Have worn this jacket this past winter and loved every bit of it. Super thick and comfortable normally wear one layer under it and that's all you need. Love the muff pocket and place for the grunt call. Hands down best hunting jacket on the market for cold temps!
I purchased the Stratus Jacket and Bibs in the Cover pattern for hunting whitetails in North Alabama. I used this combination throughout the season by varying my under layers. In the warmest times, usually around 55 to 60 degrees, the combination was too warm. As soon as the temps dipped below 50 the Stratus set was great. I was comfortable all the way down to 20 degrees with wind in this set with heavy under layers. The cover pattern is great in North Alabama where there are always evergreens such as pines, magnolias, and cedars. I never noticed getting identified in a tree.
I find myself grabbing for this jacket more than any other in the closet. It is incredibly comfortable, warm, and well made. The windstopper fabric is no joke! It is impervious to wind yet still feels breathable and comfortable next to skin. I’m slim and the Large fits me snug but comfortable.
Quality product, my only immediate improvement might include more seamless feel along the arms. Feel like when I was layering the seam was very noticeable and semi annoying and rotating around.
This jacket is nuts. It's a great extra layer/ wind breaker when you're planning to do some walking in less than ideal weather, as it protects and breaths very well. However, it really shines in the when the sun don't. I wa son a hunting trip in Venice LA and on our way back from a solid morning (7 man), we were hit with a MASSIVE storm that had rolled right off the gulf. I've never experienced something so violent. For an hour we were assaulted by wind and rain as we made our run back to camp. However, once I was inside and took off the jacket. I was bone dry. I couldnt not recoomend this jacket more. . .
Probably the best flip-mitt or glomitt available, in terms of warmth. Thick insulation makes them warm enough for the real cold months. Toss in a hand warmer and you can stay comfortably warm for long periods. The drawbacks are in the design. The mitts are unreasonably tight across the knuckles, making the "flip" function difficult. Plus, the magnets are weak and useless at times. Also, the hand warmer pocket opening is right were you tuck your fingers when using the mitt, and once again makes the functionality kind of tricky. If they were to turn the hand warmer opening around, it wouldn't be a problem. Lastly, Sitka refuses to update the product photo for the flip-mitt. They continue to show the earlier model that was fleece with black leather. The current model is a poly type material with gray synthetic leather. False advertising on their part. Without question, I'd rather have the fleece and leather.
Purchased as a cold weather layer and absolutely love it. Not to heavy but hits that sweet spot. Very comfortable and great for everyday wear as well. Buy and you will not be disappointed!!
I honestly can’t say enough about how great this Duck Oven LT Hoodie is. Absolute game changer that was an amazing addition to my kit. Warm, comfortable and easy to pack. Great piece of gear!
Sitka makes the best gear on the planet for hunting and the Dew Point jacket is no exception. I have been wearing Sitka for years, and there is nothing out there like it. I even purchased their blanket and it's even amazing. Great job Sitka!
