My hat size is 7 3/4". This beanie fits perfect. It's very thin so it does not cause overheating. I wear this while I'm walking and then stuff it in my pocket when I put on the blizzard GTX hat while I'm sitting in the stand. I would say that it could be too big for someone with smaller hat size.

I use wool all season long. Great thing about wools, even when wet it retains 70 percent insulating power. Great early season by itself and great as a liner later in the season under a thick beanie. .

It’s a beanie, so there’s not much to review—but I’m a large guy with a big head, and it fit great. I haven’t tested it yet in real Montana cold, and I’m a bit skeptical since it’s pretty thin. That said, Sitka designs everything around layering, so it’s probably excellent in the right setup. I just wouldn’t choose it as a one-and-done cold-weather piece.

I like the feel of the hat, but it shrank the first time I washed it and now I can't wear it. I washed it on cold, gentle cycle with scent killer laundry detergent. This leaves me with a $45 hat I can't use. I washed it with several other things I purchased and this was the only one that shrunk. Disappointed.
