These were destroyed in one day of fishing. Straps from a pair of Hudson bibs rubbed the the shoulder material away.

Great Jacket

Bought the regular Ambient in E2 for deer season and loved it. Ended up buying the Ambient 100 hooded jacket in black for everyday, and love it just as much. Crazy how warm they are without being bulky or heavy. One of my favorite pieces of Sitka gear. Does run a little on the small side even for Sitka. Ordered a large in both.

Best jacket I own. I run it paddling out to duck hunt, it’s perfect for taking the chill off and still dumping body heat when needed. It’s not wind proof so once I cool down I throw a shell over it and am comfortable in the 30s. I also use it for deer hunting whitetail and sika deer. The warmth to weight ratio is fantastic. This is always in my pack. I even use it for hikes. The full zip makes it so easy to take on and off.

This jacket keeps you warm in the cold but does an excellent job of keeping you cool when your body temperature gets up. I wear my black XLT to aork but also makes an excellent mid-layer to my hunting regiment. Thanks Sitka for producing the best products for us outdoor enthusiasts and us professional guides!

Lightweight and warm

Loving the ambient 100 so far. The only improvement I would make is strengthening the outer fabric. It catches and rips small holes pretty easily, so I wouldn’t wear it as my top layer while bushwhacking or on a stalk.

Most comfortable jacket ever! Very warm especially when layering. Great for hunting as a mid-layer and great outer layer for every day. Exterior of jacket is very susceptible to tics and tears. I knew that going in so that was to be expected. That is the only reason I would hesitate to wear as outer layer when hunting in briars or thickets. Size is just like all other Sitka clothing, just a tad snugger than most. So, if you are barely fitting into a size or want a little extra room, order up one. I expect I will be buying another one in a different color soon!

Just right for Late Season Hunt

I got this for the recently cold GA mornings on the tail end of deer season and it was perfect! Very quiet and not bulky for use with my crossbow.

Very good piece of gear

This is an excellent hoody, light, warm, and comfortable. However...I have to say that I like the Traverse better. It is just as warm, has a full zip, several pockets, a face mask, and the sleeves extend in to half gloves. I think the Travers is better at shedding light precipitation.

Very very warm, fabric does get caught easily and there are pulls from getting caught one stuff. That would be my only gripe.

Can’t beat this jacket

This jacket is super versatile and I haven’t found a situation where it didn’t excel. I used it through the late archery deer season in the upper Midwest. A standalone outer layer while hiking in to my tree stand or spot and stalk, it worked great and moderated my temperature. Very breathable, but holds in enough heat to keep you warm. When in the tree stand I would usually throw my stratus vest or fanatic vest over the top, depending on the wind and temperature, but this ended up being one of my primary pieces this late season. I love all the ambient collection but this jacket has a full zip with hood and front pockets, pretty much combines all the features some of the other models are missing. Avoid the thorns and briars; it is durable but will succumb to a sharp snag. Turned into my winter hiking jacket as well because of the warmth and breathability.

My Ambient 100 Hooded Jacket is perfect for early to mid-season outer layer. This jacket is remarkably comfortable, quiet and wind/moisture resistant. I love it and wear it often.

Disappointing

After eyeing the ambient collection for a while, I was excited when they released this full-zip hoody. After wearing it outdoors a few times, I don't think the material performs that much better than a much cheaper grid fleece. But the real issue is the fit- for some reason, the torso is cut short in front, and with the elastic hem the jacket constantly rides up during any active movement. For gear that's supposed to move with you, this is a design flaw, and at $300 every detail should be dialed. Maybe a tall would've worked better, but they don't offer that in my size.

Great Product!

Love the jacket. It is a little tough to get on and off due to lack of stretch in the waistline of the jacket, but otherwise it is extremely comfortable and warm.

AMBIENT Hooded Jacket rocks

I bought this item after seeing the ambient jacket without hood and the hoodie didnt have pockets and was pull over. This Item solved both issues and my love of the berber. HOLLA. I love this as jacket i walk in and out of woods with very warm but insulates great under other jackets.

For mid season bow hunting the Ambient 100 jacket is warm and wind proof. It is made of durable and silent material for those close in shoots. Like all Sitka gear it is true to size.

Love this jacket. Used it

Love this jacket. Used it on late season archery elk hunt the first 2 weeks in december. Steep and wet westen wa. Weather. Temps from 30 degrees to 60. It breathed when hiking up, kept me warm while glassing. Surprisingly quiet when i was making stalks. Even did well under my rain jacket while storming. It performed so well the other 4 guys in camp all order 1 before we left. Love this jacket!!!

Great layering piece; Mid-layer is the best bet for this. Cut a bit shorter than I prefer it but very light and surprisingly warm.

Great for what it’s for

I have worn this as an active layer a few times now. Starting in the mornings before dawn, in the high 20’s-30’s. I can hike just fine staying perfectly warm and comfortable without overheating until the afternoon 70’s. If I sweat a bit the moisture wicks right through it. If you see some thick brush coming along you’re going to want to be careful, it’s durable for how lightweight it is but I’ve pulled a few threads out already. It’s not made to bust brush so don’t try it. I am 5’7” and weigh 170, the size large fits me great.

I never write product reviews "EVER!". But I have to on how impressed i am and it definitely well over exceed my expectations! i will now say I am proud Sitka Fan and forever customer. The Ambient Jacket (Black) in a large. This is my first ever Sitka Gear I bought. I will definitely say Sitka made a name for themselves heard great things and wanted to see what the hype was, and when people say they love their Sitka gear and how great it is I see why now. I'm in Law Enforcement and I also just got into hunting this year. So I was looking for gear and I've been looking for better cold weather gear. Been a big underarmour fan got tons of cold gear etc you name it. Including their hunting gear, well it really doesn't cut it anymore, it doesn't keep you as warm. Your still cold and quality isnt there. But I tested this out on my shift in 32 degree weather with 5-10mph winds. I had this under my uniform between my uniform shirt and ballistic vest as a mid layer it was not bulky at all. You couldn't tell i had this on underneath. It's so light and comfortable and its so warm, I fell in love with it, i forgot I was wearing it! I was out of my patrol car and on foot for awhile I didnt need my junky dept. outer jacket which is heavy and bulky cumbersome and isn't really warm at all I just hate wearing it, its doodoo. but the Ambient kept me warm and cozy and when in my car i actually got hot to where i had to open the windows and turn the heat down or off. if your worried about price. This product is worth it! Sitka made an amazing and outstanding product and is worth every penny. I will continue to buy the Ambient jacket and I hope Sitka keeps this product line going. You will not expect how awesome this jacket is when you pick it up for the first time cause its thin and the feel. I don't know how to describe it, its just a different feel to it, ive never had anything like it so i cant give an example but it was made with love lol. But Its definitely high quality and can see lasting me a long time Its so light weight, soft and warm and just feels amazing wearing it. Its nice and stylish and can be used for everyday life, from running errands, hanging with friends to hunting, camping, Mid layer etc. what ever you can think of its now my goto. its definitely worth the money and it's money well spent. So glad I got the Ambient hoody jacket and definitely will be buying another one when I get paid and will be getting more sitka gear. I just love this thing Might not take it off lol. I was skeptical at first because of price and never bought Sitka gear before so i didn't know what i was getting. but I pulled the trigger and grabbed it, which was the best decision i made so JUST BUY IT! You will not be disappointed at all! I would love to see this in a ranger green color as well.
