I think I have every

I think I have every color. It’s my go first layer for any bowhunt except tree stand whitetail hunts. Moves with you, very breathable, drys super fast and doenst stink. At least one comes with on every hunt

Great base layer to wick

Great base layer to wick away sweat or on its own if your hunting hot weather. The hood and face mask are very convenient, especially for bow hunters. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that I'm more of a wool guy when it comes to base layers. Although this shirt has antimicrobial elements, its just not as comfy as natural fiber to me and will start to smell quicker than natural fiber. However, if you were to get wet, this system dries fast and if you're totally soaked, you can get in your sleeping system and cook dry all your clothes as apposed to natural fiber material. Overall, I'd still buy it again. Look, I'm as cheap as they come. I've tried almost every brand of hunting clothing out there and if I haven't tried it, I promise I've spent countless hours researching it. I'm the kind of person that will spend 4 hours researching a $20 product and comparing it before a purchase. I can say with absolute certainty that Sitka is the BEST clothing line on the market. Not just hunting clothes, but best overall. Their clothes are cozy, durable, and designed to keep you extremely comfortable with minimal layers and bulk. You can buy other brands and replace them every few years, or buy Sitka and your set for decades if not life. Buy once cry once! Bottom line is this isn't clothing, its equipment. More than that, it's equipment that could quite literally save your life in the back country. Once you realize that, the price is absolutely justifiable. I trust this company so much that I will buy their stock if they go public and I'd quit my job to work for them if they have an opening. That is how much I believe in Sitka.

Great base layer. I like

Great base layer. I like everything about it. I am 5’8” 175#, athletic build, and the large fits well with a little bit of room to spare. I am definitely getting this Lightweight hoody in various solid colors next.

Great product, This is my

Great product, This is my second one. I bought one size larger as I use it for early season scouting and in season over a thin base layer for moisture management. Once it cools offs I throw my Jetstream vest on. Love the hood when your just sitting glassing to keep the sun off. Or just out hiking around quite versatile.

This is a great base/next

This is a great base/next to skin layer. The moisture wicking qualities make it awesome for early season and hard hikes. When it starts to cool off, I pair this piece with the Kelvin vest. Highly recommend to all for hunting and general every day use.

I do like this hoody

I do like this hoody but I had a few things I wasn't crazy about, and when you spend good money, you want quality. I like how light weight and quiet it is. I use the face mask all the time and trust me, the subalpine camo pattern works well. So some of the things that I'm not crazy about: washing it and thread quality. I washed this for the first time and some of the color faded a little as well as I got some of these little fuzzies on it (hard to explain without pictures). Also, not sure when it started, but the threading around the wrist cuff started unraveling. I purchased the apex pants as well and left a 4-star review. Only issue I had was that they got a snag hole fairly easily in brush. With that being said, it's not cheap to purchase these outfits. Kind of bummed with the issues I've encountered on this set I bought.

By far the best baselayer

By far the best baselayer I've tried, Keeps me comfortable in everything here in South Carolina. We have a ridiculous climate and a versatile piece like the core lightweight was a great purchase for me ad probably will be for you. Would warn you that the zipper takes time to get used to it will be irritating at first but it goes away

My new base layer for

My new base layer for cooler to cold temps. The sizing chart was accurate for the body measurements selected, (L; 6’-0” tall). A functional product with well thought out features. As a comment, a slightly longer torso section would help keep the shirt tucked into the pants during over-stretched hunting situations. Otherwise this was not an issue for normal hunting movements

Love the LW hoodies, love

Love the LW hoodies, love them so much I bought another one. Understand with performance gear like Sitka you need to build a system. You are not going to hunt this hoodie from 90 degrees down to 20 degrees by itself, you need to add layers to it. I typically hunt this by itself from 90-65. After about 65 I add on my fanatic hoody and so on. I will say the LW hoodies wick moisture amazingly well, from hiking up and down CO mountains at 70 degrees with a 45 pound pack to 10 degrees and up in a tree, the LW hoodie is always on next to skin. The hood and face mask are the best part, no face paint needed and as it gets colder you would be surprised at how much warmer it keeps your face! XXL for all my Sitka tops and jackets. I’m 6’1” 240 for reference.

