Exceeds expectations

When I first looked in to Sitka, The price tags was concerning. I found my self wondering why on earth someone would pay that much for camo. When I unboxed it (even though knowing that it’s a layering system) I thought the material was thin, and was concerned about its durability. I went on a Colorado Elk hunt this past week, and absolutely abused this gear, put it through its paces, and I have to say, I have never been more impressed. The average temp this week has been around the 20° mark, while being colder in the mornings, with up to a foot of snow in some of the draws. Never once did I stop and think that I was freezing, or was I conceded that I was going to rip this gear on a tree branch, or I was going to split a seam while crouching. All and all the Sitka system has impressed me, and exceeded any expectations I could have set for it. 10/10 recommended.

Perfect Mid Layer

Perfect mid layer. Combined with core lightweight hoodie, mountain evo jacket, and hyper down jacket has kept me comfortable from low 20s to high 80s this season. It’s surprisingly warm though, I generally don’t need the down unless it’s below 40F.

Ambient Hoodie Durability

I purchased this and was originally very pleased. I wore it daily under my grindstone jacket and the combination was extremely warm and durable. Using this product further I was seeing early signs of unusual wear and tear. I wore the Hudson bib over the hoodie and was dismayed when I saw the front material tearing apart and pilling beyond repair. When notifying customer service they told me to wash the hoodie and it would go away, this did not help at all. I eventually returned the hoodie to my local sheets and was sad I had to get rid of the product.

The Ambient 100 Hoodie combined with Sitka's Light Weight Core Base Layer provided me with outstanding moisture wicking during my last hunt. It is a great system for on the move hunting, stalking, etc...

Love the fit and feel. Surprisingly warm and quiet. Could be used as an outer but I would be careful not to wear it through brush.

Perfect for scouting but I wouldn't recommend using for brushing in the blinds or any hiking trips in the woods it rip's pretty easily and fits a bit big otherwise it's a decent jacket (hoodie)

Impressively versatile!

I find myself wearing this jacket in a variety of temperatures. I usually wear it in the saddle as in outer garment in temperatures down to about 40 and then use it as a mid layer when temperatures get cold. What an amazing piece by Sitka. My only concern is its durability when walking through the woods. I am reluctant to wear it outside of the stand because it seems like it would get caught and torn easily by brush and briars. This has not been tested nor proven, I just don’t want to chance ruining my jacket. Either way, it’s a great piece of gear.

Good mid layer piece that is light and quiet. The fit was good. The material was very thin but kept me warm. It’s good for low 50’s in the early morning and evenings. temperatures dropped, I was able to layer over it with the traverse hoodie or jet stream jacket. Highly recommended if you want an active mid layers piece.

This is one of the most comfortable jackets you’ll ever put on. I do have one issue with the sizing. I went with an extra large because I wanted to be able to wear it as a daily jacket but also a mid layer. There’s an elastic band at the bottom of the jacket that is just too tight to wear as a daily jacket Because it causes it to ride up on you. If you strictly wear it as a mid layer, it may not be an issue. I ended up going with a extra large, but the arms are a little large for me. It’s not too bad and it’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make in order to have the body of the coat loose enough to wear as a daily jacket. Just for reference on sizing, I’m 6 foot 215 pounds with about a 34 to 36 inch waist. One other issue that still remains to be seen is it’s a very soft light material and I’m concerned it won’t hold up well especially if you decide to wear it as an outer layer. I would not wear this walking through or rubbing up against brush. when it comes to heavy use, it will be strictly a mid layer underneath some tougher outer layers.

The Perfect Hunting Jacket!

I bought this for my boyfriend who is a huge whitetail hunter. He wanted a medium weight set and this paired with the traverse bibs was perfect for him. It's really comfortable and warm. It's easy to layer other items with. If you're going to buy anything from Sitka, I think this is the perfect basic to have all season!

This jacket is amazing. I bought it before we left for Montana on our elk hunting trip, and I'm so glad I did. It is light weight, very comfortable, and it kept me warm during the crisp early morning part of the hunt. As the day went on and it got warmer, it was easy to fold up and fit into my pack. Five stars and have already been recommending it to anyone looking for something along the lines of what this jacket has to offer.

True to size but is a snug fit but I think that’s how it was designed. None the less super light weight, super packable, yet pretty warm. Sharp looking too

Breathable but still warm on

Breathable but still warm on brisk mornings. Also like the addition of hand pockets. Prefer the pull over quarter zip to the full zip up.

Warm and light weight

Kept me warm on the four wheeler going up the mountain in the morning, no need for the heavy jacket.

Great Active Insulation

This jacket has a wide temperature range. So far it has been great in temps in the 40’s to 60’s. I will definitely put it to the test next week on a backcountry backpack hunt in CO.

I got the XL and am 6’2” and like it better than the XLT since the arms would be too long and bunch up. Not a bad jacket but it is cut too short in the front waist so every time I draw my bow or raise a rifle get a cold draft up my shirt. Otherwise it fits true to size and is a nice layering piece.

I talked with many people saying it was a great piece. Works great under layers but the outside material is pretty tough. I don’t really worry about it getting ripped up.

Good Jacket - runs small

Im 6’0 195lbs. Athletic build. Usually I wear XL shirt and Large jackets/coats. I ordered this in Large and the thing is damn near skin tight. Kind of annoyed about it. Other than the fact it runs small, it’s a good jacket. Reasonably warm and very quiet which I like.

Lite and warm!

This comfortable coat is life and surprisingly warm. Easy piece to have with you to throw on for a little more insulation. Works well as a technical piece, but also a great everyday piece. Wear mine all the time

I normally wear a an xl in all of my sitka gear tops and I lost some weight and I bought this in a large and the sleeves were about 5 inches too long for me and I had a little more room than expected so I returned for a medium but other than the fit it seems like a good product I had the same issue with the sleeves being way too long on my equinox guard hoody in a large I haven’t had any issues with this on any of my other sitka products just these two have super long sleeves for some reason

Best line collection of jackets in my opinion. I start using this jacket in September and throughout winter depending on conditions. My go to jacket and I have a 3!
