Neck gaiter material and construction is perfect to be silent and warm but the dimensions are off. It is too small in diameter to pull up over mouth etc if needed and too tall to keep tucked under chin. I hunted with mine doubled over to reduce the height but felt cramped. I’ll be cutting about 2-3” off the height and re-sewing the hen to make it functional.

Just spend the money and get this one. I've tried drake, nomad, and other neck gaiters. They are ok but this one is warmer and totally blocks the wind on a cold boat ride.

cold weather performance
This neck gaiter is top tier. The only one that can compare is a turtle fur neck gaiter. I wore this many of times but the most noticeable circumstance was in Barrow, Alaska when it was -50 with wind chill. While all other neck gaiters were catching snow and soaking through this think performed. Of course I’d have to rotate due to the condensation of my breath but this is the best of all neck gaiters on the market. Of course it could be better it could made to stay on your face a bit more easily and it could have a lower section better tuck into your layers. Think of a dive hood tucking into your wet suit. But those are nit picky thinks only for that senario. All around would recommend to anyone going on a trip where it’s below freezing or heavy cold winds on a peak

It’s definitely warm. A little snug over the nose, but boy does it cut the wind. Got caught in a blizzard and between this and the insulated jet steam hat I was warm despite being covered in an inch of snow. If you wear glasses the windstop forces your breath into your glasses and they immediately fog up. Packs easily, very warm. If your hunting late season in a saddle or hang on I’d say this is a good tool to have for the really cold days.

This is my favorite item
This is my favorite item from Sitka. Was using for deer hunting when temps were in the teens and it kept me very warm. A bit much when temps are above freezing. Very durable as well.
