The Hudson jacket was the first piece of Sitka gear that I purchased several years ago. It has been head above shoulders, the best hunting jacket I've ever owned.

So good, I had to

So good, I had to get 2 - one in Marsh and one in Timber. Everyone in the duck club has a Delta Wading Jacket and now they have a Hudson too to cover all season. Best gear for duck hunting hands down. I've used Hudson (and Delta Wading Jacket) from Alberta, CA to Stuttgart, AK to South Louisiana.

Would rate higher because I

Would rate higher because I love the fit design of coat. Unfortunately worst zipper design on the market. Design and durability is ok but functionality of lining up and zipping is marginal at best. Bought for duck season last year and own many Sitka products. Like most avid hunters, we don’t mind spending for quality. This zipper system needs to be redesigned.

Bought this jacket a few

Bought this jacket a few days ago, (its July) but extremely comfortable, and very good range of motion when raising up my shotgun. I have a dakota vest I tried on under it and it feels amazing. Cant wait to use this in the field. Stood in the shower with it and i was simply amazed. Great product, worth every penny!

Great quality as expected from

Great quality as expected from Sitka. 5'10' at 185-190 pounds and a size large is perfect with room to layer. I have a Gradient jacket (large) to pair with this for mid-season, and a Duck Oven (large) for late season. As a matter of fact, the Gradient fits well under the Duck Oven and both will fit under the large Hudson for late goose season. Couldn't be happier with the system.

Haven't tested it in the

Haven't tested it in the weather yet considering I got it today but this is top notch stuff. It's very well made and it fits awesome. It pairs perfect with my light weight base layer and gradient hoody. Best thing is the slimness of the stuff but how warm it keeps you. It is not bulky at all and doesn't restrict movement. Took me a year to finally buy it because of the price but I will say I'll be buying a lot more.

I love the jacket! Bought

I love the jacket! Bought it in store after looking at multiple other ones. It does not get very cold where I hunt so I can usually just wear this and my Gradient Hoody and be just fine. The only problem I have found is after about a year it started to absorb water so I had to reactivate the DWR which was not a hard thing to do, so overall it is a great jacket.

Great jacket that most definitely

Great jacket that most definitely will not disappoint. I had been on the fence about Sitka for a long time, but glad I tipped the scale. 6’2” - 215lbs, originally ordered a large in this jacket and was a little tight through the shoulders so exchanged for a large tall. Fits great.

Hands down… the best jacket

Hands down… the best jacket I’ve ever owned. I’m 6’1”, 225, so I ordered the XLT and it fits perfect. I have hunted in temperatures ranging from 40°F to -10°F and this jacket does it all. We put it to the ultimate test last year in southern Louisiana during hurricane Beta. It rained sideways on us for two days, but this jacket kept me dry as a bone. Several of the other guys had other brands that kept them dry for a few hours, but nothing stood up to my Hudson Jacket. I hunt mostly in fields so the marsh pattern is perfect for me, but I went ahead and got the timber pattern too just in case.

I would give it 5

I would give it 5 stars but this clothing line runs small compared to others like Drake. I have a Hudson jacket in XL and can not fit anything under it to layer. On my XL Drake I could layer several items with no issues.

I used to eye ball

I used to eye ball this jacket and never dream of owning it due to the price. I ended up getting it and cannot imagine hunting in any other piece of outerwear. It will keep you bone dry on the soakers and plenty warm as is or with proper layers. Well done Sitka.

I should’ve bought it sooner.

I should’ve bought it sooner. For me hunting mid/North Missouri ducks this is the most versatile jacket a duck hunter can have, and needs. Durable and waterproof with well thought out pockets, just enough insulation to still be “cool” enough to wear it early season with minimal layers, but still warm enough to still be used in single digit temps comfortably when used with the Fahrenheit jacket as well. I love the stretch panels on the shoulders that allow full movement when shooting and holy cow... the hood! Best hood I’ve ever seen on a waterfowl jacket, fits your head nicely and keeps you dry but doesn’t have too much material that is baggy and limits vision.

Fit is great, wide enough

Fit is great, wide enough at the bottom to fit over waders on those rainy and snowy days on the Chesapeake, but also narrow enough to tuck inside. 46 inch chest, 38 inch waist, 18 inch biceps. The quilting inside doesn't make it bulky either. Side pockets are lined to protect the Gore-Tex, handwarmer pockets are not to high either.

