Review after 1 wear on a hike

I like the fit of the pants they mostly fit true to size. I have bigger legs and a behind but an athletic waist so they fit just a bit under being tight but are very flexible and have great mobility. The only thing is that I wish the crotch area had a little more room. When I first wore them, I was unsure if I was sent a woman's set of pants but they were indeed Men pants.

I've been a fan of sitka for years. Yes, for some reason they can't seem to integrate all the necessary features of a pair of pants into one single pair, and their prices are unreasonable, but their fit has been good for me so I have stuck with them. This pair of pants was the last straw. Fit has changed from the previous equinox guard pant in the same size. They finally add hip vents and a back pocket, but none of the pockets on these pants are zippered or evenly somewhat secure?

After a full turkey season

After a full turkey season with these pants I didn't find a single tick on me. They held up very well compared to the previous equinox pant.

Some of the best hunting pants I've ever owned!!

I purchased these just before the 2026 spring turkey season in a size 32R, and they arrived quickly. At first, I almost returned them because they fit fairly snug, but I decided to keep them — and I’m glad I did. I paired them with my Core Lightweight Hoodie, Ambient 100 Hooded Jacket, and Equinox Hunting Vest for the crisp, cool mornings in Missouri. After several ground sits in thick brush, I never had a single tick on me. I also wore this same setup — minus the Equinox Vest — while assisting in dense wooded searches over several days for a missing child in our area. Even while walking through some of the thickest timber, weeds, and brush, not a single tick made it onto my skin, despite many others in the group being covered in ticks for days afterward. I’d also like to highlight the durability of these pants. I walked and crawled through heavy briar patches, thorns, and thick brush without any visible damage or wear. I will definitely be purchasing another pair and highly recommend them for any outdoor application where insect protection is important.

Awesome pant

I used it on a Bear hunt in Tick infested Idaho. Did a great job of keeping ticks from crawling up my legs. The sleeve material worked great stuffed in my socks or in my boots. 🥾 I used them for the whole hunt and they did a good job of not holding body oder. The side zips were great and didn’t let any unwanted bugs in. I will be buying another pair of two for future hunts.

Love the bug repellent features

Hunt in a very tick/spider/chigger prone area. Having stuff built in that helps prevent them getting on you is a massive relief.

Tough to beat these pants!

Stellar upgrade on the material! The pocket layout, cellphone pocket on the right leg and back wallet pocket addition are perfect! They have been my staple from shed hunting, mushrooms and through Turkey season. With the increase in ticks… do yourself a favor and order 2 pairs!

Surprisingly good

I spend a lot of time in the woods . I have not found a tick on me while wearing these pants in the woods. 👍👍

Sadly they ripped the second day I wore them. They got caught on a small branch. But they protected me from mosquitoes.

Dislike the new material

The equinox guard pants have been my go to for several years. I wear them through out most of the year in south texas. The new guard pants are made of a completely different material that is not soft like the equinox guard pants and the new pants are quite loud. I returned these pants for these reasons. I did not wear them to hunt so cannot speak to durability, moisture wicking or other field tested properties.

Great with knee pads

Wearing with the knee pads from my timberline pants. I wore the original equinox guard pants all last summer for habitat restoration work and my only gripe was the lack of knee pads. The material in the guard pro pants seems more durable too, stretchy quality is also very comfortable. Note there is no belt loop reinforcement for suspenders in the guard pro. I’m hoping this is not necessary with the new fabric.

Guard Pro Pant

Actually will get my first use of the pants Saturday for a turkey hunt. The ticks are very bad this year in PA so wanted to have something that would help repel ticks. I sized up to put these item in over a gradient pant. Always happy with Stika clothing. They are the best

Good pants, could use some cargo pockets

Overall I really like these pants. Purchased to keep the spring tics off of me for a sping bear hunt in Montana. Ive worn them this spring in Wisconsin and have had no tics on me. When Ive worn other pants Ive had 2 to 3 tics when in the tall grass. I wish they had additional cargo pockets or a phone pocket but its not a deal breaker.

My new favorite hunting pants

I purchased these pants for turkey season and have been very please. From the cool of the morning to the heat of mid-day these pants are comfortable and quiet.

I absolutely love my equinox gaurd pants. I have 3 pairs, two for work/hunting and one pair just for turkey. When I bought the guard pants I thought they would be like my equinox pants only more durable. My 40R equinox are a little loose so I ordered a 38R in the new guard pants. Man are these suckers tight. It like wearing skinny jeans. They are nice and all but the sizing is way off. The 38s are more like a 36. They seem more durable than the equinox but for the money I wish they fit better. I wish they would bring back the original as they are my favorite pants.

Great overall only issue is they run small in the thigh area when vents are zipped up.

Awesome pants!!

Took these out for spring turkey. They were so comfortable and durable, handled the brush no problem. We were in tick country and the built-in gaiters were great for protection and peace of mind.

Another great product from Sitka. However, sizing is a bit off. I have the same size in the grinder pants, but the guard pro are a little tight on me. Everything else is as advertised.

Great spring pant

Love the gaiter for added protection from ticks and other little critters. Little louder than other pants from Sitka but not too worried about when chasing turkeys/ shed hunting.
