I've owned this for 2-3 years & it gets worn to work everyday when its cold. It can be worn with a long sleeve shirt down to 50, below that & I add a jacket. It has held up very well. If it gets dirty, you can easily wipe it down with a wash cloth & some water! The material is soft-shell, so its fairly abrasion resistant, but its also smooth, so sliding a jacket or hoodie over the top is very easy & doesn't get hung up.
My only complaint is the collar is too big. I look like John Travolta from Saturday Night Fever, LOL! But like I like the vest so much, I still wear it all the time!
It would be great if they made the collar a little shorter, other than that, there are absolutely no complaints at all!
It is just like the Dakota vest, except it doesn't have the high hand warmer pockets & it doesn't come in optifade marsh/timber.
If you are on the fence, get it, you will be happy you did!
My review of this vest is that it is so well made that I own 2. Great fit and warmth.
I am not a normal vest guy. I ordered this vest in black to layer under heavy jackets for more wind protection, or to wear as a stand alone piece. It is the best fitting vest I have ever owned. I wear it under jackets or bay itself. If it is in the 50 and below in Oklahoma I wear this vest. Its not too bulky and it cuts the wind out. Just the product I was looking for, I will order different colors going forward. Best clothing investment I have made.
I’m normally not a guy to wear a vest, but the jetstream vest is awesome. It’s cut is nice so it fits well and looks good when you’re wearing it. The wind stopper is perfect when paired with the little bit of insulation It has. I find this to be a great piece when the day warms up some and you shed your heavy outer layer of it cools off a little in the evenings during a hunt but still need some wind protection. I like to wear it just over a heavy weight core zip T and it’s great at keeping me comfortable without the bulk.
Love this vest! There has yet to be a trip into the woods that I have no worn this since owning it! Works casually with a t-shirt, layered on top of core light/heavyweight for fall hunting, and always works into my late season layering kit as well! Very highly recommend this piece of gear!
I've never been a vest guy before but this is turning me into one. I bought this vest in mud with a plan to wear it just for everyday as well as early season hunting all the way through late season hunting. To me, the vest and a long sleeve shirt is good for hunting in 70+ degrees weather. Once it gets down into the 60's and below is when I begin using it for a base/mid-layer. I don't think that this vest is loud so to me it's ideal to wear hunting whitetail deer. The vest is very thin which surprises me because the WindStopper in this vest is amazing. It is an extremely versatile piece and it comes to every hunt with me whether I end up wearing it or not.
I'm 6 foot and have found that the vest fits true to size, XL for me. However, if you are planning on wearing this on top of a jacket or hoodie I would order it one size up.
Great vest! Blocks the wind, adds warmth to your layering system, packs small and reasonably lightweight. I wish this came in tall sizes like the jacket. I'm 6' , 200lbs. XL is baggy in the front, L is perfect fit but it a bit short for my torso. Kept the large but this would be so much better with an extra couple inches in length. As far as performance, its does exactly as advertised!
I have this vest in open country for hunting and in mud for every day. Just ordered it in black as well. The perfect vest for most any condition. Can be layered to make it ultra warm or warn with light layer below for wind and rain resistance and can stay cool. Have hunted with this vest in near zero degrees and warn it on just cool fall days. It is my go-to vest for hunting, work, and every day use.
This is by far my favorite piece of hunting gear. Great at blocking wind and keeps you warm while still being light enough for the hot days during archery season. Fits great and seems to repel light rain fairly well. Have 2 vests and 2 of the Jetstream jackets. Please don’t ever stop making this!
This vest is sweet, my buddies like my vest so much that they too bought one.
Phenomenal product! Rarely leave home without it. Fly fishing, chukar hunting, early season archery, you name it. It keeps the core warm, wind out and is great for when you pop a squat on the mountain to glass or are hiking around and don't want to wear a jacket but need to regulate your body's heat as you go. I have a handful of Sitka products and the Jetstream Vest is hands down my most used. For sizing reference, I'm 6' and 200 lbs. and the XL gives me the length I need and has room to layer underneath.