Can't ever see myself owning

Can't ever see myself owning anything but Sitka after this jacket! My system is Merino base layer, Grinder Hoody, Gradient Jacket then my Hudson when the temps are below 40 degrees. I've never been cold or wet since owning my system and I tend to get cold fairly easy. Duck hunting in Wisconsin just got a lot easier!!!

When I bought the Fanatic

When I bought the Fanatic jacket I thought that was the best piece of hunting clothing I ever owned, now that I bought the Hudson for waterfowl I am not sure about that, this coat is amazing. Ever little detail is thought of and the quality is out of this world. I typically buy XL jackets and layer underneath, I decided to go with just a large since it is insulated and it fits well but if your someone that wants room for a couple layers underneath then go a size up. Outstanding piece of hunting apparel.

I've had this jacket for

I've had this jacket for over a year now and I love it. It's warm enough to use here in Texas down in the 40's by itself but if you add layers under it, I've been toasty warm with only one other Sitka warm base layer and add the Hudson Bibbs to it, and you're defintely toasty warm. I run dogs in Hunt Tests and you can have all kinds of weather. I like that it's not overly insulated so that I can wear it more months of the year. If it's colder, I just layer up. I have a bunch of gear from Sitka and absolutly love the product, the quality and durability of their products. Can't recommend them enough. I purchased the XL size and I'm 5'8' 230lbs and it fits me well. May have been able to go do a size, but I wanted the room for layers and I purchase XL for other stuff as well. Glad I did. I'd rather have the room.

I have been hunting in

I have been hunting in this jacket for at least 6 years. If it ever dies, I will buy the exact same thing. It has survived more than frozen marshes and rivers. I have taken this jacket into tree-stands and the mountains, and it has always performed exceptionally well. With proper layers, this jacket has kept me comfortable in temps ranging from -15 to 45. I purchased this jacket on the heels of a miserable day of duck hunting while I was wearing inferior equipment. That was the last time I was miserable while hunting birds. It has served as a pillow, a glassing seat, a boat seat, a blanket, etc. The Hudson has taken some severe abuse, but it is hanging in my closet, ready for the next season.

I just got this in

I just got this in the mail today and DANG! This is the Delta Wading Jacket on steroids. If you're the person who wakes up and throws on a tee, then grabs the Hudson - you'll be set. Now if you layer, you'll be set and HECKIN WARM!!!! Also...I was 'iffy' about the gray vents letting water in...NOPE it's not how it appears.

Great outer shell. Blocks wind

Great outer shell. Blocks wind and pockets are great. Conserves heat. Layer with a gradient hoody and a base silk and you are warm down to 20-25 degrees regardless of wind/rain/snow.

If you hunt waterfowl, get

Hunting a hurricane? No problem.

Hunting a hurricane? No problem. Hunting a white out? No problem. How about hunting with insane amounts of wind? Not a problem when you got the Hudson on; look no farther for an outer shell.

The Hudson jacket is best

The Hudson jacket is best waterfowl jacket I’ve ever owned. It’s kept me dry in multiple downpours or getting blasted by spray on boat rides. It’s the small things that make this jacket so awesome, like cargo pockets that stay flat when not in use, and the high handwarmer pockets. If I had to ask for one thing it would be a little more insulation in the arms. I do notice my arms get chilled when nothing else does, but overall I’d buy this jacket a million times again.

This jacket is one of the best hunting jackets I have ever had the pleasure of wearing. While hunting on the Columbia River (20-50 degree temperatures) it has kept me warm and dry, I highly recommend this jacket to any serious water fowler.

I absolutely love my Hudson

I absolutely love my Hudson jacket. Works perfect with my layering system, couldn't have asked for a more perfect jacket for those cold duck morning. Cold morning boat rides are much more comfortable now that I have the Hudson jacket. Great product, Sitka gear never disappoints.

