Great Active Insulation

This jacket has a wide temperature range. So far it has been great in temps in the 40’s to 60’s. I will definitely put it to the test next week on a backcountry backpack hunt in CO.

Ambient 100

I got the XL and am 6’2” and like it better than the XLT since the arms would be too long and bunch up. Not a bad jacket but it is cut too short in the front waist so every time I draw my bow or raise a rifle get a cold draft up my shirt. Otherwise it fits true to size and is a nice layering piece.

I talked with many people saying it was a great piece. Works great under layers but the outside material is pretty tough. I don’t really worry about it getting ripped up.

Good Jacket - runs small

Im 6’0 195lbs. Athletic build. Usually I wear XL shirt and Large jackets/coats. I ordered this in Large and the thing is damn near skin tight. Kind of annoyed about it. Other than the fact it runs small, it’s a good jacket. Reasonably warm and very quiet which I like.

Lite and warm!

This comfortable coat is life and surprisingly warm. Easy piece to have with you to throw on for a little more insulation. Works well as a technical piece, but also a great everyday piece. Wear mine all the time

I normally wear a an xl in all of my sitka gear tops and I lost some weight and I bought this in a large and the sleeves were about 5 inches too long for me and I had a little more room than expected so I returned for a medium but other than the fit it seems like a good product I had the same issue with the sleeves being way too long on my equinox guard hoody in a large I haven’t had any issues with this on any of my other sitka products just these two have super long sleeves for some reason

Best line collection of jackets in my opinion. I start using this jacket in September and throughout winter depending on conditions. My go to jacket and I have a 3!

I have the hooded pullover and absolutely love it. Only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because they don’t make it in purity or grey anymore and I wanted to get a second one.

Awesome jacket. Exactly what I was looking for, for an everyday jacket. Will also use as a layer under my stratus jacket paired with fanatic hoody. Should keep me warm.

Great piece, I was trying

Great piece, I was trying to find something less but equal to the kelvin aerolite. Sometime I would not shed when I started walking again. The ambient is going to do that job!

Favorite line

If you haven’t purchased from the ambient lineup yet, you need to. By far my favorite jacket to throw on for quick trips to town and as a base layer on long hunts. The insulation is light, but effective, almost fleece like. I am 6’ 195lbs and the LT fits me perfect.

Ambient 100

Absolutely amazing. Sitka time and time again is worth the money. It is breathable yet warm. Definitely going to keep the wind off. Plus it just looks amazing.

Perfect weight!

Perfect weight for fall and will layer nicely to add warmth in the later season while not sweating me out. Went with black so I can use it for everyday wear. I’m went with a large and it fits more like a medium-large. Slightly more snug than sitka’s other large jackets, but that makes sense for layering. If you’re in between, size up.

It does it all

This jacket in black color is going to be perfect for hunting in blinds on cooler days. Also bought it for hiking to help keep me cool but also very breathable.

Amazing active mid layer!

Love this jacket, its super light and packable. I used this jacket all turkey season and on a 12 day spring bear hunt and when used as a active mid layer or outer jacket on quick hikes its wonderful. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a lightweight warm mid layer jacket they can leave on during shorter quick hikes and glassing sessions. Don't expect this to replace your puffy jacket but as ultra light fleece layer its perfect.

Best jacket I’ve ever worn

Does an excellent job of insulating without getting uncomfortably hot once you start hiking hard or the temperatures start rising. This is probably my favorite clothing purchase of all time, it’s just unbelievably comfortable. I originally got one for hunting but I liked it so much I got a second just for daily wear. Also, as a taller individual, the LT is the perfect size.

The perfect active base layer.

This layer is absolutely perfect for start stop hunts or active endeavors. I love that you can get some moving in and long stationary sits from the same piece. I use it skiing resort/ski touring and don’t feel the need to wear any types of layers anymore. One disadvantage is your gonna be wearing this thing everyday around the house so you will have to purchase other colors or patterns. This is costly but you will find ways to articulate why you need it so no worries.

This has become my favorite

This has become my favorite piece of clothing. So far have used it spring bear hunting, hiking, and salmon fishing. It has performed exceptionally well in all conditions. Holds warmth when stationary, breaths and wicks moisture when active and drys extremely fast. Can’t comment on long term durability but so far it is holding up well.

Perfect layer

I just got this and used it fishing on Erie this spring. Very comfortable, surprisingly warm for how thin and light it is. Very breathable as well. I can see this becoming a go to insulation layer.

Cozy Active Insulation

I am 5’11” and 195 lbs. I am a big fan of Primaloft, and this new sherpa-esque insulation is really nice to wear. It has been great for everyday wear, but I recently took it out on a scouting trip to test how it worked under rigorous hiking and cooler weather with a chance of rain. I had a synthetic baselayer and Mountain Evo Jacket for the ascent. The Mountain Jacket performed very well, although I was very surprised at how wet my back was when I removed my backpack and put on the Ambient 100 for when I was glassing. I now had a baselayer, Ambient, Mountain Evo Jacket, and it started raining lightly. I was at a perfect temperature, and the moisture on my back seemed unbothered when the Ambient 100 came in contact with my shirt. The temps dropped, and the layer system did really well as I hiked further up the mountain. I didn’t get too hot or sweaty and felt very comfortable in the low 40s. As we hit 8800 ft, it began to snow, and I put my Dew Point Jacket on. Now, I had a layering system of baselayer, Ambient 100, Mountain Jacket, and Dew Point Jacket. It all fit very well and didn't feel bulky or constrictive. Temps were now wet and cold; low 30s with a bit of wind. Hiking downhill was a win, and I never felt overheated or wet. Final thoughts—Ambient 100, Black (Size Large): I truly love it. I wish the male part of the zipper was a little larger. Sometimes, it is hard to get it engaged. This is a minor issue, but the jacket is supreme. I wonder if there needs to be some sort of stitching on the jacket, as the Riptstop face feels like it is floating away from the Primaloft. It probably enhances breathing. Mountain Evo Jacket, Subalpine, and Deep Lichen (Size Large Tall): The arm lengths are different on both jackets. My subalpine is too long, and a simple sleeve roll-up is a perfect fit. I wish the Deep Lichen color were the same as my Dew Point Jacket. The Mountain Jacket has a bit more yellow, while the Dew Point has more black. The fit is great, the performance on the back is awesome, and the windproof technology was a win for me. This pairs very well with my kit. The hood could have a little more reach, but I have a longer neck, so it didn't fit perfectly, but it was satisfactory for me. Dew Point Jacket, Deep Lichen (Size Large Tall): Amazing jacket. I have had my run-through rain jackets, and this jacket is very nice. I love the color, the performance and the ability to keep me dry. I have tested this in some serious rain and even some snow. One critique is that the zipper at the top by sternum catches on an inner flap, but other than that, this is a stellar piece of gear for my kit. I also love the deep pockets that work well with my backpack.
