Definitely not a waterfowl piece
This might work fine for sitting in a treestand, but it's not a waterfowl piece. The gradient hoody was perfect for that. I get that Sitka is trying to streamline their lineup to decrease overhead and increase profit, but they're streamlining themselves out of making good products. What is good for whitetails isn't going to be good for ducks. I started buying Sitka because of the products that were well thought out for the particular hunt they were made for. As someone who does something related to waterfowl hunting every day of the year, I appreciated the lineup Sitka once had. Now everything is just generic camo clothes that aren't any better than what everyone else sells for much cheaper.

Good jacket
Bought this as a handler jacket for training my dog. It’s white, stains come out easily and the fit is spot on. Really warm and comfortable. If I had to make any changes, would be nice if it wish the hood was a little bigger but it’s designed to be tight and a wind stopper. That’s just nit picking though. I’ll definitely order another one.

The Traverse Hoodie adds a great deal of warmth with just a base layer of merino. The hood provides a nice "microclimate" on your head to help with heat loss. The face cover is a perfect thickness to cover your face without feeling like you are being smothered and the elastic does a great job of keeping it in place.

This is more of a jacket than a hoodie. Although it’s designed to be a base layer, it’s too thick for that in my opinion. But, I’ve used it as a jacket and it works great. The outer shell is the quietest hunting fabric I’ve ever used. Perfect for bow hunting. The lining is thick enough to wear it in sub 30° temperatures with appropriate base layer(s). My only knock on it is the hood doesn’t shape to my head as well as my Heavyweight and Fanatic Hoodies…meaning, my head can turn inside the hood allowing the sides to block my vision. That’s the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars. But, I like it so much I own two of them!

Great full zip, warm jacket
I bought this one size up from my usual. I wear medium in all sitka, but wanted to be able to comfortably wear a long sleeve henley, a flannel, and a Dakota vest under this. I can also put this on top of of my Dakota hoody! I will order a medium for a good stand alone jacket. I feel one shirt under it will be great. This top does not stop wind, but it is very warm. The built in face mask is a nice touch to bust up the shine of your face in the blind or saddle.

I have been looking at purchasing the Traverse for a while now and after receiving it, I realized that I would need to layer it with a vest. For early season hunting it will do just fine. But the thin layer on the sides and inside of the arm are quite cool. The Duck Oven might have been a better option for later in the season.
