Excellent midweight base layer
The core midweight bottom is an excellent base layer that effectively wicks perspiration away during high level activity and keeps your legs warm while sedentary. When I hunt at my friend's family's hunting camp it takes about an hour and a half to walk up very steep terrain to get to where I have pre-positioned my tree climber. I need a base layer that is exceptionally good at wicking moisture away during my hour and a half upward hike and is able to keep my legs warm while sitting for multiple hours in my tree climber. This base layer also is effective in keeping moisture from building up in your groin and buttocks areas which helps prevent that feeling of being damp while sitting. I use this base layer with my Stratus Bibs which allows for me to open up the side zippers on my legs when needed and close them back up when sedentary, or keep them open if desired. This base layer and my Stratus Bibs are a great combination. I would highly recommend both if you need to be active and sedentary. Tristian, a Sitka phone representative and advisor, really helped me put an effective system together (core mid-weight bottom paired with the Stratus Bib, core light weight hoody, the Ambient 100 hoody, Fanatic Mid-Layer Hoodie, Heavy Weight Hoodie, and the Stratus Jacket). This system allows me to wick moisture, vent as needed, and remove layers as needed. Thanks Sitka for all your amazing products, and thank you Tristian for sharing your knowledge and expertise that enabled me to build a very effective and comfortable mid to late season system.
