Great quality, weird fit.

As expected, the material and construction quality of this piece is top notch. Warm, stretchy, dries fast, everything about the core hoody is designed really well. I find difficulty in nailing down Sitka's sizing...sometimes I wear a large, sometimes a medium. Ordered a few of these hoodys in medium and they run tight on me, and long in the torso. Not ideal but still functional.

Heavyweight Hoody

I love this hoody! It’s perfect for early elk seasons or just a layering under a Kelvin light hoody, when the first frost hits. It dries quickly when you sweat. I will say that after time, the material starts to fray, but still a great piece to have.

Can’t go wrong!

I own several heavyweight hoodies. I utilize them on all my hunts from fall to spring. This garment breathes well and is extremely versatile depending on what base layer you choose to wear underneath.

My go to Hoody

This Hoody I use for cold weather hunting, If I am doing a hard hike I just hike in this hoody and a layer when I get to where I am going to hunt or glass. I also use this as daily wear in the winter when its cold outside.

Very comfortable hoody. I have purchased in 4 different colors. I’m 5’11” 200 lbs. XL fits perfect on top, tad bit long. Product does not pull like other cheaper fleece tops I own. Keep on pumping out more colors.

As always Sitka gear is outstanding. High quality materials perfectly built for my passion for the outdoors. Love it! A note on size: I purchased mine as an outer layer with two shirts beneath. I’m normally a medium which runs true to size.

Pretty good

Great mid layer, well constructed, didn’t retain moisture & must’ve done a good job keeping my stink down. Wore it for 4 days out of a 9 day hunt this elk season. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is that it began piling, which is inevitable, but thought it would take longer than my first hunt with it. I would purchase another, I’ve got confidence in its performance as advertised.

Great for in the Blind

I was able to wear this as an outer wear in a ground blind with only two light layers underneath. The temps wee below 32. I found the hoody part very useful also. I used this in all black for the ground blind. It has also functioned as a great mid layer while in a ladder-stand during temps below 25.

Sitka Heavyweight Hoody

The Sitka Heavyweight Hoody is my go to layer for all my winter outdoor activities from skiing to hunting because it’s weave construction traps a layer of air, yet allows body perspiration to escape. I now own two colors and the hoody is an indispensable part of my winter attire.

Great purchase

I bought one at the Bozeman store a couple of years ago. This season hunting in WY my husband noticed what a great feature the face mask/hood keeping the wind off my face. So he ordered one!

Heavyweight Hoody

This hoody is by far one of the warmest hoodies I have ever worn. It has no issue blocking windage which is a huge factor when sitting in 20 mph winds at 10 degree temperatures. It has more of a tight fit which in my opinion helps preserve the body heat. The full zip covering the face was an excellent design again to block that wind and can be used for face covering for any stalk hunts with out adding another layer for a face mask. All around a great product and I highly recommend it if you want to stay in the woods longer and stay warm!

Great Piece for layering

Really layering piece for cool to colder temps . Especially like the hood and fit although I some what wish I would have gotten the a large size as it is snug with a light wicking layer underneath. 5’ 10 “ and 175 lbs. Had not purchased any new Sitka for a few years and the quality lead me to buy the Fanatic System . This equipment is QUALITY!

Definitely a fine piece of apparel for my everyday and hunting adventures

The heavy weight hoodie is almost perfect. I am not a fan of the elongated back-bottom of the piece as I like it to be even all the way around my waist. Despite that, I still wear it and absolutely love it. Extremely comfortable. Extremely warm for the weight. No bulk. Great item!

Versatile

This piece of my layering system goes every where with me. From big game early archery to late season waterfowl this product truly compliments all aspects of my hunting season. Early season it is perfect for early mornings and late evenings as my outer layer, and packs easily when the temps warm up. During late season waterfowl I use the heavyweight hoody as a layering system which helps trap warmth and fits nicely under my gore-Tex shell without compromising movement. I’m 6’ 195lbs and large fits perfect.

This hoodie is deceptively warm for its weight. It finds a balance between bulk, weight, and warmth. I have other Sitka hoodies but this one is my new go to as I layer for Western New York hunts. (pro tip: You may want to strap your jacket to your pack for the walk in or you will be sweating!) Great Hoodie.

One of my favorites...outside layer or inside this hoody just works. From setting up a decoy spread to going to town this is an excellent piece when temps drop but u don't want the bulk of a coat. One of my top favs for sitkas system..

Love the heavyweight hoodie. I am 6’ 190 and like a tapered fit so the medium is perfect. Long enough in torso to stop wind and nice enough my wife allows me to wear them out on a date!!
