Timberline pant

The pro pants are great for off season work in the brush. Strong material that holds up well. It is a bit loud that would be the biggest drawback.

Sizing is terrible.

32R and you could fit two people in these pants. Literally like parachute pants. They are also super loud.

DO NOT BUY THESE PANTS

DO NOT buy these pants. Switched this year to these, one for myself and one for my son. One hunt in unit 82 in CO and both pair have a tear in the lower leg, more of a puncture. Have been on 4 previous hunts with the Timberline Pant same unit no issues. Timberline Pro Pant does not hold up. Sitka will not repair them. They will not even send me the patches to repair them myself. They will repair for $100, I paid $350 per pair. Terrible stay away

Very good for a very specic use

Still trying to work out ideal use case for these. Decided to try them out for late season Alaska. Spent a week on Kodiak and we did not have terrible weather so I was in these most of the time. They’re really great if it is not raining or snowing hard. Not sure they would work well if it was a heavy precipitation day. They were not very comfortable unless I was wearing a thin base layer. The Gore-Tex does not have any backing on it to make it good for next to skin. Was really surprised. I liked having the built-in gaiters versus wearing the removable ones that I already had.

Could be better …. Pro ?

First off I own 3 pairs of timberline pants . 2 for hunting 1 in solid color for General duties ( gardening, renovations around house, ect) love them ! When I read about the pro with gore-tex in the seat and knees and built in gators I was stoked my favourite pant with upgrades. But what I got was not my favourite pant the fabrics were all different! The knees and seat have xtra fabric but it is not the original that I loved , it feels much thinner and cheap. The gore-tex is great but no backer at all so absolutely need a base layer. The gators work well but there is no Velcro to open them up along sides so getting them on and off through a tight elastic hole is difficult not to mention catching my tone nail on the lace hook . Now I had to get past the fact that they are not my old timberline and when I did they worked well. As above wore base layer and took my time getting my feet through the elastic hole and connected lace hook they performed well , I’m still not sold on new fabric on knees and seat but used them several times for upland, elk and moose hunting and no issues. If they had not used the timberline name I would not of had timberline expectations, so I use them and will continue to use them as above hopefully with some adjustments they can live up to the expectations of the name timberline

Used for upland pheasant hunting southwest PA

Fit is great, comfort is unmatched. Holds up great in thicket but thorns and jaggers still penetrate through the material. Only complaint I can come up with is I found a tick on my leg under the pants, the selling point to me (having Lyme disease) was the insect control layer at the bottom of the pants. Definitely helps but I was a little disappointed to find one. Otherwise amazing pants for upland hunting in more grassy areas and open wooded areas.

The pants are sick —

The pants are sick — probably the most durable hunting pants I’ve ever owned. They’re built for serious use and can handle anything the mountains throw at you. The only issue is the sizing. I’m 5'9", 170 lbs, and the 32s are too long and too wide in the waist. Unfortunately, there’s no smaller option. I get that I’m not a big guy, but I know plenty of hunters smaller than me — and these would be impossible for them. Sitka needs to understand that guides and mountain hunters tend to drop 10–15 lbs every season and need a tighter, athletic fit. I love these pants enough to make do with a tighter belt, but they really need to sort out the sizing.

I purchased these pants size

I purchased these pants size 36T in support of a South Dakota pheasant hunt. I could not have been more pleased with the performance of these pants. From briars to thickets and even barbed wire, they offered awesome protection.

New style dropped the ball!

I own a pair of Timberline pants and love them! Got to close to the fire drying them off and burnt one of the knees out. Extra pissed but it happens! Thought I'll try the new model and I'm very disappointed. They feel almost plastic, very loud when your walking. I guide for Mt Goats in BC and they are not warm when up above alpine. I wish I bought a second pair of the original.

Great water resistant pant - Like Having Gaitors on!

Love that water doesn't soak down my sock and intomy boot any longer now that I bought these. My feet stay dry all day and that's in PNW tropical rain storms (if you know, you know). Very very comfortable hunting all day in these - great venting for when we push up grades - LOVE that there is no rear pockets and all pockets are zippered. GREAT STUFF!

Loud!!!!

Well I have many Sitka pants shirts…. For me the original timberline pants are my favorite. These pants may be great to protect from weather but they are the loudest damn pants I have ever heard!!! I ordered them without ever seeing a pair let alone touching them. My mistake. I may use them for packing an animal out. Maybe hiking. Never ever would I hunt in these pants unless I knew the game I was after was deaf. To me disgrace to the timberline pants to use the name.

Pending

Originally, I thought these pants were the ugliest thing I'd ever seen. Once I got my hands on a pair, I decided the feel and features outweighed the looks. The solid color is pretty sharp looking. I wasn't able to find my size locally so I ordered from sitka. I'm pretty much always a 34 waist with sitka pants but ordered a 36 due to the rigid waistband on these. 36 was too big so they went back for a 34 and I'm not waiting for those to arrive.

Pants

Built like a tank but somehow still comfy enough to wear all day. The reinforced knees and seat handle brush, rock, and mud without a problem. They’re so rugged you feel like you could crawl through a cactus patch and come out fine. The price tag stings a little, but at least you won’t have to buy another pair for years—unless, of course, you’re hoping for an upgrade just to look cooler than your buddies at deer camp.

Great pant, just need more sizing options.

These pants are great but I have struggled lately with SITKA’s size options. I am 6ft tall, 165lbs (trim, muscular/athletic stature), and the 32R pant options are too large in the waist and often too short in length. A 30R is a good waist size but often too short. A 31R or 31L would be best.

Best pant I’ve used from Sitka

Have used these on multiple hunts now ranging from 70 degrees to sub 25 degrees in snow and rain. I have nothing but good things to say about the durability of these and the weather protection they provide.

Built in gaiters!

Super happy with this purchase, I’m lazy about wearing gaiters and often times regret not wearing them. These pants solved that problem for me.

Got tried on, fit good. Never came with knee pads really, if you are going to say it has gators where is the strap to go around the bottom of boot to stay on top. Got to wake up

Super tough pants.

These things are tough! They are definitely loud, but they are definitely meant for the roughest and toughest terrain out there. Tom will tell if they will hold up, but I believe they will!
