Celsius Jacket

  • Whitetail : Elevated II
(34 Reviews)

The Celsius is the whitetailer’s puffy jacket. But instead of the crinkly fabrics found in most technical insulators, its baffles of PrimaLoft® Silver Hi Loft Insulation are sheathed in an ultraquiet, durable Micro-Fleece. It’s ideal as a mid layer, but you can also use it as an outer layer, letting you stack and shed to keep pace with the Midwest weather.

Kick ass coat. Highly recommend if you have a more collapsed form with your bow drawn. It is a bit bulky and if you have a drop away rest with a knot tied to your cables it can rub. No other complaints. You can turn and twist easily because of the stretch in the armpit and quiet. Worth the 230 bucks.

This is a great jacket. One of the most versatile pieces I own from Sitka. Silent, warm, and does a pretty good just at blocking the wind unless its STRONG, and directly from your 3 or 9 o'clock direction and blowing in the underarm ventilation panels. I am 5'11 and 200lbs. I went with a large and its snug but I intentionally wanted it that way. It still allows for any of the thinner baselayers under it without feeling bulky. Things like the fanatic or equinox hoody make it real snug. But the reason I bought it this way is to actually use it as a midlayer underneath my XL stratus jacket. May sound weird to some but with a merino heavyweight top, the celsius, and the stratus jacket, I can make it down in to the high teens before I start thinking about the incinerator system, and it doesn't seem any bulkier than just my incinerator jacket with a base layer under it. The advantage is, it if warms up to 45 or 50 at mid day, just remove any of the layers you want until you're comfortable. I give the jacket 2 thumbs up.

This is one of my most favorite jackets I've purchased from Sitka! Very nice for the long sits during the later parts of the whitetail hunting season, the jacket is very comfortable and extremely quiet and fits very well. I'm 6 foot and about 190lbs and a XL fits well, leaves room for a Sitka base layer under the jacket!

Just bought the Celsius Elevated II. Going to use it for duck & goose hunting, not deer. Fits like a Glove. Bought in an XXL. If you are buyng this, buy it in 1 size larger than you formally get. I am 5' 11'' 250 and fits perfect. Celsius II is perfect for cold weather that isn't bone crunching cold. Its not for rainy days, but if your looking for that in between warmth on 30-40F days, this stuff is perfect and it will stop the wind on a dime. This jacket is going to very warm. Perfect for a field goose hunt. Duck hunting over water, it will be interesting. Can't go wrong with Sitka Gear. You pay for it, but you are getting your money's worth.

I’m 6’2”, 190#. I bought a large tall online and I’m glad I got the tall. I love the fit. It will work perfect with a core top of an appropriate weight. I did a lot of research and saw mixed reviews. I don’t understand the negative comments. The jacket is totally silent. Drawing my bow is like I have nothing on. Have not worn it in the cold yet but I expect it to be fine into the 30’s. I’ve heard the cold with wind can be a problem. We shall see. Temps less than freezing with high wind or rain will require a different system. Which is fine because nothing covers all. This is the quietest jacket I never heard. It’s perfect for Texas winter tree stand hunting.

Great whitetail jacket for mid to late October and early November hunts in Wisconsin. When temps drop below 35 I paired with a core heavyweight zip tee and fanatic hoody and was good for all day sits. Great alternative for those who dont want to go all out for a fanatic jacket.

This is a great addition to the family of medium weight outer wear. I paired this jacket with the stratus pants and to say they're a great combination is an understatement. The brushed fleece is quiet and warm with only minimal layering needed in weather into the 40's. Its my go to set when the temps start to drop in November

Excellent jacket for the money. This morning in central Alabama, I sat through a heavy freezing fog in the upper 20s with only a medium base layer and this jacket, and I was more than comfortable. With my old gear, I was having to pile on the extra layers to keep from being miserable in these cold, humid conditions. My only complaint, if you haven’t guessed it already, is the tightness in the arms. Once I get the jacket on, it’s fine. The problem is getting it on with sleeves underneath.

I ordered a size larger than i usually wear, and it fits great. Very comfortable. The sides (under your arms down to the waist) have the special fabric to keep burrs from sticking, which is a great idea, but those spots lack insulation. Gets a little cool to me when it gets windy. Other than that I love the jacket.

I purchased this jacket for layering and as with all of their gear, and how it fits me, ordered 1 size larger. This is a great jacket and very quite and warm however I am giving only 3 stars because the sleeves are cut weird and it does not layer well over a shirt or fanatic hoody and under the stratus jacket. Also due to its very soft inside and exterior fabrics, combined with the tight sleeves, it is really hard to take off when layering and you end up peeling the sleeves inside out. This is again a great quality Jacket that is really warm and quite. Its fit however is not practical for what it is meant to do. It would be fine by itself as single outer layer.

This jacket is excellent as far as warmth and quality goes but--like the Stratus that I also have a review on--it runs small. Do not get your regular size, unless you're lucky you will be sending it back. I love the gear and will continue to buy and use it but the sizing is off by 1. L is XL, XL is XXL. Trust.

Great jacket as most Sitka items are and performs as they say it will. Only reason it’s not four, is the fit is strange. I wear a med/ large in all my other gear, even Sitka products, and this jacket is tight in the arms and through the shoulders/ chest. Works with just a t-shirt as a base, but anything more and the jacket becomes uncomfortable and does not function. Makes layering a pain. Have a large, Am going to get another in an XL.

Quiet durable and warm. It is very light and provides a lot of protection from the elements.

My system includes the Core Lightweight Hoody as the next to skin, Equinox, Celcius, or Stratus Jacket.

