My favorite piece

Out of all the pieces I own, this is my favorite. Keeps you concealed and cool when hunting September spot and stalk antelope / mule deer out west. The built in face mask is comfortable. I wear this all year round.

Great hoodie for any hunt

As a big guy that is using hunting as a way to lose weight it has been nice to have a clothing system that not only fit me but was very effective at helping me reach my goals. This hoodie has been great as a stand alone layer for my early season whitetail pursuits and as the weather turned colder it has worked great as a base layer to wick away moisture so my active insulating layer and outer layer could more effectively keep me warm. My only issue was that the torso length could be a little longer.

I like having this as a light base layer. I’ll usually walk around in this and be fine. Even when it’s cold out. When I stop moving, I’ll toss another layer on.

The Best Hunting Gear On The Market

This hoodie is perfect for all weather. This season I have used it in Montana in -6 degrees putting out full bodies. I also wore it in Arizona in 75 degrees chasing ducks. This is my second one!

Great idea, but fragile as a flower

This is a great, lightweight hoody and definitely a piece that serves a purpose, but I expected more out of the product. Much like my other core lightweight gear, the fabric is not durable at all. I thought maybe my other core gear was faulty, but this hoody had the same issues. Within a 48hr period, the face fabric had several pulled threads and was starting to show signs of pilling. For reference, I wore the sweater on a backyard camping trip, so nothing crazy. Primarily, we were training dogs, hitting some balls, and jamming around the campfire. It was in tents, but nothing we did was intense, haha! Since then, I have decided to wear this for duck banding in the summer and the shirt now looks like a cat scratch pole. If you’re looking for something that never sees the light of day and is strictly worn as a lightweight base layer, this will work. If you’re expecting something that can be worn as a lightweight outer, and you’re concerned with the garments appearance (i.e., looking presentable), I would consider alternatives. Overall, the hoody serves its purpose, but will snag and pull on just about anything it touches. BEWARE of Velcro!

This is a must have for an outer layer. Use it for early season bow hunting or colder days with layers underneath.

Never go hunting with out it.

I wear this piece the most hands down. Stand alone in the early season and always a layer when it comes to the later months. And then grab a solid one to wear all the time.

Another great product

This is my third core hoodie from Sitka. I now own two lightweight, first one camo now Brown. Also have the heavyweight in camo. I wear this as a liner and also as a standalone shirt, love it.

Very impressed

When I first opened the package I saw a flimsy shirt, that weighed almost nothing and I couldn’t believe I paid what I did for it. After testing it out on an upland hunt I realized I couldn’t be more wrong. I busted some serious brush with this shirt, dead junipers and manzanitas in California are sharp and thick. The material didn’t even fray, I had to crawl into some bushes to retrieve quail (didn’t have a dog), and not a thread came loose on it. As I sweat the moisture broke right through and cooled me off, no more than 10 minutes standing still and I was bone dry. At the end of the day it cooled off pretty well so I threw on the ambient 100 jacket over it, BOOM instant warmth and my sweat wicked through both layers and I was dry in 10 minutes. I have to say Sitka gear looks cheeses out of the box because of how lightweight everything is, but looks can be deceiving these clothes are tougher than they look! Will be recommending to my buddies. Thanks.

Lightweight Hoodie

I have worn the lightweight hoody all bow season as a top layer for early October, and now wearing it as a base layer for late October and early November. It gives that total upper body concealment and is very breathable. It's also lovely to wear it out and about, showing that diversity. Overall, I'm super happy with it so far. It's the first season!

Comfortable but somewhat fragile

Super comfortable and extremely light. Great to wear in warm temps as a standalone, BUT do not let it rub onto branches or anything even resembling a sticker because it rips it to shreds, or should I say threads.

Many pulls first time wearing it

Fit good and looks great but first day I wore it while boating it had 4 pulls. I could understand if I was in the woods but not while boating.

Very light weight

I like the light weight (with a hood) for cool mornings when I'm walking to my stand in the morning. It's just enough to keep the cold at bay without bulk while sneaking to my stand in the dark. Just what I was looking for. Top quality too.

Great piece, could be better

This fits extremely well and it dries extremely fast. I don’t think the Polygiene works at all. I use it for one day and it already stinks. I know synthetics typically smell more than merino, but still. Overall I like it a lot, and will continue to use it

Skeptical but love it

Was skeptical when I first got this in the mail. Somewhat of a jersey material and super lightweight, I wasn't sure it was worth the high price. Five days of continuous wear in the elk woods later and this is one of my new favorite clothing pieces. Incredibly comfortable, no chafing under the hip belt with a loaded or unloaded backpack, no stink (seriously, after 5 days), and incredible heat/moisture management. I'm not a brand loyalist by any means, but I do find more and more Sitka gear ending up in my closet because all of their stuff is so dang well made and well thought out. Fit is athletic, but comfortable for my 6'1", 185lbs body.

Lightweight, But Tears Easily

This is a very lightweight hoodie and has some nice features like the thumb loops and face mask. However, it tears VERY easily and catches on everything. Brush up against an aspen tree? New hole. Sit on the dirt to glass? New hole. Bump into some weeds? Hole. Definitely not worth the price until it gets a bit more durable.

Good! Very light and breathable. I love the hood and face cover. The one downside is durability. You can definitely bust brush in this shirt, but after just a few days of use with moderate brush busting, the seams on the outside of my arms are starting to fray. I think relocating the seam to the inside of the arm near the cuff would help with this issue.
