The Best Pant Sitka Makes

Good pants
Wore these pants for ten days straight on an elk hunt and they seem to be holding up well. They have a pretty slim fit, if you have bigger thighs, I would size up. The hip vents are great when you need them. I like the knee pads and I think they’ll really shine hunting whitetails from a saddle. The cargo pockets are a little small and have a very thin divider that gets in the way. With gloves on, I couldn’t feel the divider and had a hard time getting items in and out of the pocket. The divider needs to be more substantial or removed completely. I will be cutting mine out.

Intercept Pant Solid Colorway
Fit - these pants are stretchy. I’m 6’-1 215 lbs & I ordered a 36” regular inseam. Fit is perfect but the knee pads ride below my knee caps, so I wear without the pads. This is my only reasoning for 4 stars. These are probably the most comfortable pants I own. I got the solid color and I wear them to work, the range, even to coach youth hockey in. They have a waffle pattern on the interior face of the fabric and are warm yet breathable. The hip zips are awesome for hiking and dumping heat. I wish they came in more solid color options. I would own one in every color.

The best!
The intercept pant is the best elk pant I’ve ever used by far! Super quiet! Light weight! Just enough warmth on the cool September mornings and when it heats up or making long trips the vents are amazing for dumping heat and cooling off!

Great pants!
These pants are incredibly comfy. Also very quiet which is my favorite part. The biggest issue I have with these pants is the lack of the mesh vent backing when you unzip to vent your legs. I also wish these were available in more colors/patterns.

Great Niche
Love the pant. It fits the perfect niche between the Mountain Pant and the Ascent. With the Ascent I often use a base layer for the cool morning. I don’t have to do so with the Intercept. The new knee pads are killer that are less stiff and contour better. The side vents are great but could use a fabric liner. Running two pair for early scouting already. This pant is a winner!

Shockingly Good
I’ve beaten the everliving snot out of these pants for the last two seasons and have been shocked as to how well they’ve done. A little warm for some early season hunts, but I’ve found myself wearing them from late August to December since I got them. Quiet, durability is seriously impressive, and the fit is spot on. They will stretch out a little bit after a couple days of backpack hunting, but it was never an issue. Only wish there were more colors though.

1 Yr Review. (VA mountain region)
the Intercept pants have become my go to for early-mid season. during the early season with no base layer they are perfect. I have a lot of long hikes with elevation gains so having the vent to dump heat is a huge bonus. when the temps start to drop they are still good to go with a base layer underneath. - Temp rating hot to 30s with Base layer (moving not static on the low) - the material blend is super quiet and keeps smell at bay when out for multiple days sweating. - upgraded knee pad are a definite upgrade to the old ones and work much better. - Pretty tough pants for how light they are, lots of bush whacking and no issues at all.

Nicest pants I have
These are probably the nicest pants I've ever had and I'm very happy so far. I am about 5'10" and 158lbs (~30-31" waist) and these pants fit great. I really like the cut, the fabric is quieter than any other softshell pant I have, and the merino interior is great. I have worn them on a three day fly fishing trip, wet wading all day and they held up great and they didnt stink like hockey equipment by the end. The only thing I would change is to make the side zips bigger.

Charge us $5 more for back pockets
Everything the pant advertises is true - flexibility/vents/knee pads etc. All of that is great... but they're lacking something that all other pants have. BACK POCKETS. Why? Even the sitka pants without vents lack back pockets. Back pockets were always, and always be, useful - I really can't figure out why sitka decided to drop them. I admittedly didn't notice that they didn't have back pockets when i ordered, but dang it was annoying while actually hunting to not have an empty pocket to put headlamps, cliff bar wrappers etc in without having to take your pack off

love them so far
I haven't taken them bow hunting yet but I'm wearing them in my lazy boy as I type - they are super comfortable and quiet. the knee pads have been helpful this past week because I had to kneel down and remove floor moulding for a carpet installer. The pads are a little thinner and have less surface area then the knee pads in the mountain pants but seem sufficient for how I'll use them in the mountains. These may very well be a 5 star pant but I need to go through thick brush for a few days before I decide that. I like the side vent zips and so does my fiancé. The sizing is consistent with my mountain pants. I have 34T in both. 6'1" and I fluctuate between 190-205 pounds.

Top tier pant for many uses
I just spent a week on a personal alpine goat hunt in hot weather in Northern BC. As a hunting guide, I have been impressed with Sitka gear through many seasons. These pants are impressive in fit, function and features. Love the zips on the back side- the bugs and heat stayed out. Nothing is as quiet as wool- but these are close!

Extremely quiet! I love all the features. Only one issue. The knee pads load from the top and your foot may get hung in the pocket. If that happens, you’ll rip the pocket. I wish that Sitka would add Velcro to keep the pocket shut or change the loading to bottom like the mountain pant.
