From balmy opening weekends to all-out blizzards, marsh waterfowl hunters see every condition under the sun over the course of a season. SITKA Waterfowl Marsh systems are built around carefully designed layering systems that give the hunter the ability to instantly adapt with comfort and mobility to stay in the field with confidence and concealment scientifically designed around the vision of descending ducks and geese, GORE™ OPTIFADE™ Concealment Waterfowl Marsh. And because we know how hard waterfowl hunting can be on gear, every product in the line is built to withstand many years of abuse.
The Mid-Season Marsh System is designed for maximum versatility as waves of birds start their migration south, winter weather following closely behind.
This system is built to deliver the essential components of performance and conditions-be-damned durability to keep waterfowl hunters warm, dry and concealed no matter what Mother Nature throws their way. We designed our gear to layer, with insulation and outerwear pieces to take you from cold, wet mornings to warm, sunny afternoons; clear skies to downpours; and from the field to the marsh up and down every flyway.
The Delta Wading Jacket was born and built for the seasonal extremes of waterfowl hunting. This shell is bomb-proof thanks to its 100% waterproof GORE-TEX® PRO 4-layer laminate face, making it extremely durable, abrasion resistant, more breathable and quicker drying. A DWR finish sheds rain and won’t wet-out.
Finding a shell that could meet the technical needs of a full season of waterfowl hunting was damn-near impossible. So, we set out to create one. We utilized GORE-TEX® PRO 4-layer laminate face fabric for its added durability to withstand abrasion in unforgiving environments.
The GORE-TEX® PRO plus a DWR finish make this a 100% waterproof jacket. The jacket is cut intentionally short to wear with waders in high water conditions, and water-sealing cuffs with a velcro gasket seal out water and precipitation.
The Women’s Mid-Season Marsh system is designed for maximum versatility as waves of birds start their migration south, winter weather following closely behind.
This system is built to deliver the essential components of performance, comfort and conditions-be-damned durability to keep waterfowl hunters warm, dry and concealed no matter what Mother Nature throws their way. We designed the pieces to fit women’s bodies and layer easily, with insulation and outerwear gear to take you from cold, wet mornings to warm, sunny afternoons; clear skies to downpours; and from the field to the marsh up and down every flyway.
While better known for big game hunting, New Zealand offers some great waterfowl opportunities, including several indigenous species sure to intrigue avid bird collectors looking for a new adventure.
Endemic species hunted in New Zealand are Paradise Shelducks, Pacific Blackducks, and Australian Shovelers. Black Swans, Mallards, and Canada Geese make up the majority of bag limits. What separates New Zealand waterfowl hunting is the sedentary nature of the birds. Unlike other migratory waterfowl species, New Zealand waterfowl do not range outside the small country. This can provide unique challenges. Birds become stale more often, and hunting pressure has a much larger impact throughout the course of a season.
