I have worn these as a base layer with my incinerator bibs and have been very happy. The piece breaths good and is very comfortable. I would buy again.

After a season of use I can now say these are the lightest and warmest bottoms I've ever worn. I had these on during the first rifle season in Colorado 2018 when temps dipped below zero snow piled up past two feet and the wind blew a bit not at any point did I get cold. Excellent piece of equipment and I would highly recommend these. I have also used for deer hunts when I sat still for hours without feeling the chill at all. They show no signs of wear and tear even after being worn all season and washed several times.

I have not used it in the field yet, but here are my initial thoughts. As far as the quality of material and construction I am impressed. The little bit that I have worn them around the house, they are warm; however as far as fit, I am a little disappointed. The legs are too long. The inseam is stated as 31 inches (for the M) I wear 34 inch pants but these are as long as my pants and leave a pile of fabric around the ankles. If the extra fabric is around your ankles then the fit is good on my calves. If I pull it up to where the cuff stops on my ankles like it is supposed to, then it is compression tight on my calves. The fit on the thighs is very baggy and the waste is just right. I dont think any one under 5 foot 10 would want to wear these.

Now that the 2017 season is over and I feel I’ve tested this particular item in a multitude of weather conditions, I felt very compelled to write a review of this product. These bottoms blew away my expectations. From all-day sits to just walking into stand, I never felt cold once. And just for reference, I hunt in NY and CT where the season started in the 70’s and ended this past week well below 0 with the windchill. Even when I would be sweating from the walk to my stand, these bottoms quickly wicked away that moisture and I was fine. I couldn’t believe how effective they were. I could never really afford top of the line gear growing up and would end up wearing 5 pairs of pants to just barely stay warm but I finally decided to make an investment and it was well worth it, you can’t go wrong with these bottoms. Would recommend to anyone and will be a lifelong customer.

The core heavy weight base layer is a must have in extremely cold weather! If you are stand hunting or blind hunting this layer combined with the right outer layer will let you do all day sets! And be very comfortable! If you are doing spot and stalks in very cold weather you will burn up! You only want to wear this if you are sitting still! Love it

This product is out of this world. I do some big game hunting but I primarily wear this waterfowl hunting. I hike about 2 miles into my hole and so I need something that will breathe then dry and then keep me warm after I start sitting down in the blind all day. I have tried a ridiculous number of base layers and until this one none could perform exactly like I wanted. These wick away the moisture like no product I've ever used. After hauling a 50 pound pack with all my waterfowl gear you can imagine I sweat a lot. Unlike other products once I sit down in the blind these baby's are already almost completely dry, which makes for a much more comfortable day in the blind. I have loved all my Sitka products but in terms of a peice unmatched in performance to any other company I'd have to say this base layer might be the the piece. In addition I've worn it quite a few times already and have not washed it and it doesn't smell bad. Well done Sitka.

Match this with the core heavyweight top, and you will experience the best of both worlds. Again if you hunt cold weather, this is another must have next to skin layer that not only warm, but very comfortable to wear. After several seasons of wearing, hands down the best next to skin layer period.

I'm not one to write reviews but after all the research I did and reviews read by others, I felt I needed to share my experience with Sitka. ! Conditions were 22 degrees, 15-20 mph wind and snow in the mountains of NY. I spent an entire week in these conditions and have never been so warm! I simply followed the layering system, and wow! This set up was perfect! Thank you Sitka! The bottoms kept me warm and wicked away the moisture I generated pulling my deer out of the woods!

These are a great base layer. The waffle on the inside really traps the heat. The material is also superior at wicking and drying. Great job Sitka! For Pa whitetail season this is going to be a game changer.

The weight of this fabric is nice for colder weather. They seem more comfortable and warmer to me than my old Traverse bottoms. Wick real well. Really like the fit on them. I believe I can get rid of my UA base layers now. Purchased this in the Pyrite color since I never saw a need for camo long underwear. Really like this color.

I never have any issues with my Sitka gear and that says alot! However that being said, my decisions getting dressed sometimes lack that extra thought. These pants are EXTREMELY warm, they are a great piece of gear, keeping you warm, wicking away sweat and KEEPING YOU WARM, did I say they really keep you warm. For me the temps have to drop below 25 to comfortably wear these on a active hunt and about 30 for a standing/sitting hunt. The funcitionality is top notch and is the best base layer for the extremely cold mornings. Only adive is if you 'run a little hot' this base layer is best below 30 degrees. Great Gear!

I had a very good chance to use these bottoms over the last few days. We had a good cold front move through Michigan for the opening weekend of archery and the temps were in the high 30s in the morning and high 40s-low 50s during the day. The wind was a steady 15-20mph and gusts up to 30. I paired these heavy weight bottoms up with my timberline pants and I was very impressed. They are somewhat wind resistant but they offer a load of warth. they wick moisture extremely well and dry out super quick. I can definitely see these are going to be perfect once the mercury drops even more and I can use the merino bottoms under the heavyweight. The polygiene works very well, wore them for 6 days straight and they still have no stink to them. sitkas baselayer system is second to none and these heavyweights are a must for any hunter who is going to be out in the late season. Thanks again Sitka for another amazing product.