One of my favorite vest from Sitka. The Windstopper technology works great as an outer layer over the top of a Sitka base layer (traverse hoody is my favorite) on windy, cold days. I also wear this piece in Mud as casual everyday wear around clothing as well.
Great vest! The Gore Windstopper technology does its job by keeping the wind from reaching your core, in return keeping you nice and warm. Very true fitting to size (I'm 6'1" and 185 lbs and the large is a perfect fit). This is also a great vest to use for casual wear as well.
I've not had the chance to use this one a hunt yet, but I have worn it camping and backpacking several times. I've worn it on sub-freezing days over a long sleeve t-shirt, and sub zero days under a coat. The Windstopper material definitely does it's job and the high collar keeps drafts away from your neck. Overall a great piece of gear. I have one problem with this vest, which is the same problem I have with most of the Sitka line. I am 6'2" tall and 200lbs and in good shape. I try to buy "tall" clothes because they fit a guy with my build better. The bottom of this vest rides right at the middle of my belt. It's not long enough. If this (and other jackets/shirts) was another 2 inches in length, it would be PERFECT.
I used this over the cold weather hoodie and it was great 3rd season elk in Colorado stopped the wind and added the extra warmth on the cold 17 deg mornings
This is honestly my favorite piece of gear that Sitka makes. It's extremely versatile. It's amazing how much warmth this piece adds. But it still breathes extremely well. Paired up with the Core and Traverse it kept me extremely comfortable hiking in temps at 25 degrees and with the wind blowing 10-15 mph. This vest is always with me once the temps start to drop. The windstopper works perfectly and does exactly what it's suppose to do. A must have piece of gear!
The Jetstream Vest is great as an outer layer in conjunction with the Core series for those cool spring, fall, & summer days. It is also great as a mid layer when those late fall or early spring winds still have bite to them. I lowered my rating 1/2 star because of the white zipper back (really?!?). It sticks out like a sore thumb unless the garment is all the way zipped up.
Early season must have! Light weight and packable. Perfect for keeping your core warm and the wind off of you while keeping the bulk down. Great for pairing with a zip-T in warmer temps and then using as a layer piece with a cold temp system. The pockets are a nice touch and are as comfortable as a hoody's. Super versatile and a must have for your sitka system.
i am a gore hunt tech but before i joined that team i had already purchased two Jetstream vests, open country and a solid. along with with many others pieces i paid full price for because the gear is great and does its job. a traverse hoody and the vest will get where you need to be in mid September.
The Jetstream vest provides all the warmth I need during early season hunts when teamed up with a core or traverse undershirt. The Gore WINDSTOPPER will make sure the wind doesn't cut through you stealing your warmth. I also use the vest as a layering piece as the temperature starts to drop. I test product for GORE and the Jetstream vest is a critical piece in my layering system.
The Jetstream Vest is an absolutely fantastic piece of gear. I can team it up with a light shirt in the early season and keep the morning chill off my back while glassing or put it over my Traverse in the late season and hike all morning without being too hot or cold. I test product for GORE and they really got it right with this vest. The pocket sizes and locations are great, the WINDSTOPPER will keep your core warm when the wind wants to cool you down while the neck and arm holes are snug to your body which keeps the wind from sneeking in.

I love the vest. As others have said I’m 6’ 190lbs and the Large is almost perfect just needs 2” in length. The XL was way too baggy. If you layer a lot underneath it I guess it would work but I like my vests to be on the tighter side to my body.
I originally purchased this vest for daily wear, and I still do wear this vest to the office. How ever it has worked its way into hunting with me as well. Great all around vest!
I recently bought the Jet Stream Jacket, in the Moss color. Just today I received the JS vest and now noticed the color isn't the same! Since you keep the camo's the same in different clothing options, why not kept the same for this pair?
Very strange
MUD (L) - 5'10/195lbs
Got this in the mud and dang is it sharp, pair this with some grinder pants or mountain pants... you'll be getting the ladies in no time (DISCLAIMER - YOU WILL PROBABLY NOT BE PULLING IN THE LADIES) but without a doubt it's so sharp, blocks the wind, little bit of warmth... Awesome piece!