I bought the Hudson jacket

I bought the Hudson jacket new this year and have to say the quality is vastly superior to any other duck coat I've owned. I was tired of getting wet in other 'waterproof' jackets. So far this jacket has lived up to the hype. In 30 degrees and 15MPH wind I had the heavy weight merino base layer, gradient jacket, and the Hudson and stayed warm all day. I have yet to test out the waterproof aspect, but with Goretex I have no doubt this jacket will stay waterproof for years instead of half a season. I'm 5'11' and 185LBS and ordered a large for layering. The jacket still fits a little large on me even when layering. The reason for the 4 stars is that the Velcro on the cuffs is very uncomfortable when they rub the backs of my hands. It appears the intent was that the rubber cuff would be the only part touching your skin, but since the sleeves are a little long on me, the velcro edges rub my hands all day long. Never expected this to be an issue when I tried this on. Overall pleased with the coat, but might try to trade into a medium for next season. Wish I could have caught this issue when I could have swapped out the coat, but didn't have a problem until I wore it all day.

Honestly, I figured many of

Honestly, I figured many of these features were “gimmicks” and while they would be an actual part of the jacket, I thought they wouldn’t work as well as advertised. I was delightfully wrong. This season, while attempting to fix decoys, I got tangled in the camo net of our boat and fell in the CT river and expected to be soaked. It was about 39 degrees out and I thought I was done for the day. I bought the right fit and tightened the rubber on the sleeves and was completely dry. Nothing got in my waders or in the sleeves and I was able to hunt the whole day with no problems! I’ve even swam streams to collect ducks with no problems. My one complaint is that the magnetic pockets aren’t waterproof. I guess that should be obvious. They have drains in the bottom to let water out but that will also let water in when submerged. Got my licenses and some shells soaked, but considering they are higher than where your waders end, it’s actually a great feature. Movement feels so natural, it feels like you don’t even have a jacket on! I still prefer a balaclava to the hood, but it’s the best I’ve come across. I’ll be buying the other camo with my Christmas bonus!

Incredible! That is the only

Incredible! That is the only way to describe the Hudson Jacket. Waterfowl hunters never know what they may experience from mother nature on a given hunt. Especially in the upper Midwest. Once October hits, this jacket is with me on every hunt. Just this past Sunday, it began to rain about an hour after day break. Three consecutive hours of rain and I was never wet. Temps were in the upper 30's and I was warm (Hudson Jacket over layers of; Core Base Layer, Fahrenheit Vest and Gradient Hoody) and dry. The Hudson Jacket deserves to be in every waterfowl hunters arsenal!

This jacket is awesome. I

This jacket is awesome. I hunt in the midwest where the temp can vary 40 degrees on a weekly basis. I have worn this jacket from 45 - 0 degrees and always been comfortable. I usually wear a Patagonia R1 hoodie as a base layer when its in the 30-40s but when it starts to drop i throw the gradient jacket over that and am always warm. I have quite frankly beat the crap out of this jacket over the past two years and have had no issues with the jacket and its always apart of the system when i am taking the boat up the river in the morning.

I have a Hudson jacket

I have a Hudson jacket I bought on line and I do like it. The sizing is what I have issues with. I bought a 2XL thinking I could layer under this jacket and I was wrong. I have a Drake jacket and liner that I use for late season and I thought this could be a replacement. The Drake is a XL with a shell and liner. It fits perfectly. I have a 48' chest measurement. I figured this Hudson in the 2XL would allow some layering but it does not. Can't even get a light sweatshirt under it due to the arms being so tight.

If you hunt waterfowl, this jacket is a MUST! I own over 30 pieces of Sitka and this by far is my favorite! 100% wind proof / water proof and warm! During the worst weather, the Hudson is always by my side!

I got to use the

I got to use the jacket today, it was perfect. Only thing I would recommend is buying one size larger to be able to layer. The appropriate size is nice if you do not plan to layer, I plan on 1 of each size depending on the need!

I’ve had this jacket for about 3 months now and let me tell you this jacket is so warm and blocks the wind. I don’t go anywhere outside without this jacket it so warm

I’ve had banded and drakes best jacket and nothing compares to my sika Hudson. From the cold rain to the frigid boat rides you can count on your Sitka Hudson to keep you dry warm and comfortable. Definitely worth the money. Thinking about getting one in marsh.