For any serious hunter who is even thinking about Sitka Gear, I say just try it. I purchased the Equinox jacket and pants. I sat for 1 hunt.

When I got home I sold all my other camo. There is nothing else like it.

Love this piece by Sitka. It is truly the "Puffy Jacket" as advertised, feels like the inside of a sleeping bag. Hunting in Central Texas the temps can change from 50 degrees to 21 and windy in one day. This jacket is great for that range. I purchased the Fanatic Vest to throw over the Celsius to deal with the wind and colder temps. Allows me to cut down on bulk and makes it easier to draw my bow.

Only issue with the jacket is the forearms are snug and made me go up a size. I am 6'4 and athletic build and wear an XL in most everything. I had to go up to XXL to fit my arms into sleeves. I couldn't wear this jacket as a mid layer, but throwing the vest over it allows me to make it without needing anything else.

Overall very comfortable jacket, I catch myself wearing it when I am not hunting.

It was 18 degrees with 10-15 mph winds out of the NE and 1-2 inches an hour snowfall this morning here on the Delmarva. That's as winter as it gets here, so I wore heavyweight core bottoms and top, a merino bottom and Traverse Zip T for mid layers, Fanatic Bibs, Celsius Jacket, and Fanatic Vest. Walking out to my stand location, I got about 300 yards and had to shed the Vest and Jacket. Way, way to hot to be walking around. Once at my tree, I stacked back up, ascended with my climber, and settled in. Cozy warm for 5 hours. Until today, I've been using the Celsius with the Jetstream Lite Vest since Thanksgiving and been fine. Today was the first time I deployed it with the Fanatic Vest. No doubt that this is my deep winter combo. Just crazy warm and comfy.

Just finished my final hunt of the Michigan season, and I found myself wearing the Celsius jacket as my outer since it bottomed out at 30 degrees. Couldn't have been happier with it keeping me warm and cutting the wind (not necessarily designed to cut the wind, but give it to Sitka to get it done anyway). Only wish there were additional inner pockets for when this jacket is being utilized as an outer.

Disclaimer: I am a member of the Sitka SWAT team, but feel the need to share my two cents on the Celsius jacket. Quite frankly, I love it. It doesn't have a lot of pockets so most will find it less than ideal for an outer layer, but worn under one of Sitka's many outstanding vests will solve that issue. I'm a traditional bowhunter and have worn it on the outside and also as insulation under another Sitka outer garment; either way, it is quiet and also layers very well without feeling bulky. The outer surface is kind of "slippery" which really helps as a layering garment. Trust me, you'll also find yourself wanting to wear this to work in the winter. P.S. Referencing Jordan's review--it is not a rainproof garment nor advertised as such. That kind of weather is covered by Sitka's raingear.

Perfect all season whitetail jacket as it works great alone or as a base layer. Wore it all season with no problems. Agree the forearms are tight but it does help keep the wind out.

It is a good jacket for what it is but I prefer vest as a bow hunter. For some reason they did away with the fanatic vest which had both windstopper and primaloft so I decided to go with this and a stratus vest. The problem with this jacket is that it is very tight on the arms. I am a big guy and former college athlete. I can't layer under it due to it being very tight around my wrist, forearms, biceps and shoulders. No way I can pull a bow with it. I will be selling it and just using my fanatic jacket when it gets really cold in Forrest 2 and keeping my fanatic vest in the more green Forrest pattern. (which as a bow hunter was perfect) I could wear the fanatic vest down into the 20's with an expedition weight merino and a traverse zip (which they also did away with).

Great jacket and very warm! Excellent for sitting in my tree stand or in the blind. My only complaint is the sleeves are narrow around the forearms. I am very athletic but at 6' and 245# I have a very hard time getting a XXL over anything but a very thin base layer due to the forearms. Its even hard to get over my watch and my release is almost impossible. I will likely try a different jacket for next season. However if you don't have Popeye forearms its a great choice.

I do not normally write reviews of the products I purchase but, after buying this new jacket, I felt like I had to give credit where credit is due. I now am outfitted with a complete Sitka system and this jacket was a welcomed addition. As soon as you put it on you can feel the difference. Its warm, quiet, its not binding (huge plus), you can layer under it for the earlier season sits and over it as the season heads into late November/early December. Moving through thick woods the material is silent unlike most of the junk you can buy out there. When you have to move to get into position for a close encounter (the case this year for me, New Hampshire 8 Pt)you don't have that crinkle noise you get out of other jackets, or the scraping noise as your back rubs against the tree. If you are one of those hunters that has been visiting the Sitka sight and building a system but haven't pulled the trigger yet, do it, you will not be disappointed. Thank you Sitka!

I've been looking at this jacket on Sitka's website since it came out and finally decided on getting it yesterday. I duck hunt and bow hunt a lot and was looking for a good insulating later that I could wear in the tree stand, as well as under my delta wading jacket when I duck hunt and this jacket seems like it is going to be perfect. I haven't had a chance to wear it due to the 100+ degree weather in Louisiana right now(and pretty much everywhere) but I like it so much already that I've been wearing it around the house. I know its going to keep me warm in the duck blind, as well as be very warm and quiet as an outer layer when I'm 30 feet up a tree this coming January. The jacket is different than I thought it would be by just looking at it online so I suggest going to look at it in person. But the biggest thing that got me was the price tag that comes with this warm piece of equipment, very reasonable and an all around great buy in my opinion. Good job Sitka!

In the deep winter freeze of the Alberta Bowzone, where late November temps can reach -40F, there are two considerations legendary whitetail outfitter and SITKA Athlete Jim Hole, Jr. prioritizes: keeping warm and completely silent to mimic the stealth and patience of an owl perched in a tree.
