My experience with this company it’s probably the best hands-down. These guys are awesome and if you happen to get the size wrong, they’ll make it right. No one else does that… great products. This one is pretty awesome.
I got to try it out as soon as I purchased it and this jacket kept me super dry out in the field. The pockets are amazing, I was able to bring everything I needed. This is an uninsulated shell so I recommend going up a size to give more space for layers (I usually wear large but got an XL)
Upgraded to the Crosscurrent Waders and have thoroughly enjoyed them. Extremely comfortable and the convertible system is so cool! When it’s hot just drop the top and it’s great! The only thing I would say is that they are a little bit stiff out of the package and can be challenging to put on for the first couple times!
Absolutely incredible! Great price point considering the quality and the fact that unlike most other wading boots it comes with a completely integrated traction system!
Perfect to throw on when doing chores outside! I'm a guide at a hunt club so I get a lot of blood on this thing when hunting and cleaning them. It wipes right off! Wind breaking technology is unbeatable!!!
I bought the Equinox Guard Hoodie and the Equinox Guard pants for shed antler and turkey hunting/photography in the spring, and dove and deer hunting/photography in the late summer and early fall. This hoodie is so soft, so cool, and doesn't stink after wearing and sweating into it for several days. So, I bought another one in a different color and now have two. Only negative I can find about it is that I just think it's way overpriced for what it is. So, I only buy them on sale. The only other thing I'd like is if the tails were longer, so I don't have plumber's butt when bending over. But other than that, I love this Equinox Guard hoodie and the Equinox Guard pants and Equinox Guard gloves. I've yet to get bitten by any bugs while wearing this outfit over the last year, and have yet to have a tick on me while wearing it.
I love about 90% of the features of this very expensive pair of pants. They're soft, quiet, and really do keep bugs and ticks off of me. I love that they're cool, sweat wicking, and don't stink after using them on multiple hot days without washing them. I have used them now for over a year, and really love most everything about them. There are some minor improvements, but for the most part I love them. I have one pair and actually just ordered two more pairs in different camouflage patterns. I just got in, and absolutely hated the Guard Pro and Guard LT pants, which I thought I would add to the clothing arsenal for hunting and photographing wildlife. But they were so bad, I returned them, and got two more pairs of the Equinox Guard pants to add to my pair I've had for a year.
The things I dislike about the Equinox Guard pants I've had for a year are that there's no rear pocket(s). I also don't like the angle of the two hand pockets for resting your hands/arms, or keeping your coins/change in. They are too steep of an angle up and down, and kinda cut into your wrist when you put your hands in there. They need to be more designed like the hand pockets of the Guard Pro and Guard LT pant pockets and need to be more horizontal than vertical. They also seem rather shallow inside the pockets, and I've had stuff fall out of my pockets of these pants when I was driving my truck or sitting on the ground waiting for a turkey or deer. I also don't like the zippered fly, which is too "shallow", and should go down probably an inch or two longer toward the crotch, as it is too hard to get to "stuff" and pee with it like it is.
But I love just about everything else about them. I just wish they had a lighter version of them, though they aren't too terribly warm for where I live in hot and humid South Texas. But for the most part, I really do love them. Even though I have some criticisms of them that I've listed above, and for those things that keep them from being perfect (for me), I should probably give them 4 stars. But I love what they do for me for the most part in hot/humid/buggy conditions, and that's why I gave them 5 stars.
Noisy Material. Not soft like Equinox Guard Pants.
What I Like: I like that there's a back pocket, which the Equinox Guard pants have that I own, don't have and have always wished they did. I was really looking forward to using the knee pads that you can add inside the pants, which I wish this was on the Sitka Equinox Guard pants. I also like the less steep angle of the pockets of the Pro Guard pants, which I feel is nearly straight up and down in the Equinox Guard pants that I have. I absolutely love the two-way zippers in the fly, but there's some improvement to be made with the zippered fly, which I'll talk about in the "Don't Likes" below.
What I Don't Like: The biggest dislike I had and immediate negative I noticed as soon as I pulled them out of the package was the material the Pro Guard pants are made of is very noisy when it's rubbed or when you're walking. Not a quiet, comfortable and soft material like my Equinox Guard pants that I own.
I also don't like the one drop-in pocket, and prefer the zippered pockets on the front of each thigh that I can put my individual right and left glove in, and know that I'll have the right glove in the right pocket and the left glove in the left pocket, when I'm trying to put them on in the dark. Plus, I don't have to worry about them falling out or getting pulled out by brush I'm walking through.
I also hate how short the zippers are in the fly of these pants, as well as in the Guard LT and the Equinox Guard pants. The zippers of all three should extend at least an inch further downward toward the crotch. Too hard to take a leak with these pants.
These are also tighter in the waist (even though I ordered a bigger size 40 instead of 38's in my Equinox Guards), and the thighs are tighter and don't allow you to kneel down nearly as easily. So these run small compared to the Equinox Guard pants. I layed them flat on my desk with the waist button closed, and laid their waist's on top of each other, and the 40 waist Guard Pro Pants and the Guard LT pants were only a 1/2" bigger than my 38 waist Equinox Guard pants.
I was thinking this Pro Guard pant was an upgrade of the Equinox Guard pant which is why I bought them, but they're far worse to me. Very disappointing, so I returned the two pairs I bought (Pro Guard and Guard LT pants) to add to my Equinox Guard pants (which I love), and bought two more pairs of Equinox Guard pants.
Incredibly Versatile Component of My Layering System.
This vest is as versatile in the field as it is on the town. Great looking and stylish for going out on the town and is a great outer layer in the cool weather and it takes my Hudson jacket to the extreme cold season in the blind and in the field.
Love the fabric the only thing that about these shorts is, if you don’t have big tree trunk legs, these shorts are way too wide. The leg opening is too big. I can fit both my legs inside the one pair so not for me.
If you are familiar with the waterfowl waders, they do not fit the same on the upper. Plan on one size bigger. I wear an XL in the Delta Pro GTX, and need an XXL in these. Material feels bomb proof, and still can't wait to get these exchanged out.
Definitely like the new color, once they are back in stock I plan to purchase them in a size down.
The only reason I purchased XXL is because that was all that was left
LOUD!! Very different product from the Equinox Guard pants. Those are soft, comfortable, silent, and have a better pocket layout. The Guard Pro pants are very loud, and they are tight/stiff in a way that is simply uncomfortable. No zipper on the 1 cargo pocket or the 1 back pocket, which are both open (no flaps). The Equinox pants are a zippered cargo pocket on each leg, and a separate knife pocket on the R. Their fault is they have no back pocket. Sitka hit a grand slam home run with the Equinox Guard hoodie and gloves, a 1 run home run with the Equinox Guard pants, but in my book struck out with these.
I picked up one of the 24/7 version of this hat and the oversized is an incredible fit. I’ve got a massive noggin, so really appreciate a Sitka hat I can rock that actually is comfortable. Would love to see more options on this size, especially a blaze orange!
So far the vest has been awesome! Not too bulky but not too thin. Does great in windy conditions and keeps the midsection warm. Love the pockets too!! Great purchase!
It keeps me so warm with just a t-shirt underneath. I ordered a size up so I could layer and be able to wear a hoodie underneath if needed too, and I'm so glad I did! The sleeves are actually long enough, being tall it's super hard to find. I love all the pockets I can stash all my 1st Phorm protein sticks & bars in!! Highly recommend this!!
