in facemask and it is very breathable even in warmer temps. I've scouted in July with this hoody on, shot with it, and even worn it when it chills off hanging out on the back porch. Yes I'll sweat in it but it is never so much that I would rather take it off thanks to the zipper that runs down to my sternum. I'm 6'2 185 and the LT fits me well. My only gripe is the hand muffs that are built in. I don't use them at all and I'll instead wear the fanatic glove.

Love the hoodie. I especially liked the extra length for your thumbs, and the added bonus of flipping the end of the sleeve over to cover your whole hand. I bought the mens Fanatic series. I wish there was a hood on my jacket. I also would love to see pants instead of bibs. I did wear the gear in November in Michigan and was never cold.

Incredibly well made, surprisingly warm

Incredibly well made, surprisingly warm for the weight. My only complaint would be the size. I’m between an XL and XXL, ordered the XXL and it's a tent! Kept it to wear over a puffy in late season.

Never had any durability issues

Never had any durability issues from Sitka, besides this piece. I’m on my 2nd one after my first pilled very badly and tore at the seems in my first 5 hunts. Then on my current one, the same things happened AND the zipper broke while setting up on my very first hunt with it. Sent it in, and Sitka wouldn’t cover the zipper under warranty, which still has me mind blown. Will continue buying Sitka products, but will go with the lightweight hoody and better layering instead.

Love this piece, it's the one piece I can wear literally every time I go hunting, regardless of weather, works great early as an outer and great late as a layering piece.

I have been very pleased

I have been very pleased with the hoody. Warm enough for early season, and easily layers for late season. The convertible mitten hands are nice, although when folded back can impact dexterity a little bit. Overall, a great product.

Whoever designed this hoody is a genius and deserves a raise. Love the fold over mittens, thumb holes and the built in face mask. Feels so soft and warm. Can you please make it in different camo patterns, especially waterfowl timber? My first Sitka product. Great job! Definitely my favorite hoody.

You simply cannot beat this

You simply cannot beat this piece of hunting gear, I’m in southern Illinois where it’s 59 degrees one day and 21 degrees the next. This hoodie is perfect for layering or stand alone. A lot of thought went into this piece for sure.

I absolutely love everything about

I absolutely love everything about this but I returned it immediately. The gloves/mittens…why?? They’re just awkward and I’d much prefer to just use gloves with it if I need them. I’d love to use this as a layering piece in cold weather but then I’m wearing normal gloves and now I’ve just got a bunch of extra material bunched at the sleeves. Awful for bow hunters with releases or string clearance. Would love to see this redesigned without the gloves…I’d buy in a heartbeat.

This piece is warm and

This piece is warm and the facemask feature is really nice. However, the flip mits are more of a bulky pain than they are a helpful feature, and most importantly, it is NOT a durable piece. I’m on my second one, and both have pulled up so bad that I need to get it repaired. My first one had a hand mitt rip off when putting on a jacket, and my current one lost its zipper in the wash, even after I followed all directions. I do not put this piece through much at all and it continues to be the least durable I own, which is disappointing because I want to like it!

This hoody is the bomb!

This hoody is the bomb! Lightweight, yet so warm and perfect for layering. Wasn’t sure what to think of the built in mitten option at first but man are they every handy for bow hunting, love them. The built in face mask and mittens are perfect for someone like me that looses a lot of stuff lol. Another high quality piece of hunting apparel by Sitka, highly recommended.

Would have given this a

Would have given this a great review, however after only three evening sets in my tree stand this fall the hoodie has started to ball up worse than a 5 year old pair of cheap cotton sweatpants from Walmart. Called in and was told that they used synthetic materials and that 'peeling' was considered normal. Very disappointed will be switching back to my cheap ten year old camo that to this day hasn’t had this issue.

Only used this hoodie a

Only used this hoodie a few times but impressed so far. It's not super warm, but it gives great warmth for how lightweight it is. You could use it as an outer during early season, outer during mid season with a base layer, and as an underneath layer during late season. The best part about it is the fit. Not too tight, but very streamlined and doesn't get in your way. Its snug enough to easily be an underneath layer but not too tight that you can still get a base layer underneath. Very versatile hoodie.

The best, wear it all the time, year round. Dog training, dog tests, hiking, boating, fishing, hunting, working, going to the store. Three years still looks great.

This is my go-to piece

This is my go-to piece of gear for just about every hunt. I wear this all the time. The fit is great! Im 5'10 195 and I got a large and it fits great. I dont use the hand mitts that often but there are situations where they do come in handy. The built in face mask is one of the coolest features. It really helps you get your ninja mode on. When people ask me the one item that i use the most, its always the fanatic hoody.

By far the most useful

By far the most useful item I have. At times it's almost too warm. I'm mainly hunting in Virginia and Arkansas. With or without a base layer this hoody is a workhorse.

Great piece. I wear it

Great piece. I wear it all season in Tennessee. It works well as an outer layer under a harness early in the season then transitions to a mid or additional layer as the season progresses. The built-in face mask is a great feature and eliminates the need to bring one separately. I never use the flip-over hand mitts and could live without the added bulk at the wrist, but see the benefit for colder climates. I consider this an essential component of my gear.

Okay so I was extremely skeptical about this hoody, not for the quality but the fact that I didn’t see what the sleeves were all about, so when I found out that they are light Mittens...next level!

This is one of the best pieces of gear I've had. It's warm, fits great, pockets are well places, and the face mask works great. I'm 5'10' 165lbs, bought a Medium. The fit is great!

It's an amazing piece as

It's an amazing piece as many other reviews say. My only complaint is the pilling that has shown up after only a handful of hunts.

Been hunting with my fanatic

Been hunting with my fanatic hoodie for 5 seasons now and it’s held up great! Durability of the material has held up impressively. Features on this piece are amazing, hand muffs are nice but not really needed in my opinion. Over the past two seasons (this and last) I noticed the odor control has been slipping, for example on warmer days, working up a sweat getting into a tree, once I layer over my base layer (typically a synthetic lightweight) the odor doesn’t go away. Maybe I’m not doing something right but I’ve been busted twice now and I swear it was the odor. Overall I’m extremely happy with the piece, it’s my go to for every elevated whitetail hunt. Also, I do wish Sitka would offer this in solid color options as well (along with the rest of their entire lines) - I know I’d buy another one of these if it was a solid (maybe even merino mix!?)