I was skeptical after unboxing,

I was skeptical after unboxing, but this instantly became my favorite every-hunt item. I have literally worn it every hunt this 2022 waterfowl season. Know before ordering that this is not a thick piece of clothing. It is very thin. It is absouletly perfect for early season. I wear this over a t-shirt and inside my waders. As it gets cooler, I will throw it under another warmer coat or sweathirt. The hood and face cover concept are the best part of this piece. The hood and the face cover both fit like they are made custom to my head and face. The hood can be worn over or under a hat. I'm 6'00'/190 pounds. Size L fits perfectly all the way around. This is a must own piece for waterfowlers.

Great piece of gear! I used this as a standalone in warmer weather and it functions as advertised. Comfortable, dries quickly and is not restrictive to movement.

Great base layer. Breathed perfectly. Used the hood and face shield to keep out of the Idaho sun on a backcountry elk hunt. Only downside was that the material started to wear beneath the shoulder straps of my pack after a week.

A staple in my backcountry

A staple in my backcountry gear. It is a light weight stretchy fabric that wicks the sweat away. At first I was nervous of the material as it appeared thin and I thought it might rip easily. I do a lot of bushwhacking through some nasty bush. Well after some hard hunts parts of my exposed skin were torn up but the fabric did not even appear to fray. I am very impressed and appreciative with the quality Sitka is putting out. I would definitely recommend this piece of gear.

Does the job, probably would

Does the job, probably would not perform under 20 degrees. I'd prefer wool for that. The face mask and hood are kid of annoying when you aren't using them.

This is a 4-season premium

This is a 4-season premium technical workhorse. It is one of three shirts/designs that I spend 95%+ of my outdoor time in. Very versatile. The airy polyester knit fabric (in the 100gsm range) manages moisture very well. Fit and finish is very clean. The hood is well designed - it stays put in the wind and/or when running, and doesn't impact vision. The fabric can/does snag, but durability is acceptable given the overall performance of the piece. I'm a sample size medium across every other technical outdoor brand I own clothing from; size medium in the Core LW Hoody fits me very well. You may or may not find the face mask useful - it can aid concealment but some users may find the additional fabric around the neck to be extraneous on an otherwise cleanly minimalist piece (it's easily removable with a pair of scissors). $130 is a lot to pay for a shirt, but this is one of those 'quiver killer' pieces of gear.

This is the most utilized

This is the most utilized piece I own. I wear it stand alone September-October. I’ll sometimes throw a light jacket on over the top on morning sits. It’s extremely breathable but the hood and built in mask is enough to keep the bugs off direct skin contact. With a case, the chest pocket is a little bit too small for my phone. 10/10.

The Core Lightweight Hoodie immediately

The Core Lightweight Hoodie immediately became one of my favorite pieces. Early bow season for whitetails and dove, teal, geese……wow. Love this hoodie. It’s even become a go to for summer boating and fishing.

This shirt is perfect in

This shirt is perfect in every way! I have always been a merino wool guy until hunting all 2021 in this shirt only. If I needed to get warmer, I just add layers then strip them off as it warms up. I'm 5'9' 190 crossfit build and the large fits awesome! Also its a perfect shirt for turkey hunting with the built in face mask.

I already had this piece

I already had this piece in EVII and it had become one of my favorite Go-To pieces that I wore as an outer layer in early fall, and mid-layer in late fall and winter because of the convenient built-in facemask. It is also a 'no-guess' layer, whereas the fanatic hoody may be too heavy as a layer when deciding which layer to remove as the day started to warm up, I could count on the core lightweight hoody. This year, I decided on purchasing this piece in black for night-time feral hog and coyote hunting during the hot and humid south Alabama summer nights. I wore it this weekend over a HECS top and it was PERFECT!! So lightweight and comfortable and, again, the built-in facemask was perfect. I am now thinking of purchasing this piece in subalpine for the turkey season next spring. This is absolutely one of my most versatile Sitka Gear pieces.

