I am very pleased with this purchase. My initial concern — that the tool bucket design might lose contents if turned upside down — turned out to be a non-issue. While the top flap has a single loop closure, the sides zip from the back portion of the pack along the sidewalls, and an additional zipper on each side extends from the middle of the pack toward the top. With the main zippers closed, the top zippers secured, and the top flap fastened, contents stay firmly in place. Customer service clarified this for me, and contrary to what I had read online, my biggest concern is no longer a concern at all. I expect this pack to perform well in both walk-and-stalk hunts and sitting positions. As a bonus, it will also work great as a triathlon transition bag. It functions like a bucket — offering waterproof and windproof capability along with easy access when the flap opens. Overall, I am impressed with the product and extremely pleased with the customer service support. Keep up the great work, Sitka.

Perfect hunting backpack. And even a better tree stand pack. Plenty of room for all your gear and then some. I love how you can strap a bow or a gun with its versatile strapping design. Great job again Sitka.

I have used this pack on several hunting trips in Montana now. It works great both as a carry on and all its features are well thought through for the field.

Awesome product!

I used my tool bucket last deer season. It performed very well! Kept my gear organized and the pack is extremely quiet! I walk quite a ways to my hunting locations and I like how it carries my bow so I don’t have to keep it in my hands. As always another awesome product from Sitka!

Sitka tool bucket for saddle hunting

The bag is the perfect size for my needs. This will be my first year saddle hunting, so I’m experimenting with how I’m going to buckle it to the bag, but so far the two straps on the back have worked flawlessly for holding everything in place. I am also somebody who really likes organization , so this going to work out well for me having all the pockets to keep things in their place. The build quality of the backpack is what you would expect, very well put together.

My favorite backpack

I mostly deer hunt out of Box Stands with my kids, but this works perfect. It’s comfortable, big enough for my gear, and extra clothes and snacks for the kids. I hang it from a nail in my stand and keeps everything organized and out rig the way.

Used this all hunting season this year. Loved it. Worked out for all my gear and held my Camelbak water pack nicely. Built very well.

This is the best day pack I've ever owned.

This pack allows me to carry everything I need to hunt all day. Allows me to have everything I need to sit in a tree stand all day here in Texas or up in Kansas. The pockets allow me to keep everything I need separated and I can find it even in the dark. Best part is I can attach my bow and walk hands free to my stand. Don't hesitate on this one. I've used if for 4 bow seasons now and have zero regrets.

Slips off shoulders

It would be better if the top could zip all the way closed. I have laid the bag down and had items fall out many times. Also, the shoulder straps can slip off your shoulders. I would probably improve the score by 2 stars if the shoulder straps had some kind of grip to them.

Great storage compartments

Tons of compartments but still enough room to put my extra layers while I am hiking in. Comfortable and fits everything I need for a whitetail hunt!

Great design! I had the older model for years and did a lot of research trying to choose my next pack. I’m glad in landed on the top bucket again. The old model was great but Sitka was able to make some great improvements. I’m able to pack my saddle platform and sticks quickly and cinch them down tight for hiking in and out. Everything is well thought out. The pack helps you stay organized in the tree and it makes packing in and out your gear both quiet and efficient. Internal pockets are great and external straps make packing in gear and extra layers easy. Thanks guys!

Missing strap

Mesh pockets do rip easy like others mentioned. I had the older version also and with I had kept it! My main complaint is there is no hanging loop or strap when you open the pack. I treestand hunt mainly, and dont want a pack stretched 3 ft down a tree. I also don’t like hanging it with lid closed. If it had a strap on the inside, like the old version, you can open the lid and hang It and have full access to the inside

Quality Bag

The Tool Bucket back pack has been a great addition to my saddle setup. The internal pockets are great for easy access to essentials while hanging. My platform fits like a glove in the main compartment and still has plenty of storage for full everything you need during long days during the rut. The straps are durable and perfect for attaching my sticks. Sitka really thought through every every detail on this bag!

This is a great day-pack. Big enough to hold all your stuff for a long day in the tree and plenty of pockets to keep it all organized. It's comfortable to wear and the large opening to the main pocket makes it easy and silent to access. The exterior straps and attachment points are great, also.

I used this pack for saddle hunting and it has plenty of room for all my gear inside and straps on the outside for my bow or platform, and straps on the side for sticks. Plenty of pockets for organization. Excellent quality and durability you come to expect from Sitka.

Best bow hunting bag

This bag is the best bag I have ever used for hunting whitetails. Not only is is great for carrying gear into the field, but I have used it several times for packing deer out.

Great pack. Love all the pockets to keep my gear organized. Light weight and easy to carry. My only concern is that I had difficulty utilizing the pack when I hung it above me by the pack lid. I was worried that my gear would fall out of the main pack area/s if I zippered the two side zippers down when trying to access my gear in the main compartment. I will opt to have the pack lower, and to the side instead of directly above me when sitting or standing in my climber. Other than this issue it is a great archery pack when you are trying to keep your gear organized and to a minimum.

Needs improvement

Nice and roomy, but really needs a hip harness to keep it from shifting when loaded with gear.

Great Organization

The open concept of the bucket is awesome. My previous pack had too many pockets, and I could never remember which was which. The tool bucket allows organization within the bucket, but I can see where everything is at a glance. As is, it is the best tree stand pack I have tried but would love to see a version with a removable waist belt, and a hydration bladder option. It would then be suited for anything I could throw at it.
