Event Name: Duck Decoy Carving Demonstration with Pat Gregory

Join us at SITKA Vernon Hills for an event you won’t want to miss! Master carver Pat Gregory will be in-store carving a duck decoy live from 11 AM–3 PM. Pat Gregory grew up in Joliet, Illinois. He is the great-grandson of famed Illinois River decoy maker George “Homerun” Barto, who began carving duck and goose decoys in the late 1890s. Barto himself was influenced by legendary carvers Robert Elliston, Bert Graves, and Charles Perdew.

Event Name: Cooking In The Duck Blind with Wisconsin Waterfowl Association

Join us and our neighbors from the North for an in-the-field cooking demonstration! The Wisconsin Waterfowl Association is bringing wild game chef and hunter Zach Heredia for a live demonstration and tasting of two different meals you can make right in the duck blind, on the boat, or back at camp. This will be an interactive event featuring great food, practical cooking tips, and plenty of opportunity to learn from an experienced wild game chef. Bring your family, bring your friends or even bring your dog. Come for the food and stay for the stories. This event is free to the public, Complimentary beverages will be available, and all attendees will receive an entry into our free gear raffle. We look forward to seeing you there!
