Used this bag two nights camping out for WV spring bear training season. Nothing crazy good but one night it go into the 20s and bag let me very warm. Packs down much nicer and lighter then my old Kelty bag. Real test will be in a month when I head out to MT for a spring bear hunt. I’m 6 2” and bag is plenty long enough.

Took it out in <15° on a few occasions and it kept me warm. Good to know it can still perform in wet conditions. Good articulated fit - not too bulky and not too constricting in the body. Zippers don't catch. I used the arm holes and foldable bottom, like an insulation suit, more than I thought I would. Interior fabric is comfortable.

So much to love about this design! The fact that I can zip out the arms and feet and use around camp or glassing for elk is brilliant. Also love the chest/phone pocket to keep the phone handy and warm. Super warm and light to boot!

Very well thought out bag. Zipper doesn’t snag near as bad as my western mountaineering bag I’ve had for years. The only thing that I would change is it’s really tight around the chest if you sleep with your arms out your chest. I’m also a pretty large guy with broad shoulders so I wouldn’t call it a design flaw.

Product seems very high quality. It’s very warm, all the features are great. Love the arm holes and ability to wear it, makes night time bathroom trips so much better. Only reason for 4 stars is the misleading temperature marketing. Marketed on website as “comfort rating 15” which if you know sleeping bags well at all, the comfort rating is just that… you’re comfortable at 15. The pictures blur out the true temp rating so when you get the bag and you’ve just spent a small fortune on it, planning a very cold trip and alarming find the bad is actually a lower limit rating of 15… that’s a major difference. Technically, that puts the comfort rating up between 30-40 degrees. If it’s a comfort rating, why in the world would you advertise it as that and then send out a product that says something totally different?? Hope it’s as warm as I need or else I just dropped a ton of money on a bag that won’t have a use.

I had a chance to use this bag on a high-country hunt in early November. There was no heat source in the tent used on this hunt. I stayed completely warm in nighttime temperatures for the first few nights, which got down to about 20F, with a wool base layer on and wool hiking socks. The third and fourth nights, it got down to about 10F (a few degrees below the middle rating on the bag) and I had to add a few layers and put my thin down jacket across my chest in the bag; I stayed very warm with those extra layers. Regardless of the outside temperature, my feet stayed toasty with a pair of wool socks on. The functionality of the arm zips was awesome, and the hood was very warm. Absolutely best sleeping bag I’ve used, extremely warm and isn’t to constricting to lay in like most down bags I’ve used. The arm holes are definitely a plus for sitting outside. It would be great if it came with a stuff sack which is my only non positive feedback but I got a waterproof stuff/compression sack and it stores away very neatly. Definitely recommend!

I knew I’d like it, but didn’t realize how much I’d like it. Only tasted a few times in preparation so far for the upcoming hunting seasons and all I can say is it’s WARM. Exterior seems to have a good water reactance to any moisture that could hit it. The arm slots are a great idea and are easy to access. I am 5’11” with a muscular build and broad shoulders and do not feel confined as that was my biggest worry compared to my other bags. Fully zipped it is close to your face but understandably if it’s that cold. Packs down well for backpacking and doesn’t weigh much. Highly recommend.

Excellent backcountry sleeping bag choice! Hunted in Colorado last week and we had morning temperatures in the low 30s most of the week and two days of steady rain, and the Hyperdown didn’t fail. I slept very comfortably (almost too warm) in just with T-Shirt and light weight long John bottoms. The bag handled the moisture great. Love the technical features and hooded design, especially when nature calls at 2AM! Only minor issue is the one arm zipper snagged the material and made a small tear, but I’m working with Sitka warranty/repair to address that. You won’t regret purchasing this bag…best one on the market as far as I’m concerned. Good luck on the woods!

I hunt in the mountains of the northeast. Weather can range wildly from day to day. I have use the 30 degree bag from Sitka since it came out and love it. I purchased the down bag for the colder nights. I have yet to have a real cold night to test this bag out but you can feel the warmth within seconds of being in the bag. The fit is the same as to 30 degree bag. As always the quality of the material and manufacturing is top notch. I am also amazed at how light and packable the bag is. It is noticeably lighter than the 30 degree bag and packs into a smaller stuff sack. Bottom line is I would recommend.

When it comes to sleeping bags, down is unbeatable for its warmth to weight ratio and packability. With the zippered arm holes and ability to hook the bottom of the bag up, you can literally wear this bag and walk around! Pretty great for those especially cold days on the mountain as you're glassing for critters. It’s also great because you can wear it around camp, and even take a leak with it on! Super compressible, lightweight and very warm.

Excellent Product. This bag delivers as promised. Opened our bags for the first time on a 9 day sheep/moose hunt in the Canadian Rockies. Nights went to -10 C (14F) and the bags kept us warm. They are lightweight, very packable, and are the most comfortable bags I have used in the backcountry. I love the arm zips and ability to get up and light the wood stove without getting out of my sleeping bag.