Got this as a gift.

Got this as a gift. One of the best gifts I have ever got. I use this hoody in every situation, early, mid and late season. From whitetail and turkey hunting in the south east to moose hunting in Alaska. Great product. The one and only con I have with it, is the chest pocket I wish the zipper was on top not the side. I have forgot to zip it when I put my turkey calls in it, and they gone.

I highly recommend the Core Lightweight Hoody. I have used it on early season deer and multiple antelope hunts. A necessary piece of gear when the temperatures are hot.

This was my first sitka

This was my first sitka purchase and I was very pleased with it! This hoody is very comfortable and I really like the hood and built in mask. I'm 6'1 245-255lbs and a XXL fits me great. I can't speak to the durability of it yet but at first glance it feels pretty sturdy. I plan on buying a couple more!

I got my first one

I got my first one second hand. I loved it so much I bought 3 more. They are the perfect everyday wear and a must have for any early season hunt. I wore this for almost 10 days on a early season elk hunt and it performed wonderfully every step of my 100 miles for the hunt.

I used to own other

I used to own other brands base layers, until I bought this. All I can say is wow, it is worth the money. I wear this now instead of a T-shirt while setting stands and cameras in the summer. I also wear it as my base layer on every single whitetail hunt. Great product

Do they not offer the Core Lightweight pants to match? All I find are what look to be base layer bottoms in the Core Lightweight. They do not look like the ones he is wearing in the pics here.

My go to piece for

My go to piece for early season archery hunting. When it's hot out and all that you're doing is sweating, this is the piece to have. Works well as a base layer for late season but I prefer Merino at that time of year for a little more warms. Overall, no complaints.

A core piece of the

A core piece of the system. Put it on first and the rest of the system protects you. This is essential. It doesn’t matter if it’s 95°F or 0°F, this is the first thing on and build off of it. Absolutely amazing.

Honestly would love to see

Honestly would love to see this lightweight option in Women's. The heavyweight is great for chilly mornings but would GREATLY enjoy an option with a hood and face covering that can be worn all day long.

I love the light weight

I love the light weight core line. The quality is great and the solids can be worn casually or while skiing/climbing... If you are having a tough decision about whether to get LG or XL, go with the XL. I can normally wear a LG in Sitka, but the core hoody is definitely an XL. I'll buy every color.

I was always an UA

I was always an UA / Merino guy until I tried this shirt. The ability for this shirt to dry when I sweat it out in a short amount of time kept me comfortable in hot weather and high exertion. It's also a very comfortable against the skin layer. I was worried about the feel of having a zipper next to my chest and it's not been an issue at all. They've done a great job of making it extremely comfortable even for those of us with chest hair.

Literally the best lightweight base

Literally the best lightweight base layer ever! Choose your camo or solid and just order it. The hood/face mask for hunting or event cold alpine hikes is amazing. I've been hiking or climbing in the Rocky Mountains for the last 15 years and I love this base layer. It's usually all you need if you're active on that movement. Just keep your shell in your bag and you're good to go!

This is my favorite piece

This is my favorite piece of my system. It is so light weight and breathable it isn't even right. I'm going into my second season wearing sitka and this is my absolute go to shirt. I'm in the middle of scouting in 90-108 degree weather up in the mountains and this shirt keeps the sun off me and keeps me cool. I'm looking forward to using it this bow season as well. Hands down by far a must to start off any system.

I wore this as my

I wore this as my base layer nearly the entire season. From 95 to 0F. I don't like face paint nor wearing much of anything on my face. But when some camo is needed, the built in mask (plus hood) of this works perfectly and does not become uncomfortable or cause issues with hat(s) or a hood I might be wearing. Probably wore it on 70 hunts last season and it shows zero wear. My favorite new piece of Sitka Gear.