Customer service is terrible. Ordered

Customer service is terrible. Ordered this jacket well in advance of my hunt. Transaction went through online with no problem. Called 17 days later to see what was taking so long and I was told there was a glitch in the system and no jacket is available and no alternative solution was provided. Now i'm scrambling to find a jacket last minute for a hunt that has been planned for months. Thanks Sitka.

bought this jacket after going

bought this jacket after going threw about 3/4s of the hunting season here in southern Ontario Canada after layout hunting the lake multiple times getting soaking wet and cold in my Columbia PHG coat finally said enough is enough bought this coat and it changed the way i felt about layout boat hunting. coat keeps you warm enough without layering on colder days late December i found my self wearing long sleeve shirts just for the extra warmth and comfort. coat has stood up amazingly well after countless layout hunts and hours of blind hunting not a single issue. reasonably tripped over a under water stump in a pond hunting fell down shoulder deep had the bottom elastic and sleeve cuffs done stayed bone dry

This is my go to

This is my go to outer layer when temperatures start to drop in the Dakotas or mid/late January in Arkansas. Paired with a mid or heavy weight base layer, a Gradient hoody and the Hudson, this will keep you warm! Extra core warmth needed?, throw a Dakota vest over the gradient hoody under the Hudson to not impede with shooting ability. I've worn all layers at the same time and the ability to shoot is second to none. I've hunted waterfowl since I was 8 years old, and always struggled with staying warm with other waterfowl gear. After 30+ years, this is the 'go to' and I will never go back! Sitka isn't just a brand, it's a way of life!

After having this jacket for

After having this jacket for one year I can say it is the warmest jacket I’ve ever had. The Hudson is worth every penny. Very breathable and waterproof. I’ve sat in the pouring down rain all day and was dry the whole time. If you want the ultimate waterfowl jacket that you can use all season this is the one to get.

The new model is significantly

The new model is significantly improved over the original, & the fit is better, the gore-tex strech is awesome. I had a buddy that always hated on Sitka, he borrowed this jacket on a hunt (I was warm wearing the Fahrenheit jack), needless to say, like anyone else, he was immediately become sold & asked if he could buy it from me! This jacket by itself won't keep you warm in 0 degree weather, but with the Fahrenheit vest or jacket, you will be covered in any temps!

I can’t say enough about

I can’t say enough about this jacket. Insanely breathable so you can get away with a t shirt in the early season on rainy day’s in the 50’s. The gore wind stopper works like a dream making it so I was comfortable with nothing but a base-layer under in the 30’s. Throw a Dakota vest on next and you’re good in the 20’s. Wore base-layer, gradient, and then Hudson and I was toasty in -3 windchill. If you’re serious about duck hunting this is your jacket.

I purchased this jacket shortly

I purchased this jacket shortly after I moved to Alaska, knowing that harsh conditions were in my waterfowl future. This jacket has performed flawlessly in around 50+ hunts to date involving plenty of brush busting, layout boats and extended trips. Having worn this jacket in everything from the mid 50s to teen temps (w/ layers) I am nothing short of impressed. The jacket layout is super nice, everything from where the lanyard placements are located, to the pockets, the jacket cut, and the articulating hood allow you to be more comfortable in the field. (I am 5'8 190 and purchased a large- great fit)

This coat is the best

This coat is the best I have ever had for extreme cold and wet conditions. It’s fully water proof and light weight making it easy to move and shoot game. I would highly recommend this coat to anyone. I am very impressed with the quality.

I first ordered the Wading

I first ordered the Wading jacket because I would rather be able to layer up and use a lighter jacket to be more versatile. I'm 5'10', 190lbs and a Large in the wading jacket was too small. With a fleece jacket underneath, it was very restrictive for shouldering a shotgun. I found a local store that had both the Hudson and Wading jacket. Once I tried them both on, I discovered that the Hudson works for me in a Large because of the stretch material on the back of the shoulders. I would need an XL in the Wading jacket. I was torn on which one to get, but went with the Hudson in the end. In most cases my use will be for colder weather. I've only used the Hudson once in 30MPH North winds and raining. It's pretty awesome. Definitely recommend either jacket, just try them on with your layers to make sure you get the right fight before your purchase.

This coat has made life

This coat has made life so easy in the blind and by the river. I looked at and tried on a lot of drake coats, tried this coat on and immediately paid the extra money for the quality. I would buy this coat again tomorrow immediately. 5’10”, 175, for the Large. I wore a T-shirt under it no problem into the mid 30’s. Light long sleeve shirt into the 20’s without getting cold. One thing I would change is a second inside coat pocket. Otherwise this thing is amazing.
